What Students Say
Likes
- I like the facilities available on campus. We have all facilities imaginable not just in academics but even in sports and extra curricular activities.
- I like my course here and I like studying some of the subjects, especially since the classes are made more interesting by the highly qualified professors we have.
- I like the placement scenario since most students get placed and good companies come here for placements with good packages.
Dislikes
- Sometimes there are many exams and assignments around the same time so it gets hectic and difficult to manage.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course after I consulted my seniors and parents and they suggested industrial engineering is a good future career. Besides, I was not too interested in other departments that were available to me based on my JEE rank. There is 1 faculty and 2-3 teaching assistants for roughly 15 students so the faculty ratio is good. The faculty is highly qualified and great at teaching their courses. Many of them have PhDs from the top universities abroad, including Ivy League universities. The semester schedule is very strictly followed and so the term exams are all conducted at the exactly specified time. They are difficult to pass in some courses but some courses require less effort.
Internships Opportunities
Many top companies come here for internships like Bain, and LEK Consulting come for consulting profiles and offer a stipend of 1.5 lahks per month. In software, companies like Sprinklr and Google offer high packages as well. In algorithmic trading profiles, there are companies like Optiver and Jane Street that offer some of the highest stipends. In core (mechanical), companies like ITC, and Wipro come here and offer high packages.
Placement Experience
Most students in their 7th semester appear for campus placements. Tests begin around September and interviews are usually held in December. Those students who are pursuing a dual degree appear for campus placements in the 9th semester. All big companies come for campus placements here, like consulting, there is BCG, Bain, and McKinsey. In software, there are Google, Microsoft, etc. Besides, many high-frequency trading companies like Optiver, and Jane Street also come for placements. Most people get placed within the first couple of weeks of placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
Course fees per year are 238000 Rs. Fes has been hiked in recent years, and it should be decreased a little, but given the wide range of facilities that we have access to on our campus, I feel it is still fine. As for scholarships and financial assistance, there are many different scholarships endowed by various alumni and professors for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. There is also tuition fee waiver for students having annual family income less than 5 lakh. Schoalrships like IITD Endowment Scholarship are given to meritorious students based on their GPA and other achievements.
Campus Life
The annual cultural festival is Rendezvous. It is organized over a four-day period and has a wide array of events across all cultural and recreational activities. Besides, there are multiple promises held with celebrities like Sunidhi Chauhan and Benny Dayal performing. This year's Rendezvous is also going to be held in the second week of March. The annual tech fest is Tryst, which will also be held in March this year, a few days before Rendezvous. Some other fests are Literati, BECON, Kaizen. The library has thousands of books and all types of collections of research journals. Classrooms are well-equipped with projectors, multiple blackboards, and air conditioning
Admission
Only those students who qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced exam can take admission in this college. Moreover, admission into different programs is decided on the basis of your JEE rank. The application form and other details can be found on the JOSAA website through which we apply. You also need to secure 75% in your class 12 board exams in order to be eligible. I feel the current admission system is smooth and efficient and it does not necessarily need much improvement, maybe difficulty can be reduced.
