Jipmer days

Likes

Spandan days seven days annual festival where students from many medical colleges perform many co curricular activities
Lister league football, where the batch wise students play football as a series and overall championship
Pondicherry itself with beautiful beaches and auroville globe and the roaming days

Dislikes

No placement from campus interviews. But reference helps from senior consultants

The course from first year to till the course completion is full of all required theory and practical sessions that moulds the individual to become best in the career. Students gets the best curriculum from the best faculties in india and are getting the best practical knowledge

The campus life in jipmer

Likes

My hostel is the favorite part of this campus. The calm and pleasant atmosphere always make my mind happy.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of jipmer is entirely different from other nursing college. It have both practical and theoretical education from the first year onwards. This will make the student more confident to appear before a patient.

Likes

Class and college are really friendly in atmosphere
Library is good and peace atmosphere is provided

Dislikes

Curriculum may develop stress within the students
More exposure to clinical atmosphere than theory classes

JIPMER a fabulous experience

Likes

Campus and hostel is extremely student friendly.
Faculties are so cooperative and always there us to guide us.
All extra curricular activities are held annually and every students actively participate in that.

Dislikes

Posting hours are too long for the students .
Holidays are less compared to private colleges.
Mess menu should be modified every 6 months.

I choose this course because i want to serve the society. Curriculum prepares u well for the job and higher studies. Improvement should be made in the practical aspects of course. Exams happens once in every year. Difficulty level is hard

Likes

Infrastructure around the sports ground and our posting room
I like the class room infrastructure in my college very much
I like our faculties very much ans their are helpful

Dislikes

I hate water in my campus and we didn't have cold and hot water
In canteen food is not properly cooked and less quantity
Placements are jot properly scheduled as per my knowledge

Likes

The clinical exposure is really good with various kinds of real life experiences
Teachings and learning process with proper guidance of faculties
Curriculum build up is reakky good as it includes all activities also apart from academics

Dislikes

Strict atmosphere of the college and the regulator of uniform
Not solving the problem of students and not listening to the cause
Partially of the nursing college different rules for all the college hsotels where the most strict atmosphere is in nursing hostel

An honest review about jipmer

Likes

Jipmer campis is big with lots of facilities for sports and some other things such as park
Hostel life is good.,not so strict rules,availability of different food menu.Campus itself is relaxing
It has good clinical exposure since all new facilities are available. Good teaching

Dislikes

Hostel rooms especially is very bad compare to other college.Its really hard to stay 3 person in one room
100 percent attendence for clinicals is really difficult.There is no consideration even if you are sick. The only way out is you have to compensate, for that students from far place are always in difficult position since their vacation will be cut sh
You have to be a year back if you could not pass in the University exam even if it is only for 1 mark.They will not consider anything under any circumstance

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is one among the best nursing college.For theory class you need 75 percentage attendance and for clinicals 100 percentage attendence is a must.In case you don't have 100 percent attendence you have to compensate for the hours you took leaves during your year end vacation.we have internal exams and then University exams

JIPMER - Its pros and cons

Likes

Classroom , faculties, clinical training , other curricular and extracurricular activities
Various opportunities to show our talents
Library facilities and reading room facilities in college and in hostel

Dislikes

Lack of cleanliness in hostel, toilet facilities
Rooms are not spacious and limited facilities for cooking eventhough mess is not available
Hostel for nursing students is so small and the provisions for them are less as compared to other departments

Course Curriculum Overview:

1.Related to medical field and patient care 2.Curriculum provides both theoretical and practical experience . 3. Clinical training should be improved to improve skill. 4. There are internal exam of 4 for each subjects and also send up ( model exam ) and university exam. Marks of all exams are taken into consideration.

The curriculum has changed last year in which we can complete our internship within four years. The campus security system is great.
The campus is really big. There are so many facilities available in this college like gym.
The central library is really helpful for students to refer books

Dislikes

The year back system is the most disliked thing in college
The marking system has changed to evaluation in which scoring mark is very difficult
The minimum attendance for the eligibility to write university exam is 75 % which is also a disliked thing

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum in Jawaharlal Institute of post graduate medical education and research is absolutely influenced me to choose this course because the curriculum is so perfect. The curriculum prepares me for real- world applications or further academic pursuits well. My suggestion for teaching methods are give more time for practicals. There will be almost three exam in one month with moderate difficulty.

Campus life o jipmer is good , and the academic fees is affordable. The college provides proper infrastructure and lab facilities within the campus. .
College and hospitals are provided within the campus.
Campus provided proper security system. The college facilities like infrastructure, labs, facilities are good

Dislikes

The mess availability within the hostel is not provided. Good menu for food is not following
Less vacation time period, it is difficult to go home from puducherry to kerala in short time
Not providing proper study leave , it is difficulty to cover the topics for exam

The curriculum help me to get choose the course of bsc nursing. The curriculum is detailed & understandable. By the help of curriculum I able to get knowledge of my course. The curriculum is in proper manner and it is easy to understand in step by step. It helps me to understand the further academic matters. According to curriculum it is in detailed manner so easy to prepare for exam. They providing longer time period in annual exam, it is difficult to write continuously. They providing 3hr for each exam ,for continuous writing it cause tired. In my perspective I suggest yo decrease the time period of exam

Like any other institution, JIPMER will offer you some of the best and worst days of your life.

Academically, I gained exposure to a vast variety of cases. This has worked to enhance my confidence as a medical professional.

In the Pediatrics ward, you may visit the neonatal ICU, and see how sick newborns are taken care of. You may attempt resuscitation on a baby. You may conduct deliveries in the Labour room, and perform minor sutures. You may interact with cancer patients, and others suffering from life threatening illnesses. You may work in the surgical emergency department.You’ll witness many births and deaths.

JIPMER lets you explore your field of interest. Whichever department you are interested in, you can volunteer for the same. You can volunteer in every department if you like, no one will stop you.

I secured 548 marks(GEN) in neet 2022 and I want to pursue Bsc Nursing. Which college should i choose from JIPMER,LHMC,RAKCON? I want to work abroad after my nursing degree. I am from Maharashtra. Please help me regarding these. I am very confused what college to choose as I am eligible for all the colleges.

All the three insitiutes are popular and good for pursuing B.Sc Nursing program. But considering the factors such as infrastructure, faculty, exposure, internships, placements, etc. JIPMER stands on top of the other two colleges.
