I believe that NIT Trichy ECE is significantly better than DTU ECE. The number of placement offers doesn't fully reflect the value of a department. There are several factors to consider:

  • Research opportunities
  • Academic excellence
  • Placement percentage (which is quite different from the number of offers)
  • Quality of faculty

The faculty in the ECE department at NIT Trichy are among the best in the country, boasting substantial research experience. Additionally, the alumni network provides excellent support to current students in the ECE department. In light of these factors, DTU does not measure up to NIT Trichy.

P.S: A large number of students in a single department may lead to more placement offers, but that doesn't necessarily mean the placement percentage is comparably high.

DTU's B.Tech in Computer Engineering offers a higher ROI with an average package of 15 LPA and a placement rate of 98%, which is impressive given the fees structure around 2.3 Lakhs per year. Meanwhile, NIT Trichy's B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is also a solid choice, but details on placements and packages are less clear. If you’re looking for a more lucrative tech career with strong campus placement support, DTU might be the smarter financial choice. However, if you have a passion for core electrical engineering and the potential for good placements, NIT Trichy could also be a great investment. Ultimately, pick DTU for better immediate returns or NIT Trichy if you prefer the electrical field.

Definitely go for ECE at DTU! It has a much bigger brand name. Being in Delhi means you're always close to companies, and DTU gets more visibility. The campus is beautiful, seniors are very helpful, and there's better scope for further studies abroad.

I'm an ECE student at DTU and I received a package of 28 lakhs per annum from Microsoft. And that's not even the highest package in ECE! At DTU, you can also sit for software companies. I strongly suggest choosing DTU!

Both DTU and NIT Trichy have their unique strengths, but if I had to choose, I’d lean towards NIT Trichy for Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The faculty there seems to be highly experienced and dedicated, which can significantly enhance the learning experience. While DTU offers a good placement rate for Computer Engineering, the campus life at NIT Trichy appears to be vibrant with a focus on extracurricular activities, which can be crucial for overall development. DTU's curriculum seems more theory-oriented, while NIT Trichy emphasizes practical applications, making it ideal for those who want hands-on experience. So, if you're looking for a strong engineering foundation with excellent faculty and campus life, go for NIT Trichy; if you’re more keen on tech placements and a bustling campus vibe, DTU could be the right fit.

DTU’s B.Tech in Computer Engineering has a fantastic placement record, with big companies like Google and Samsung offering an average package of 15 LPA and a highest package of 82 LPA, along with a 98% placement percentage in tech branches. NIT Trichy's B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is also strong, but the data on placements isn't as robust, which makes it harder to gauge its competitive edge. If you're aiming for a tech-centric career with strong company connections and high packages, DTU would be the better choice. However, if you’re more inclined towards electrical engineering and value a solid theoretical foundation, NIT Trichy is still a great option. Ultimately, it boils down to your interests and career goals!
