How is life in LHMC? Is there ragging racism? What are the societies there?

Life at LHMC is a mix of hard work and fun experiences. The MBBS program is rigorous, with frequent exams and a lot of content to cover, but the faculty is excellent and always ready to help. We have a lively campus life with events like Splash and Cobweb, which really bring everyone together.

From my experience, there's no significant ragging or racism; the environment feels quite inclusive. The societies, like the dance society Viola and the music society Aarohana, are very active and add to the overall experience.

Life at LHMC is quite vibrant and full of opportunities. The college hosts two major fests: Splash, an intercollege event, and Cobweb, which is more focused on academic activities. The faculty is highly qualified and supportive, so while the MBBS course is challenging, it’s manageable with their help. There’s a good mix of academic and extracurricular activities, and the campus life is generally enjoyable. As for ragging or racism, I haven't personally experienced any issues, and it seems to be a supportive environment overall.

I spent about 5.5 years at LHMC and honestly, life there is what you make of it. While I often wondered when my med student days would end, I find myself missing it every day! It's a welcoming place where you can form strong friendships. The support and sisterhood from seniors are incredible. You'll make lifelong friends and learn to handle various life situations. I truly feel it helped me grow as a person.

There are clubs for everything—dance, drama, sports, fashion, debating—you name it, they've got it. Plus, if you have an idea for something new, there's a chance to create it. When I started in 2012, there wasn't a debate club. A senior initiated it, and we were the first group to join and become a part of it. Now, I feel proud of how far our debating club has come.

Being a med student isn't easy anywhere, so LHMC can be challenging too. But looking back, every bit of the hard work is absolutely worth it!

As a first-year student moving into the second, I feel I can share my thoughts on this.

Life at LHMC: It's kind of dull. Apart from the usual college activities, there's not much happening. Academics is the main focus here, and everyone is quite dedicated. There's a strong emphasis on tests and tutorials to keep students on track, but it doesn't really make studying medicine exciting or appealing.

Extracurricular Activities: There are several societies like dance, drama, fashion, fine arts, photography, and sports. They're active and participate in various competitions and events. It's a nice way to meet seniors and make friends. However, these societies aren't typically places where you'll learn a new skill or deeply explore a talent, which is why many students, especially first-years, eventually stop participating.

Ragging: As someone who doesn't stay in the hostel, I haven't faced any ragging. Hostel students might encounter it, but it's usually mild and nothing alarming. The seniors at Hardinge are actually quite supportive, which is one of the best things about the college.

Racism: I haven't noticed or experienced any racism. People are generally friendly, and the campus has a positive atmosphere. The college has a strong reputation, and the location is a big plus—it's really hard to get bored there.
