- It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
- The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
- No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.
Dislikes
- The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
- The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
- Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

- Great Infrastructure with great resource and availability for students.
- Students with different parts of country get all together and study which help in the overall development of the students.
- The classes provided by highly classed professors are much better for overall understanding the course.

- So, the college area is quite large so movement around might take long durations.
- The demographics of the students are not that even in the college as 50% are of Odisha origin.
- Most of the maintenance are not done in the hall residence

In NITR , above 90% students gets placed and in my department last year 96% students got placed and also the companies that come for recruitments consists of multi national companies and big corporation with average CTC of 12 lpa
Placments drive run for 4th year btech students from there 7 th semester
Compaies visted : Google, Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian, Samsung, Qualcomm, Oracle, IBM, Maruti, etc.
NO. of offers made were 1300 for students
Highest package : 1.2 cr per annum
Average package : 12.89 lpa
Placement rate : 82.3%
Plans after getting degree : I am highly invested in AI and ML enginnering so i want to get more learn about it and to get to any AI company .

placements are good in college, a wider variety of companies come here to recruit students from every branches;
after 6th semester students are eligible for placements if someone is not going for placement he or she may go for higher studies....

- Cleanliness and beauty of the campus are maintained everywhere
- In our hostel sanitation is very good lan port is available in every room speed is also very good
- Professors are highly educated and have unique teaching style
Dislikes
- The mess food of any hostel is not so good except one which we call it green mess
- There are some courses which have no need in our branch still we have to study
- The cg calculation is absolute so in hard papers it is not acceptable

Our college provides campus placement. And it is too good our overall average package is 14.57 lpa and highest package is 1.2crpa and median package is 11.8 lpa . Average, median and highest package in cse is 21.6 lpa, 20 lpa , 83.6 lpa.

- The infrastructure is the main attraction of our College. Huge campus with lush greenery.
- The maintenance is up to date and after so many year college charm is not compromised.
- The faculties are quite friendly and co-operative.
Dislikes
- The main concern is 85% attendance policy and they follow it strictly.
- The examination pattern is quite hectic. They don’t even give a day break between two hug syllabi subjects.
- The fest and events are not upto the mark. They do conduct the fests on regular intervals but still they lack some more arrangements and decoration.
Placement Experience:
This year over 300 companies visited our college and made over 1300 job offers.
The highest placement was 1.2cr/year made by an IT company to an Electronics and Instrumentation Branch student.
The average package of out institute is around 12LPA and in the CS branch it is around 18LPA.
Almost 95% students got placed this year and this is a general trend every year.

- I liked the campus environment which is so large.
- It is the largest nit in area wise, and the weather is so good.
- The fog in winter feels very nice. I like the holidays we get
Dislikes
- I don’t like the food, as it is salt and mirchi powder deficient.
- As the campus is big it becomes a problem to travel here and there.
- The rooms are not so good, we need to adjust.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I rate The course curriculum 9 out of 10 as the course is so related branch core subjects even it adds other branch subjects by reducing the credits which is so nice as it allows to get to know about each and every branch's syllabus.

- Their is a jealousy between friends that should not be there
- Everyone should help each other in academics but that is absent here
Placement Experience:
Placements in our college are only based on skills. So if one failed in showing their skills then they can't get placement and one should be updated as much as possible for future jobs. They should learn new courses like ai ml and all. Most probably my college will give me good placement if not I will show up my skills and get good job off campus

- The campus is really big and beautiful. It is lovely cycling around. The lecturers and the subjects are really good. Our exams are application based, not rote learning.
- The people here are very friendly, they would go out of their way to help a stranger. I have never had any bad experience with a local.
- The diversity among the students is booming. The people in NIT Rourkela are from all across India. It helps understand other's culture and values.
Dislikes
- The campus may seem a little too big at times. Have to cycle just to reach basics necessities like the dispensary.
- The ambulance driver is extremely non-serious. He rejects emergency calls whenever he is eating. And there is only one ambulance in the whole campus.
- The girl to boy ratio is harsh. The ratio is about 1/5
Course Curriculum Overview:
My course is artificial intelligence, which is a booming branch in today's time. As the days pass by, the need for artificial intelligence grows exponentially. It is very relevant and has many output job opportunities after college. This branch has been introduced in NIT Rourkela for the first time this year.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience
- NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
- The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
- Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
- The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
- The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
- The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
- The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
- The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
- Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
- The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
