JIPMER

Likes

Jipmer is a very large campus surrounded by lush greenery spread over many acres.
We have many facilities like basketball court, tennis, swimming pool, gym,table tennis, futsal court and many more
Since it is a very reputed hospital, there is good patient exposure and we can get more clinical practice.

Dislikes

Very few holidays and leave cannot be taken often due to attendance shortage
Swimming pool facilities can be availed only if there is membership which costs 300 per month
Less co-curricular activities. Only few programs occur in jipmer which are mostly conducted by students itself

Most allied health course in the country does not have dissection in their curriculum, in jipmer ahs students also have to study practical aspect as well. From second year onwards we are posted in our respective departments and classes are given by the professors and residents in the cardiology department

Bachelor of medical laboratory science is a 4 year course which includes intership of 6 months with stiphend . It covers all the important studies required for a lab such as microbiology, pathology , biochemistry, anatomy,physiology and community medicine etc .

Likes

Best quality education,Wide exposure to clinical subjects,
Parks, Wifi, 24/7 library access, laboratory facilities

Dislikes

Discrimination is high , language problem will be there

Best curriculum, with updated, current topics, The teaching method also helpful in hand practice after the course . They give Seminar, assignment, assessment to test the understanding of students,. 3 hours of exam duration for 100 marks

-adequate number of practical and theory hours are alloted for each subject -100% clinical attendance is mandatory to pass the course -the teaching methods could be more innovative -internal exams from time to time and final exam at the end of academic year

We get well scheduled classes.For each department they have specific subjects and proper attendance is maintained

The curriculum is being improvised every year by our Dean and it is a good thing to change for the betterment. The curriculum which we are following have theory and practical classes with best clinical exposure. This is a productive method for us to learn when we are observing in 1sst year.

Likes

It was nice only.we have got many friends with good values.and having helping mentslities
About cocurricar activities..iam so happy they are promoting for that.
About the spandan program which is happening once in a year

Dislikes

About some social problems we are facing
About there is no politics in jipmer campus
Some facilities like campus palcement are not available

Likes

College has brilliant faculty members and infrastructure
We can do internship in same hospital and clinical exposure
Wi-fi enabled classrooms and Air conditioned

Dislikes

Hostel mess is very poor and not tasty .
High traffic in pondicherry areas and no traffic police control

The course curriculum of jipmer is very relevant . It gives an overall view about the course and jipmer . It conveys all the details of the 4 year course . About the subjects we have to study and about the exams and all Exams will be conducted between 2 or 3 months gap and 3 IA will be there and 1 send up examination and 1 University exam

Likes

The campus the teaching process their strict curriculum
Infrastructure is good having separate academic for mbbs and nursing college
They give us stipend after 3.5 years of studying the course placement also we get

Dislikes

The other unfair thing is reservation roule to take admission

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum have anatomy physiology radiation physics microbiology, pathology . This is needed to gain knowledge in this course . This course has many future facilities and job assurance.future higher studies and job opportunities are pretty well in this course.our college is good in conducting the routine practical as well theory classes as well as department duty from the first year onwards to expertise is in our particular course.This have exact syllabus for gaining proper knowledge and foundation course to face the job requirements eligibility.The exams are taken regularly with internal assessment that is helpful our teachers help us clearing doubts and they help to understand a topic explaining with slides and practicals. Moreover this create a student well for his future challenge in getting jobs.

Does Jipmer have BSc courses?

I liked the campus surrounding with such a great scenery
Jipmer has separate blocks for each kind of patients ( like women and children hospital especially for pregnant women's & their childrens )
Cafeteria - Jipmer itself has 2 to 3 cafeteria running currently with good food and snacks provided especially for the students and staffs

Dislikes

Large campus size so you need to walk for longer distance

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Bsc Anesthesia technology because I liked to work in operation theatres rather than in wards. 3 tests( internal assessments )are conducted every 3 month ( with the portions covered till the 3 months of duration)and 20 % from each is accounted for the final examination. A model exam is conducted at the end of 3 tests and 20 % from this is taken for the finals. The final examination accounts for 60% and the remaining 40% are considered from the above mentioned tests. A 75% mandatory attendance is required overall to appear in the final examination. And if it is less than 75% the student is detained for the particular subject in which he/she has low attendance % and is allowed to write the exams (3 tests + 1 model exam + finals ) with more than 75% attendance. Teaching is professionally done by the professors, JRs & SRs of Jipmer. Classes are taken in the Jipmer academic centre for the first year and for the next 2 years classes are taken by your departments we chose.

The college atmosphere and ambience.. the infrastructure nd facilities
The campus life is more good..the chances of placement are high..
The faculty are very nice and provide adequate knowledge....

Dislikes

The college academic is a bit stressful..

The curriculum very well prepares us for the real world.. here we are given practice at the hospital where we learn a number of nursing skills, the faculties are skilled and experienced.. The syllabus has changed now which includes new scopes for nurses to achieve new heights such as forensic nursing etc

Academically, I gained exposure to a vast variety of cases. This has worked to enhance my confidence as a medical professional.

In the Pediatrics ward, you may visit the neonatal ICU, and see how sick newborns are taken care of. You may attempt resuscitation on a baby. You may conduct deliveries in the Labour room, and perform minor sutures. You may interact with cancer patients, and others suffering from life threatening illnesses. You may work in the surgical emergency department.You’ll witness many births and deaths.

I secured 548 marks(GEN) in neet 2022 and I want to pursue Bsc Nursing. Which college should i choose from JIPMER,LHMC,RAKCON? I want to work abroad after my nursing degree. I am from Maharashtra. Please help me regarding these. I am very confused what college to choose as I am eligible for all the colleges.

All the three insitiutes are popular and good for pursuing B.Sc Nursing program. But considering the factors such as infrastructure, faculty, exposure, internships, placements, etc. JIPMER stands on top of the other two colleges.
