The class room environment is very in my College , all the the batchmates are supportive , engagement with campus life seems interesting like attending webinars and seminars for skill development
The faculty's expertise in teaching is very good , teaching method is practical and demonstrations based
College infrastructure are good , campus amenities like wifi in all over the campus , better quality furniture, security camera in all the corridor, projector with screen , mike with sound in the classroom

Dislikes

There should be leniency in the attendance , there should be less no. Of assignment
There is no placement for nursing students or nursing interns
There is lack of efficiency in the paperwork in the offices regarding students work

Students view on course curriculum

There is job security in this course lots of vacancies in the government hospitals are available The job perspective is very good and pay scale is very good that's why I choose this course There is regular seminar and webinar for students personal and professional development. There should be more teachers for practical labs to teach practical skills to students Exams are conducted in every 2 months the internal exam duration is 1.5 hour and final university exam is 3 hours Difficulty level is moderate in University exam and Easy in internal exam

The fees I paid in one year is Rs.19900 At the time of admission the tution fees, caution fees, registration fees, admission, development fees, lab fees, and the other compulsory charges during the course completion is 40000 for General candidates and 34600 for SC(ST/OBC candidates. The amount of scholarship students received is total reimbursement of fees and extra expenses from UP government Scholarship and also from National Scholarship Program

Room is available for 3 students in a single room There is almirah and table, chair , bed provided Also Fan and light provided , Meal quality is not very good and but quantity is enough Variety of foods available in the Menu according to the Day it changes both non veg and veg available Registration Process for hostel at the time of admission a form is given students have to fill and submit it to proctor office .

Students view on faculties

There 6-7 teachers in one batch of 100 students, faculty students relationship is very good and all the faculty's are easily approcahable Some of the polite nature faculties they are very supportive to students regarding studies, assignment, exams and in various activities. Some faculties I don't like because they are not coperative, they didn't understand students issues regarding attendance, exams , assignments and presentation.

How to get admission in the college and what sets the college stand out ?

I had applied Various Nursing colleges such as RML , SGPGI , GSVM, KGMU and UPUMS in the counselling process of Atal Bihari Vajpayee University entrance examination on the basis of my rank and number I got College of Nurisng , King George's medical University It is the best college for nursing No I haven't got any rejection from other colleges because I got this college in the counselling process Admission process of my College is firstly you have to give UPCNET Entrance and take participation in Counseling and after college allotment you have to go for admission in the chosen college. Eligibility criteria is students have 12th passed from Bio Stream and more than 50% scoring in the board exams. Cutt offs for General Candidates is more 180/200 and more than 135/200 for SC /ST/OBC candidates.

Patient input in our college is also very high
College campus is very nice if you love greenery ,otherwise infrastructure wise it is not so good ,

There is only 1 fest which is celebrated in our college , which is also not so big
Infrastructure is very poor , no cafeterias

I got this college on the basis of my neet ug ranking, it hold 3rd postion in the state after kgmu and rml , faculties are one of the best , clinical skill that you learn from here is also very best , various internal examination take place in each year, which is followed by a professional examination every year

I got IMS BHU for BDS But I opted KGMU As there is no comparison between BDS and MBBS students in this college. Every faculty treats us equally But in BHU , there's a lot of comparison between BDS student and MBBS students. Through neet only we can get this college I got it as my score was 640/720 . Cutoffs are very high as this is one of the most prestigious college in uttar pradesh.

Ok...so i gave cuet too so i got admitted to english hons at main campus of bhu then due to some reason i left bhu mainly it was an open campus Then i got admitted to ramjas for eng hons only Then at last I'm here at kgmu So to get in kgmu U need to give neet ug Which is a 720 mark paper In 3 hrs u need to write 180 mcqs- 4 mark per mcq 45 in each subject Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology U'll get +4 for right ans and -1 for wrong And for kgmu mbbs is on 680+ Bds on 630+ So it was a bit adventures journet though ????

