Great Placements but Campus needs improvements

I wanted to become a software engineer, for this information technology was the best course according to my JEE rank. The subjects like dsa, dbms and python helps me prepare best to become the software engineer. There should be more practical classes than theoretical. Semester exams happen after every 6 months and in between these months we have mid sems.

you get internship opportunities just after 3rd sem. google stem ask for your resume for further rounds just after you get done with your midsems of the third year. They mainly look for hackathons and ideathons you participated and won. they also look for projects that you created for your selection

After 3rd year students become eligible for campus placements. Almost 90% students gets placed. The top companies are Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google and Adobe. The highest package is 53 lacks and the average package is 20 lacs. I plan to become a software engineer after i complete my course or study further.

The fees for the course i am pursuing is 145000 for one year. Its a 4 years course. The fees remains the same for each category but u can apply for merit based scholarship provided by the delhi governmnet. The students can also apply scholarships by private companies. There are scholarships for sc st and obc categories as well.

The annual fest TAARANGANA happens in the month of dec or jan. Technical events like hackathons and ideathons happens on a daily basis. Most of the books are available in the library and journals like ieee and springer can be accessed easily through igdtuw wifi. The IT block classrooms have ac recently installed, smart boards are there in the classroom. The societies are pretty much active. IGDTUW resources provides you the notes and previous year papers.

I applied for technical branches in colleges like DTU and NSUT as they have better crowd and placement stats, but I couldn't get in because of my JEE rank. I also applied for GGSIPU colleges but but Igdtuw seemed more promising because of its placement opportunities. You need to apply through JAC councelling via your JEE rank. and then pay the fees.

About 75 students are there in every batch. Most of the teachers are approachable. They guide you with your projects and research paper. Some of the best teachers were Dr. Alongbar Wary, he really helped me out in getting my research paper published. Also Dr. Priyanka, she made me fall in love with physics. I didnt really like my sspd teacher, he made up beg for .5 marks just so the cgpa could change. There are semester exams, in total there are 8 sems and in between each sem we have mid sems of 2 units. The subjects are relevant and moderate to pass.

There is a gym area but it does not have any equipments. The area is mostly utilized by hypnotics society for their practice. There is a cafeteria but there no arrangements for seats. curfew for hostels starts from 8 pm. The area just after the campus isnt very safe. there are liquor shops and it is an industrial area around
