How are hostel facilities in KGMU, Lucknow for MBBS students?

KGMU has some of the best hostel facilities among UP government medical colleges. First-year students are allotted a new C.V. hostel for boys and a V.L. hall for girls. New C.V. This hostel has double occupancy rooms and has the best facilities. The rooms are well-maintained and hygiene is maintained through regular cleaning and moping of washrooms. The food served in the mess is average. Here is what the New C.V. hall looks like T.G. hostel Second-year boys are transferred to the T.G. hostel which is 1–2 km away outside campus. The hostel is an 8-story apartment-like building. The hostel has single occupancy rooms for everyone with a recreation room. The recreation room has pool tables and T.T. Tables, a 2 dumble and one barbell gym, and a canteen. This hostel has average cleaning facilities. This is what the hostel looks like S.P. Hostel For the remaining years, the students are allotted are S.P. hostel on the campus itself. It's a huge hostel with double occupancy rooms. It has amazing sports facilities like a badminton court, gym, a T.T. room and an attached ground and basketball court with it. PG students are allotted the Nehru P.G. hostel, Gautam Buddha, and Mahamaya hostel which offers a lavish and comfortable hostel lifestyle. Overall, despite being a government college, KGMU has excellent hostel facilities.

Here are a few drawbacks of pursuing an MBBS from KGMU KGMU does not have an academic environment and research culture at par with the Delhi colleges like JIPMER and CMC Vellore. KGMU has a very rigid and rigorous curriculum sparing no time for students to do MCQ for PG while in most colleges, the classroom sessions are less so they have more time to indulge in MCQ. So most KGMU passouts are great doctors but are less practiced for the PG exam. However, these cons can easily be overlooked considering the unending pros the institute has to offer.

Internal Reservation- JNMC offers 50% internal PG quota, which is completely free of caste based reservation. This is beneficial if you plan to pursue PG after your graduation. Also, you’ll have better chances of getting clinical seats here at around 23k AIR. Rural Bond- Unlike KGMU, JNMC doesn’t come under the two year rural bond. This is a big relief in itself. Location- Location wise though, Lucknow is far more developed than Aligarh. You may choose JNMC (AMU) over any of these top colleges of UP- KGMU, RMLIMS, GSVM, MLN and LLRM. Here are 10 things I would tell a student who is about to start MBBS from KGMU- It is an excellent college which will help you become a skilled medical professional. Stay away from caste based politics. Do not attend caste and category based meets. Be liberal and respect all your colleagues, regardless of their caste/region/religion. Do attend OPDs, clinical posting and present cases. This will provide you with a lot of experience. Non vegetarians have much more food options than vegetarians. But even as a vegetarian, you will get good meals. Do visit Hazratganj. Sitting on a bench in the evenings and watching passersby is the best thing to do there. Explore the sports room, gym and library of Sardar Patel Hostel. Chakraborty hostel has a nice swimming pool. Lucknow is an amazing city, do explore it. Start your PG entrance preparation early on. The state of UPPG exams is bad, but don’t lose hope, you still have a good chance elsewhere. Studies must be your first priority. Remember all these things, study well, and make the most of your stay at KGMU.

Which is better to join for an MBBS, GMC Patiala, GMC Mumbai, Seth GS Medical College, KGMU, or GMCH Chandigarh?

Based on the opinions within the medical community, I will provide some information on these colleges- GSMC- It is a highly renowned college. High rankers in UG and PG entrance choose it for pursuing their medical studies. Clinical teaching is very good over here. Grant Medical College Mumbai- It is one of the top 10 medical colleges of India. But its fees have skyrocketed recently. The campus is not in a good shape too. However, this college is one of the only 5 colleges whose degrees are approved in Singapore. So if you plan to pursue your PG abroad, a degree from GMC Mumbai will open the doors of Singapore for you. KGMU- It is one of the best medical colleges in North India, and especially UP. It is well reputed, and the campus is really good. The infrastructure is top notch, better than most government colleges. The teachers are decent, and the students are hardworking. You’ll get a good clinical exposure over here. For an outsider though, adjusting to the UP culture might be a little difficult at first. I don’t know much about GMC Patiala and GMCH Chandigarh, so I won’t comment on these two. Make sure to choose a college with hardworking students. Good company will motivate you to study harder and excel in your field. Food and language barriers aren’t much of a problem in the long run.

