IGDTUW Revealed – A Glimpse into Campus Life, Career & Chaos.

Honestly, being in an all-girls college helped a lot. You feel safer, more confident
Most of our profs actually know their stuff. Some are strict but in a good way
Campus life isn’t dead at all. There’s always some event, society meeting, or fest happening.

Dislikes

Admin stuff is a nightmare sometimes. You’ll have to run around for simple things like getting a form signed or an ID card reissued.
The course is heavy in the starting years, and not all of it feels useful. It would’ve been better if there was more focus on practical stuff
Sports and gym facilities are honestly kinda ignored. If you're into fitness or serious sports, you’ll feel like it’s all just for show.

So I applied only through JAC Delhi, and honestly? I didn’t go too deep into applying everywhere else because I knew my focus was fixed on Delhi colleges. I didn’t want to leave the city, and I was only looking at places like DTU, NSUT, IIIT-D, and of course, IGDTUW. I chose IGDTUW ‘cause I was getting a good branch according to my JEE Main rank, and the placement stats looked strong, especially for girls in tech. Other colleges had higher cutoffs for the same branches and I didn’t want to settle for something random or not-CS related. So this was the best option that clicked. Admission process is all through JAC Delhi counselling. You need a valid JEE Mains score, and the cutoffs are different for Delhi and Outside Delhi categories. CS and IT close early, like always.

IGDTWU is amazing!!

Likes

We have one of the gradest auditorium and we have alreade made a lot of memories there.
Bus stop and metro station both are at a walking distance from our campus.
We also have a photostat shop inside the campus and that has come to our rescue more often than not.

Dislikes

Boys of Ambedkar college keep capturing our ground for most part of college hours.

CET is mandatory as 12th percentage of 55 works here. Counselling is how you can join and since there are just 120 seats, yoh have to apply early for BBa and also have to score well in the entrance as well.

IGDWTU makes student intelligent!!

Not much improvement required as only the college buildings have torned out otherwise everything is good about our college.
All modern facilities be it labs kor AI machineries and learning, we have it all.
Open AI to Deepseek, we are taught all and are also taught on how we can develop an IP.

Dislikes

Hostels are not good as for outsiders staying in the hostel is only choice as there are no nearby pgs from college.

I applied to DTU but couldn't make it and therefore our college being a girls college gave more comfort to my family then me. So, for me to come and study and Delhi and for them to don't worry much about us, I took admission here through counselling.

Our college has shaped many careers!!

Likes

Our labs need special mention as they are among one of the best for mechanical and automation engineering.
Holidays and breaks provided are also good enough as I am an outsider and always wants to go home once the exams are over.
Placements are significant as they are dying for mechanical department elsewhere but not at our college.

Dislikes

Even though it's a girls college and still Ambedkar college boys are allowed at our campus, so this i feel should be changed.
Hostel rooms don't have attached washrooms.

I came to Delhi for counseling and DTU was the choice I wanted but sadly i couldn't get it. Second schoice was between ours and NSUT but then our college is known for placements and also teaches women empowerment. Ofcourse 12th score and JEE Mains results play a vital role in getting admission in our college and I also got through that only.

IGDTWU is perfect engineering college!!

Likes

Crowd wise the college is exceptional as one can find no points to criticize the college.
Our college roads and even the cafeteria is so clean as otherwise the dampness and all common issues elsewhere but at IGDTWU.
Academic facilities and also the recreational facilities both are too good to be true.

Dislikes

Placements at our college are good but college lags in providing us assistance for good core internships.

Admission:

NSUT, was the other option that I had. DTU i missed out and out of these three after DTU it's our college and hence I took the admission here via counselling. Counselling lasts various rounds and therefore earlier you get admission it's better as in the end only the leftover branches and colleges is what one gets.

IGDTWU is for Intelligent Ones!!

The college has hostel which are inside the campus and that to is the first thing I like about this college.
Secondly, girls are supportive and boys of Ambedkar University are allowed to use the campus so watching guys from distance is the second plus.
Lastly the placements as Mechanical branch hardly had placements otherwise but from our college 8 out of 10 students are placed.

Dislikes

College area is not so good as it is very crowded due to major bus depot hub of Delhi.

CET is compulsory and even JEE Mains rankers between 5-8k rankers are allowed to enter here through central counselling. Admission process was good and rapid too but seats come and go so fast that sometimes, students gets fest of missing out kind of thing. Hence, I feel a little more cushion and some time should be provided to students during counseling.

I got 98 percentile in jee but my bad luck i did'nt have delhi quota i have haryana as my home state nd nit kuk cutoff generally goes high i was getting electrical there so i was not able to get a good branch but this college is an all girls college so i was expecting a good branch in it even if i am outside quota beacuse in our college 95 percent seats are reserved for dlehi candidates but u was lucky enough to get ut branch through outside quota

Definitely the campus and the hostels too as the hostels are guarded by women guards.
College teaches us women empowerment and also make sure that we go hand in hand with the co-ed university students.
Activities and fests of the college are such that we get a lot of learning from it apart from impartial education.

Dislikes

Hostel food is something which is not that great and plus we can't step out of hostel rooms after 9 pm.

Admission is through a tough counselling and literally one just have some time to think and decide as one chance gone means it's gone. Cut-offs are different every year and one can't predict so all one can do is score their best and try to get the top colleges through entrance and ours is indeed one of the best.
