My interest made me to choose mechanics, though the curriculum feels old but involves real world application problems to be solved mathematically. I think that that way of teaching needs improvement here teacher solves questions on boards but doesn't briefly explain how to approach problems also the level of mechanics paper is difficult since the question are solved all mathematically students find is difficult. Their are about 3-4 test conducted in each subject in a semister also labs are there , the classes goes from 8 to 5 which provides less time to revise and complete assignments.

Every year many companies visits around 600 offers were made this year though the exact details and stats are provided of the NIT Silchar website that you can check. Avf package was around 13.34LPA and highest around 52LPA. and mostly students get placed. After getting degree I may persue for job.

Many annual festivals are conducted but tecnoesis and incandescence are major of them. Incandescence is conducted in February and tecnoesis in November. The good thing is thst the library is really huge for the need the book are provided from library that you can issue for semister. The old classrooms has basic facilities but newer ones are equipped with projectors and speakers and stage. Sports activities timely organised for the tournaments the occur, in currently in December inter nit tournaments are going on for various sports not Silchar hosting for cricket. Clubs and societies are fair enough here you can easily find one based on your interest,which may keep to engaged in to develop you skills. NIT Silchar also has NSS and NCC government organisations to enrol students.

Room is provided with basic facilities like fan light and balcony or dry off clothes,LAN cable port is also provided for internet connection. The quality of meal is decent to the comparison. Registration process has no issues as such and affordable (for a semister ?22500).

I wanted to join only top nits so I applied for those ones only where nit Silchar wese among the last of it, since it's and old(1967) and established college I choose it over others. I did wanted to join better colleges with good placements but my the branch was not desirable according to my rank. NIT Silchar has admission through josaa counseling based on jee mains exam rank for btech students the cutoff is different category wise which varies every year.

Faculty to student ratio is good,except some faculty you can approach easily for your problems. I liked DK Raju sir way of teaching as their subject(EE) didn't require me to study online,and Arijit sir of maths(cooperative for doubts) And mechanical faculties are not good they don't teach well enough as their level of question paper(patnayak sir) There are mid sem and end sem exams with and minor tests moderately difficult, except mechanics few fails.

Gym,sports ground, cafe and library are there for you remaining time. Hostel gate closes at night around 8 pm The college is full of places to find you hangout place in fact you may not be able to cover them all in 650 acres of land full of lakes and tall trees.
