Our college has shaped many careers!!

I should be honest about this one as this wasn't my supposed or preferred branch. I came here as thinking I might get a changeover to CSE from the second year. However, i failed to do so but I have fallen in love with my course and now I feel like studying and contributing to the core field. This is the kind of impact that our course has on us.

Many core companies come here as capital goods and defence sector is where our expertise and teaching takes us to. It's the majority of IT names that comes but I am or rather no one should look beyond their core branch otherwise there's no point is what I feel. Averages have suddenly gone up as currently as per the substrata of last 3-4 years it stands at 7.5 lakhs a year.

Myself Pragati Prasad in second year of my college and doing Mechanical and automation engineering from IGDTWU. The fees is nearly one and a half lakhs yearly. The fees ain't that high as our college's ratio for placements is superb and ROI is arguably one of the best one will see. So, I think fees wise we are nicely suited.

Campus has a playground, a kiosk and a cafe apart from academic facilities ofcourse. We have a room for relaxation and luckily hostel is also inside the college so, during breaks i relax inside my hostel room only. Taaranga our annual fest needs a special mention as one of the only fests where outsiders are not allowed and we can enjoy with our mates from college only.

Room is quite compact and all rooms have three students staying in the same area. Yes, 3 beds and all are seperate and we also have clothes drying area. Theres a common fridge and water coolers on each floor as well. Mess seves average quality food but during fast it does provide those kind of food too.

I came to Delhi for counseling and DTU was the choice I wanted but sadly i couldn't get it. Second schoice was between ours and NSUT but then our college is known for placements and also teaches women empowerment. Ofcourse 12th score and JEE Mains results play a vital role in getting admission in our college and I also got through that only.

Faculties means alma matter and our alma matter take care of us like their own. I think they have taken some religious quotes like love others like self and all very seriously. I have hardly missed home as I am from Kolkata and sometimes it gets frustrated staying away from home. Our faculties though have ensured that we don't face these issues.

Our area isn't that safe for women as metro station of Kashmir Gate is at a walking distance. Therefore we have to be back at campus by 8pm. Many kiosos and street food places are nearby and for drinks and food lovers there are some bars and cafe too.
