Remarks

IIT Delhi is close to my hometown and is ranked no. 2. It offers best faculty in Chemical engineering. IIT Bombay was rejected because of inability of getting a good branch there. IIT Delhi's campus is small and beautiful and is located at the center of city. And of course, it's IIT DELHI. Why would you not go there?

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Chose this course because this was best I was getting based on my marks in JEE Advanced. Faculty is highly qualified and hold PhD degree from prestigious universities of world. Term exams were bit difficult and forced us to think critically. Nothing was 'learn and write.

I didnt opt for internship via college. I applied it for externally. I did internship at IOCL as a summer trainee. After 3rd year, I went to Monash University for research internship. And after 4th year, I did Product Management university.

There were scholarship programs for students holding best ranks in the class. Financial assistance were provided to those students which belong to SC/ST, OBC and PWD students. Scholarship was there for students whose parents annual income was less than 3 lacs. There were other scholarship programs also. Getting intern through campus is difficult but job placement is good at IIT Delhi. TnP cell of IIT Delhi is hardworking and they work their best to get everyone placed. I got a PPO from the company I interned at so didnt sit in the placements.

Placement Experience:

The placements at Kirori Mal College are respectable and are getting better. The fifth semester is typically when students become eligible for campus placements. Numerous well known bussineses like Deloitte, KPMG, EY et. Approximately 50-60% of students are placed through campus drives each year. The average package is approxiamtely 5-7 lakhs per year. After getting the degree I plan on applying for a masters degree in the same field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

The course is good but placement is very bad in the campus. The frequency of exams is 2 hours or 3 hours depends on the credit of that subject. The exam level is of moderate level. We had pass the exam studying 1 week before the exam.

Eligibility is 5th semester onwards you can get campus placement. Deloitte, TATA, nestle, other big MNC's Highest is around 20 lacs and average is around 5 lacs. 60-70 % students get places but it can be higher or lesser depending upon the crowd of students , their talents. I think I would choose a professional course like civil servant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

as been from the science background I have deep interest in maths already, and I want to continue my passion for it. The proves the critical thinking the imaginary parts and the applications of mathematics. We see every day it motivates to think about these theorems. The curriculum of course is very good, but due to NEP, we have to study subjects like Hindi in our AEC which is very irrelevant to the curriculum and waste our four hours weekly in mathematics, we mainly deal in proof and theorem. There are very less real word applications that are being taught here. There are various areas for improvement like we can adapt the course or the curriculum.in universities like IITs,Cambridge Oxford and other big universities so that the placement and internship percentage can get improved in our college
