NEET Result 2024 Scam: Following the NEET Result 2024 declaration, a few controversies have arisen regarding grace marks, high cut-offs. In the beginning, the exam authority did not respond to the controversy. However, due to relentless pressure from the opposition and students, NTA clarified in a press conference on 8th June, “The loss of examination time was ascertained, and such candidates were compensated with grace marks. So, their marks can be 718 or 719 also”. This clarification from NTA officials led to further controversy. Some students claimed that it is not even possible to obtain 718 or 719 in exams Under current NEET 2024 Marking Scheme.
- Amidst the NEET Result 2024 Controversy Calcutta High Court has ordered NTA to give a response within 10 days with an affidavit explaining the discrepancy. At the same time it has declared a stay order in NEET counselling 2024.
- Supporting the Medical aspirants, NSUI (The National Students' Union of India) has demanded CBI probe in NEET Result Scam and reexamination.
At the press conference, General Subodh Kumar Singh(NTA Director)has denied all the allegations against the paper leak by stating, “We have thoroughly analysed all aspects and declared the results. Issues were confined to six centres out of 4,750, affecting only 1,600 out of 24 lakh candidates. The overall integrity of the exam was maintained nationwide, and our review found no evidence of a paper leak." He also added that, “Only one question affected [the students] this time. So many questions are prepared, out of 1,563 students who were reassessed, 790 students qualified. 13 lakh students overall qualified. Those who have compensated with grace marks have not affected the overall percentage of marks”.
Here is what made the students raise their voice against the ‘NEET 2024 Result Scam’.

NEET 2024: Grace Marks Controversy
Some NEET students have also obtained 718 and 719 marks. According to the students, if the exam authority follows the proper guideline of the NEET Exam Pattern 2024 (+4 for right attempt and -1 for wrong attempt) then obtaining 718 and 719 marks is almost impossible. Alakh Pandey, owner of PhysicsWallah coaching, came in support of such students by demanding the explanation of normalisation criteria in NEET.
