LHMC FAQs
Ques. Are there extracurricular or non-academic opportunities at LHMC?
Ans. Absolutely. LHMC has a vibrant student culture. The college organizes ‘Pulse’, its annual fest, which sees participation from top colleges in Delhi and across India. There are student-run clubs for dramatics, music, literature, and even research. Many students also intern at research institutes like ICMR during breaks, which boosts both CV and interest in academic medicine.
Ques. Do LHMC students face language or cultural barriers, especially if they’re from non-Hindi backgrounds?
Ans. Initially, non-Hindi speakers (especially from South India or Northeast) may find the patient interaction in Hindi a bit challenging. But seniors and faculty are supportive, and within the first year, most students pick up enough conversational Hindi to handle history-taking and clinical exams confidently. The campus culture itself is inclusive, with students from across the country forming close bonds.
Ques. Are there any restrictions unique to being a women-only institution?
Ans. Not significantly, but yes, being an all-girls college means strict hostel timings and curfews. Entry and exit logs are maintained, and late-night outings usually need parental permission. However, within the campus, students feel safe and free. The all-female environment actually boosts confidence in clinical interactions and encourages open participation in academics and events.