I didn't apply for other colleges I got admission in the KGMU through Entrance Examination I chose this college because its no. 1 nursing college in Uttar Pradesh I didn't get rejected from any other colleges I haven't applied for any other colleges Admission process is through Entrance exam conducted by ABVMU , eligibility is students have to pass 12th from biology, chemistry and physics UPCNET exams are accepted for my college , cutoff for these exams are 130+ for SC /OBC/ST and 170+ for General Candidates Admission is easy process and students have to Pass the Entrance and then Crack the entrance and then Counselling happens in which students got their college and then they have to Go for Documents Verification and admission in the college

The college provide opportunities in every field like research, sports, events and fests and have the integrity of holding the highest ranking for so many years.

Dislikes

There is not as such to dislike in this college for there is ample facility and top notch academics.

Admission:

The overall ranking and academic success of this college was of highest level. Being the best college in the state it's quite difficult to score the required marks, but I was fortunate enough to get this college through my neet ranking of 2586. Also state councelling provide benefits to students having up domicile .

Which college should I choose - IMS BHU or KGMU Lucknow?

In my opinion, IMS BHU is a better option than KGMU Lucknow. Here are a few strong reasons to support my opinion

IMS BHU is under the central government, unlike KGMU which is under the State Government. So it’s not affected by the unpredictability of different rules brought by the government.
IMS BHU has only a smaller batch size than KGMU which translates to better student-teacher ratio and also more exposure.
IMS BHU has an internal PG reservation while KGMU has a State reservation. PG reservation isn’t very appealing because most toppers choose AIIMS.
IMS BHU is under the central government so it offers more stipend as compared to KGMU.
KGMU has a more urban life while Varanaari offers a more traditional and peaceful life perfect for nature lovers.
IMS BHU Medical ranking by Outlook is 2 out of 13 colleges in India in 2023 while that of KGMU is 4 out of 13
KGMU’s biggest con is the rural service bond of 2 years for UG while IMS BHU does not have any rural service bond because it is not under the state government.
KGMU has a better infrastructure surrounded by a green campus.

Both the colleges are excellent in their own way but if I had to choose one, I would have chosen IMS BHU.

How much stipend is given to JR of KGMU Lucknow?

The medical colleges paying the highest stipend are AIIMS, KGMU, SGPGI, and RMLIMS. The 7ty pay commission was implemented in August 2019. From the information I gained from various sources, the Gross salary at KGMU is about I NR 106K per month for junior Residents. The inhand salary of a JR at KGMU after deduction of TDS, is 95K given that you are not living in the hostel.

Usually, residents in state colleges receive 40–50K per month, which is very low considering the workload of junior resident doctors. So, compared to that KGMU pays its JRs pretty well.

Life as a medico at KGMU Lucknow is very vibrant and unexpectedly fun. You will enjoy your time here thoroughly and create some amazing memories.

Campus : The white building is beautiful and charming. You will be in awe of the beauty of the campus. It's safe to say that KGMU is the most beautiful medical college.
Lecture theatres : The lecture halls are fully air-conditioned and you grow attached to them. The favorable learning experience is also why the students have a good attendance record.
Hostels : Boys are allotted double occupancy rooms in the NCV hall during 1st year while girls are allotted triple occupancy rooms in the VL hall. The mess food is average like any other college.
College life : There are a lot of restrictions during the initial months and you might feel disappointed. But after a few months, things get better and you are given freedom considerably. They are made to attend various conferences held in KGMU. The campus life is made more vibrant by events like Sports Week. There is a huge SP Ground for cricket, basketball, football, Holi Celebration, etc
Outside the campus, there are many places to explore. There are many restaurants, cafes, lounges, clubs, and malls in Lucknow. Additionally, KGMU has the best clinics due to the huge patient load. It has the biggest museum in the Anatomy Department in the country.

So life here is very dynamic and fun!

My sister is a student at KGMU so this answer is based on her experience only.

