Here the faculty is very nice they are ready help when students need there help
Here placements is so good and many top companies are approaching to the college students here having good opportunity for the placements average placements is about 13lakhs per annual combining all branches
Many scholarships like fcc, nsp and others are student welfare related and do help the students alot.

Dislikes

Scholarship are there for weak section of society.. my fees is somewhat between 140000 to 150000 years as i didn't receive any scholarship or anything.
The hostel facility is not that great, there is a food problem in terms of taste and water problem in terms of hygiene, there are some issues with the internet also.
The attendance criteria is really strict and the behaviour of the professors are not good

A review of NIT silchar by a 3rd year cse female student

i love the nature, location,environment and the atmosphere of our campus. pin drop silence and pleasant climate is seen as our campus is in the outskirts of silchar but not in themiddle of a busy town area.
socially we are very diverse and south indian northindian and northeastern ratio is almost same and we all live peacefully
library is the main attraction of our campus it's the largest digital librabry amoung all nits

Dislikes

syllabus is a lil bit out dated and the faculty can be more engaging while they are teaching in the class
male female ratio is poor here and clubs and societies are not diverse
too many students in a class makes it difficult for teachers

1.campus intern drive from from starting of 3rd year. 2.from 7th semester students can sit for capus placements 3.top companies includes amazon,microsoft,atlassian,accenture,goldmannsachs,aws,delloitte,detueche bank,hcl tech,razorpay and many more startups also. 4.90% students get placed for sure 6.highest in 2023 was 56lpa and least was 6lpa 7.i want to get placed

The things that appreciate about college like its placement,campus,and few facilities.collegr is quite larger than I expected.it has many options of sports.the things I like about college is college has almost all sports ground football, cricket etc.
Thing I like about college is its placement.because it's placements are fantastic.and placement cell also work effectively.and it's average package is way better than other nits.also positive point of our college is it is old established college.
The quality that I liked most about our college is its Asia's largest digital library.social interaction of our college is okok.

Dislikes

The things I dislike about my college is management of academic section.
The college infrastructure need to be renovation.becsuse it's infrastructure is very old generation.and academic building are very old.
Old hostel are very low quality and it's need to be renovated.some sports ground are also need to be renovated.and gym equipment are very low quality so it need to improve.

Placement Experience:

The placement of our college is fantastic.and it is much better than the northeast nits.from 7 semester generally Students are eligible for placement.there are many big companies visit to our college and they offered packages to students like Google ,Microsoft, oracle, intas and like Microsoft approximately offered 3,4 people for job.the highest package of nit silchar is 52.89 lpa and average package is 13.34 lpa.percentage of the students placed in this year is approx 75%.if some students not offered campus placement then they have also many opportunities for job outside the college because of college like it is nit and it's degree is very important.my plans after getting the degree is doing job for some times and then do business.

Campus is full or greenery (trees, lakes) in 650acres, infra structure is decently good with cricket and football stadium and badminton courts and gym
Faculties and seniors are also cooperative,I didn't found any major difficulties in social interactions,students are normal (mug up before exams),
Placements are not good compared to top nits, internships are there, though you will find here clubs for career development.

Dislikes

Some professors are not good enough they just teach and go(at the end you have to study online)
So many Students and faculty from south india(may be they don't go well with someone) food here is not veg friendly and variety is less , mess is ok, connectivity of college is not good far from main town and you have to change train from Guwahati.
Corruption is there the budget provided is not properly used for improvements, the Silchar is also not a big city no place to travel you have to go town to buy things is you can't find in nit

Every year many companies visits around 600 offers were made this year though the exact details and stats are provided of the NIT Silchar website that you can check. Avf package was around 13.34LPA and highest around 52LPA. and mostly students get placed. After getting degree I may persue for job.

NIT silchar a better destiny

Likes

Train reachability is good. Railway station is close to the campus
Campus is very large so it is a good place to visit
Bus service is there for going to the town.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is weak.Buildings aren't renovated
Airport is very far. But the college bus go to airport
Girls to boys ratio is very less leading to lesser interaction between them.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd years students are eligible for internship and from 7th semester they are eligible for campus placement. Amazon,nvidia, apple , etc come to our college. Percentage of students getting placement is also good.

