Maharashtra BTech admission 2025 is based on your performance in the MHT CET or JEE Main entrance exams. The admission process is conducted by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra.

What are the eligibility criteria for BTech in Maharashtra?
The State CET Cell sets the eligibility criteria for Btech admission in Maharashtra. You can check the eligibility below.
Maharashtra State Candidature
- You must be an Indian citizen.
- You must have passed class 12 with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects along with chemistry/ biology or other subjects as mentioned by the CET Cell.
- You must have obtained at least 45% marks in class 12.
- Candidates belonging to reserved categories, EWS and PwD from the Maharashtra state must score 40% marks.
- You should have appeared in the PCM MHT-CET 2025 and obtained a non-zero score.
- Candidates with a 3-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology and 45% marks. (40% marks for reserved categories, EWS and PwD) can also apply.
- Candidates with a DVoc in the same or allied sector can also apply.

What is the Maharashtra BTech Admission 2025 reservation policy?
You can only avail reservation benefits if you belong to the Maharashtra state for BTech admission. You have to fulfil the eligibility criteria for reservation. You can check the reservation percentage for different categories in the following table.

What are Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) seats?
TFWS seats are specialised seats that are provided only to Maharashtra candidates. Your parent’s annual income should be less than INR 8 LPA from all sources to be eligible. You have to submit an income certificate issued by the appropriate authority.
These seats are allotted by the competent authority as inter-se merit. You have to fill out the application form and a separate merit list for this is released following the same criteria as for the Maharashtra state candidates. Seats up to a maximum of 5% of sanctioned intake per course are available. It is only limited to the tuition fee.
How is the MHT CET counselling done for BTech?
The Maharashtra BTech counselling is based on Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds. The government, government-aided institutions, unaided private professional educational institutions, university departments and university-managed institutions admit candidates through the CAP rounds. It involves the following stages.
- Display of provisional merit list.
- Display of category-wise seat matrix for CAP rounds.
- Filling up and online option confirmation by candidates. You can fill up to 300 choices in decreasing order of preference.
- Display of provisional allotment of the respective CAP round.
- Reporting and accepting the offered seat at the Admission Reporting Centre.
- Only after reporting to the Admission Reporting Centre or by self-scrutiny of the uploaded documents, you should visit the allocated institute.
- If you are allotted a seat as per your first preference, your allotment will be frozen and you will not be eligible for the next CAP rounds.
- If you are allotted a seat other than the first preference and accept/not accept it, you will be eligible for the next CAP rounds.

How many CAP rounds are in MHT CET 2025?
MHT CET has three CAP rounds for providing admission to BTech courses. You will be allotted a seat based on your MHT CET or JEE Main score and preference. After the allotment, you can accept the seat or appear in the next round. If seats remain unfilled after the third round, additional rounds are also conducted.
