Course Curriculum Overview

3

One of the main reasons I chose this course was the Mathematics Hons curriculum at Kirori Mal College which is strong conceptually and comprehensively. Our curriculum includes fundamental topics like Real analysis, Algebra, Probability, Linear Programming etc. Although the course could incorporate more practical, industry relevant content like Python, R. Internal assessments are conducted throughout the term and exams are held at the end of each semester. They are fair if you continue to study consistently but they are moderately difficult.

Internships Opportunities

3

For a mathematics honors students at Kirori Mal, DU offers excellent placement opportunities, particularly through the Mathematics society Tensors and the Colleges placement cell. Internship positions like Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Research Assistant etc are available.

Placement Experience

3

The placements at Kirori Mal College are respectable and are getting better. The fifth semester is typically when students become eligible for campus placements. Numerous well known bussineses like Deloitte, KPMG, EY et. Approximately 50-60% of students are placed through campus drives each year. The average package is approxiamtely 5-7 lakhs per year. After getting the degree I plan on applying for a masters degree in the same field.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the B.sc (Hons) Mathematics course are Kirori Mal (KMC), DU, the fee structure is quite affordable compared to other universities and stays nearly constant year after year with only a minor increase. The first year fees for my batch belonging to general category was approximately 17000/- Rs which included tuition fees, admission and registration fees. According to Delhi university policies, the cost is even lower for SC, ST and OBC students in which the fees is lowered by nearly 50-60%. For worthy students, KMC provides financial aid and scholarships. Departmental awards for exceptional academic achievement and DU level scholarships such as the Vice Chancellors Scholarship are also available.

Campus Life

5

At Kirori Mal College, DU, the campus life is very vibrant, sociable and oppurtunity rich. The mathematics society (Tensors) hosts workshops, quizzes and technical events and the college hosts the grand annual cultural fest "Renaissance" in Feburary- March. Lectures are interactive thanks to large well ventilated rooms that have projectors and good large boards. Grounds and courts for indoor games such as badminton, basketball, football and cricket are examples of good sports facilities.

Admission

I chose this college because of its well reputed maths department and faculty. The infrastructure, quality of learning and its reputation in the maths field is better than the other colleges. The croed could be better. I got accepeted to Atma Ram College in DU before this allotment. Some better marks in physics could have gotten me the top 3 colleges of DU but I am still satisfied with KMC. The admission is strictly on CUET scores and the other reserved categories in which cutoffs are made.

Faculty

4

The faculty is generally well qualified, experienced and supportive. With a student to faculty to student ratio of 1:20-25, students are able to communicate with their teachers and ask for help when they need it. Among the faculty members are Dr SP Tripathi, who teaches Real Analysis with remarkable clarity and makes diffucult concepts seem understandable and Dr Raj Kumar who siplifies Algebra with real world examples. Our curriculum includes 3-4 core subjects per semester in addition to electives and skill based papers. Exams consist of both primary written exams as well as internal evaluations.

Night Life

5

The nightlife around Kirori Mal College is lively but safe. The majority of campus facilities close by evening like the ym closes by 6.30 pm , the library closes around 7 pm. Favorite locations outside are the Hudson lane cafes such as the The big yellow door, Echoes, The telegram cafe. For street food and shopping, the Kamla Nagar market is close by.

Other Applied Colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