Likes

Campus is very vibrant.Specially in monsoons.It feels like you are in heaven .
There are very good location around the campus where we can hang over
There are tea gardens around the campus . There are a lot of scenic views

Dislikes

Mess food is not very good.Sometimes good sometimes bad.
You might feel a little disconnected from your area.
Campus is very big so you would have to use cycle to travel in the campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements are quiet good at our college .Most of the students are placed here. Last year the placement percentage was 100 percent in the computer science branch and core branches also so agood placement percentage with a placement percentage of 80 percent in civil engineering.

Honest College Review

Campus is very beautiful and greenish with 20-21 lakes in the campus.
Professors are so good and supportive. They solve every doubts of every student.
Hostel is also good and with facilities such as water purifier and guessers etc.

Dislikes

Ragging is still happening there and no professors or someone can stop the powerful seniors.
Bribery is an issue there. We have a technical fest named technoesis, in which there are some technical events in which students can participate and win cash prizes. This cash prize is never disbursed to the winner. Organisers and Dean take it.
Sports facility is not good there. Roughly 2-3 equipments are working in the college GYM

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in the 7th semester itself. Big companies like google microsoft amazon accenture visit NIT Silchar for placements and offers enormous number of opportunities to students. Highest package this year was 55 lakhs and avarage is about 11 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placed this year has fallen down due to recession conpares to last year to 65%. While last year it was 88-89%

Every NIT college have some prons and cons,it depends on individuals jee mains rank and factors which influenced them.

I liked the lush green campus of NIT Silchar which is an open campus spread across 625 acres with approximatiely 25 lakes and plenty of trees and greenary.Purity level of air is worthnoticing,waste disposal and cleanness is remarkable and significant
Proffesors are very helpfull and friendly,with excellent knowledge in their respective domains.Love the way they teach and make us undestand the complex topics by brraking it into small bits,some even holds top 2% scientists position worldwide..
I liked the friendly behaviour of seniors and classmates,Fully free of ragging,friendly seniors and fully open with juniors,no forcefull treatment or bullying

Dislikes

Paricularly the repititive meal,which infact is a problem in every college
Long distance between class and hostel which becomes trouble in the case when one misses the bus
Out of skirt location makes difficult for studentd to meet some needs whicha are not available nearby

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is the main reason i decided to join this college,last year the average package of CSE is close to 20 lakhs(keeping recession in mind),and overall package is 13-14 plakhs per annum with an outstanding median of 14 lakh per annum,almost all big product based companies and service based companies along with PSUs comes in our college for campus placements.More than 600+ job offers have been provided with an acceptable placement rate.

A phase of life which is worth living: College life

Likes

Things I like about my college is it's beautiful and cleane environment. Every morning and evening I got to see most beautiful sunrises and sunsets of my life.
The study environment, students thier are really helpful and supportive, they always help each other whether it for exams, financially help or when you fall sick they always help each others and that's the most best thing I liked about this college.
Teachers and professors are very friendly in nature and always Ready for help in studies and if they they can also provide personal tutoring.

Dislikes

Less connectivity, as a north east college it is very difficult to find handy things around college.
Network issue, it is one of the greatest disadvantage of the college having network issues.
Less number of daily needs shops, we have to go main town to buy clothes and other essential things.

NIT Silchar is a prestigious engineering college that imparts quality education in various fields. However, the PG courses aren't very well-known and only the UG courses have gained fame over time. It is therefore advisable to check the profiles of the teachers in the respective department.

Additionally, NIT Silchar is located in a remote location and you might find it difficult to procure your equipment for projects. MTech depends on the quality of the research and project you have completed and if you fail to accomplish it your MTech degree is invaluable.

Most companies visiting NIT Silchar prefer BTech students to MTech students. So getting a good job let alone a core job is very difficult here. The institute has no international ties so your future prospects may narrow down further.