I will try to answer this query as per my limited knowledge. As for GMC, its teaching standards have declined. The classes aren’t as rich as in previous times. Even the study culture isn’t as good now. Only the brand name remains. Because of this, GSMC is currently much better ranked than GMC. So if you are from Lucknow, choose KGMU over GMC Mumbai. MBBS is quite stressful, and homely support does a lot for mental health. Both GSMC and KGMU are good medical colleges. Choosing between these is a bit difficult. Research on the condition of PG reservation at Maharashtra colleges, and Provincial Health Services (PHS) rule in UP. This will help you make a better decision. Both GSMC Mumbai and KGMU are excellent choices.Choose between the two based on various factors that I have listed above.

The faculty are of highest standard and also the exams pattern and syllabus are strictly in accordance to the curriculum defined by the National medical council.

Since I am from UR category my feelings structure are as follows - First year -54600/- Second year -30900/- Third year -30900/- Fourth year -30900/- These are the fees structure for UR category student and the students who take admission from All india Quota. The structure varies for other categories like obc,sc and st. The fees structure for obc,st and sc category are - First year- 45600/- Second year - 23600/- Third year -23600/- Fourth year -23600/- State scholarship available if the criteria for scholarship are fulfilled.

MBBS is for 4 years.. first year fees are Rs 34000 including hostel fees.The fees for 2nd year is 28000 along with the hostel fees, 3rd year fees also approx 30000. 4th year fees 320000. There is no separate expense there..But every month the mess charge is Rs. 3500. Scholarship is given to eligible students every year of approximately Rs. 32000.

The best of all ASMCs

It is one of the highest ranked Autonomous state medical college in uttar pradesh, the annual fee for general category is 26000 in 1st year and 24000 for the rest of three years. For OBC and SC,ST it is 17000 for 1st year and 13000 for the rest of 3 years. There is a paid internship of stipend 12000 for 12 months after 4.5 years of MBBS, after which one has to serve the bond as Junior Resident doctor for 2 years with a monthly salary of approximately 100000 . There is a hostel fee of Rs.4800 annually and no other charges are to be paid.

Medical college things

Fee structure for all autonomous medical colleges of Uttar pradesh for general is 28800 and for others 18800 annually which includes 4600 as hostel fees. For first year it may vary because of refundable security money .It was 36000 in my college during my first year . Government of uttar pradesh also provide scholarship for students upto 51000 to elligible candidates. For general category it's upto 51000 , for OBC it is 41000 and for sc/st it is 36000 . Mess charges are not included in the above mentioned fee details . It is 3600 per month in my college .

A lively college

So I m currently studying in Rani durgavati medical College banda or simply Gmc banda . So it is situated in banda far away from the city . It's campus is very huge . Like it comprises academic building, libraries, gymnasium, a large auditorium well furnished,.It also has its own hospital inside campus that is very good. So total fees of 1st year mbbs for gen category is 36000 only .Hostel fess is 4800 which includes both room rent as well as electricity for whole year . Fees for other categories is 30000 and hostel fees is same for all the categories. students also get the scholarship ammount yearly .

For general category, the fees for mbbs first year is approx. forty seven thousand five hundred which includes admission fees ,developmental fees and other compulsory charges during the whole year. For category students (SC/ST/OBC), the fees for mbb s first year is approx. Thirty eight thousand six hundred which includes admission fees, developmental fees and other compulsory charges during the whole year. There are many types of scholarship available in our college , like for girls, there is a kotak kanya scholarship program. There is also a different type of scholarship for obc students to which our college is giving opportunity to eligible students. We can also apply for the up state government scholarship. And many type of non government organizations scholarships are also available .

An all inclusive review including both positive and negative both aspects.

In anatomy there are one cadiver for every 30 student which is a very great ratio when compared to another state colleges.

The university is very strict in relation to the attendance of the student especially the biochemistry department.
The lecture period is two large that it does not gives a time to support self study or aur other curricular activities but they provide lectures for extra curricular sports yoga which is a good thing.

For first year I paid - For tution- 38600(include registration admission in development and lab fee) For hostel and maintenance - 2400 (for two sharing room) And other 1000 to 1500 rupees for every department which is anatomy, physiology, biography. It means almost equal in all the five years. You can avail to the government (UP government or Central government) and other private scholarship facilities and college also provide a scholership program based on the attendance criteria for OBC students.