KGMU is the largest Residential Medical University in India offering a wide variety of medical courses. The entire academic framework is formed by a total of 75 departments. Additionally, KGMU also offers several clinical pieces of training including ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and ATCN to improve the clinical skills of healthcare workers.
The institute organizes frequent national and international conferences
KGMU has an unending list of achievements, some of them being; that it's the first government university to establish an exclusive Critical Care Medicine Department; it's also the first to offer an MD course in ‘Hospital Administration’ in North India. Moreover, its Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (DPMR) is the largest multidisciplinary inpatient tertiary care rehabilitation hospital in North India.
The research culture at KGMU is unmatched and it’s the hub of research activities for various WHO, ICMR, DBT, and UPCST projects. The hospital receives huge research funds and many of the studies are collaborated with medical schools abroad. The annual publications of a few of the faculties exceed that of any decent college’s total publications.
The patient flow here is huge and it caters to an almost 20-crore population of the entire north India. On average, KGMU has 10,000 patients every day. The patient inflow and the clinical exposure we get are just unparalleled.
KGMU has churned out many great scientists and clinicians. Many alumni hold high positions overseas including senior faculty and research posts in the USA, UK, Australia, and Gulf countries. Many of our alumni are Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awardees.
Every UG or PG student and faculty has access to UpToDate, Nature Research, Clinical Key, SpringerLink, JAYPEEDIGITAL, Clinical Learning, BMJ Case Reports, BMJ Best Practice, and ERMED Consortium.
KGMU has a separate Placement Cell consisting of several students and faculties. This cell offers academic and non-academic guidance.
KGMU has Foreign Exchange Programs with several universities abroad.
Every year, the ‘MBBS Student Research Award’ is awarded to a UG student who has published the first authored article in a national or international journal.

Overall, KGMU is an excellent medical college at par with AIIMS.

In what order would you rank MAMC, KGMU, AFMC, IMS-BHU, CMC & Grant Medical College?

I will try to answer your query and provide some additional information.

After the top most colleges- AIIMS, PGI, JIPMER, NIMHANS and SGPGI, these are the colleges you should try for- Medical colleges in Delhi are the best choice. Out of these, MAMC is the most desirable. It is followed by VMMC, LHMC and UCMS. Then come the medical colleges in Mumbai. KEM is a top medical college, followed by Sion and Grant. Colleges of Kerala and Madras are at par with one another. But Madras Medical College is the best among these. AFMC and CMC Vellore are great for patients, but not so much for the students.

Thus, MAMC is a great choice. I do not possess much knowledge of KGMU and IMS BHU, so I haven’t talked about them.

How is the mess at KGMU Lucknow?

The mess at KGMU Lucknow serves average quality food so you can keep your expectations low. However, there are many eateries around the hostel. A cafeteria serves delicious macaroni and sandwiches. There is a Nescafé Canteen too. The Paediatric Canteens Cheese Paratha is a must. Two other great options are the “1905 Canteen” Shatabdi Doctors Mess.

The food served in the new CV hostel is pretty good though. The other hostels don’t have good food though. But you can always find other hygienic and affordable food options on campus.

What are the drawbacks of doing MBBS from KGMU?

Here are a few drawbacks of pursuing an MBBS from KGMU

KGMU does not have an academic environment and research culture at par with the Delhi colleges like JIPMER and CMC Vellore.
KGMU has a very rigid and rigorous curriculum sparing no time for students to do MCQ for PG while in most colleges, the classroom sessions are less so they have more time to indulge in MCQ. So most KGMU passouts are great doctors but are less practiced for the PG exam.

However, these cons can easily be overlooked considering the unending pros the institute has to offer.

What is the 2-year bond at KGMU?

The UP State government has imposed a compulsory 2-year rural service bond under which the students pursuing MBBS, MD, MS, BDS, MDS, DM, and McH courses from government medical colleges of UP have to work in rural health centers for 2 years after completing their MBBS. To spare yourself from this bond you should

Get selected for a higher course right after completing your UG course. For example, right after completing MBBS, get selected in MD on the first attempt. Your rural posting is then delayed, not canceled.
The next way is to pay the entire bond amount, which is 10 lakh for MBBS, 40 lakh for MD, and 1 crore for DM.

What is the dress code for girls at KGMU?

MBBS students at KGMU don’t have a uniform.

Girls have to wear a white full sleeves apron. First year girl students are required to wear a lengthier apron with 6 buttons. Others wear a normal lower waist length apron with the monogram of King George's Medical University.

Though it isn’t a rule, girls wear ethnic kurtis paired with salwar/leggings. It is what the students prefer to wear. This gives a more professional and decent appearance.
