Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS), popular with the name U.P. Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, is a state medical university established in 2016 in Saifai by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The university is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI), Dental Council of India (DCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and University Grant Commission (UGC). The university is accredited with NAAC, IQAC, and NABL and affiliated with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur.
UPUMS has five major faculties namely, medical, dental, paramedical sciences, nursing, and pharmacy. MBBS, BSc Nursing, MD, MS, MDS, MCh, BPT, BRIT and BOT are some of the major courses offered at the university. The university also offers Diploma programs in Nursing and Paramedical streams that are affiliated with the State Medical Faculty, Lucknow. For admission to the MBBS at UPUMS, candidates need to have a valid score in NEET UG. The university offers 200 seats annually for the MBBS program, 15% of which are reserved under the All India Quota and the remaining under the State Quota. Candidates must qualify for NEET PG and NEET MDS for admission to MD/MS and MDS, respectively, at UPUMS. Admission to B.Sc (Nursing), B.Sc (Paramedical), BPT, and BOT are based on the Combined Paramedical, Pharmacy, and Nursing Entrance Test (CPNET) conducted by UPUMS. Students are offered admission to MCh based on scores obtained in NEET SS. UPUMS Admission 2024
UPUMS Admission 2024 for UG courses such as MBBS is based on NEET UG, while admission to BSc Nursing, BPharm, BMLT, BRIT, BPT, and BOT is based on CPNET. For admission to postgraduate courses such as MD/MS and MDS, an individual needs to clear NEET PG and NEET MDS, respectively. Candidates need to qualify for the NEET SS exam for admission to MCh.
