IIT Delhi Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

After 6th semester, students become eligible for placements. A lot of companies visit the campus. Microsoft, Google, meta, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, oracle, etc. The highest package is 3.5 crore. The average package is 12 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placement is 80%. My plan is to get job after my degree.

Students are offered placements usually in their final year. Companies like Google, Microsoft, and BCG visit the campus. The highest package is around 2 crores and the average package is 15 lacs. Most of the students get placed.

The placement generally occurs in the seventh and eighth semesters. Generally, all the high-paying companies like Microsoft, Google, Optiver, and Goldman Sachs come to campus. The high-paying companies offer as much as 4 crore which was the highest package of 2022.

The prefinal year students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like BCG, Bain, Amazon, Google, etc. People usually get internships and get pre-placement offers and most of the left people get placed in the placement season.

Fourth-year and Fifth-year (Dual degree) students are eligible for campus placements from their 7th and 9th semester onwards, respectively. We have primarily 7 types of profiles: Quant & Finance, Tech/Software, Consulting, Product Management, Business Analysis, and Core (stream specific). Some of the major/legacy companies that visit the campus are Google, Microsoft, Sprinklr, JPMC, BCG, Bain, Mckinsey, Accenture, DE Shaw, etc. While the college's Office and Career Services (OCS) team may claim 90-95% placement success, the real numbers are closer to 70-80%. The highest package offered this year was 85 lakhs (CTC) despite false claims made by OCS. Since I have been placed at Accenture in a consulting role, I plan to gain some work experience and then pursue an MBA.

Most students in their 7th semester appear for campus placements. Tests begin around September and interviews are usually held in December. Those students who are pursuing a dual degree appear for campus placements in the 9th semester. All big companies come for campus placements here, like consulting, there is BCG, Bain, and McKinsey. In software, there are Google, Microsoft, etc. Besides, many high-frequency trading companies like Optiver, and Jane Street also come for placements. Most people get placed within the first couple of weeks of placement.

In 3rd students got internship opportunities based on their CGPA criteria. Companies visit the campus for the placement of fourth-year students. So many companies came during the placement season like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, bajaj, IBM, Infosys, Intel, etc. Around 1300+, jobs are offered every year. Here, the placements rate is high about 80+%. The highest salary offered 2Cr and the lowest was 6lakhs (rough idea). I first try to build a start-up and if it does not happen then I will be going through the UPSC line.

The curriculum at IIT D is vast in variety but somewhere in a few branches it's outdated and mostly focused on research in limited domains of the modern world. The student-faculty ratio is around 20:1Qualification for being a prof is Ph.D. and additional experiences. Exams are mostly 3 in a semester, consisting of 1 major and 1 minor exam.

Students get eligible in the 7th semester, top firms come to our college to hire the crème of the country with lucrative packages, and almost all students get placed. I would like to work for an HFT once I graduate.

From the seventh semester(i.e; after completion of 1st sem in 3rd year) we are eligible for campus placements, from the vide range ML, Consulting, Core, Software many more. The highest package offered is as follows; Software 50LPA+ Adobe is one of the highest and the average is 20-22LPA.
