Ques. What is the current placement and package scenario in Jadavpur University for B.Tech courses?

● Top Answer By Nitin Kumar on 04 Oct 21

Ans. Jadavpur University has managed to survive the recession to give its student a handsome placement package. My friend is currently studying there and their placement happens all around the years, unlike IITs where placement happens for two weeks or so. Like most engineering colleges, CSE as usual tops the placement with their highest packages. The most popular recruiters include Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, etc. Almost 100% of students are placed in all the branches. Here are some branch-wise placement statistics for the year 2020. Departments Average Package Highest Package CSE 20.6 LPA 58 LPA (Google) IT 15 LPA 51 LPA (Shopee Singapore) EE 9.73 LPA 65 LPA (Atlassian) Mechanical Engineering 8 LPA 17.6 LPA (GAIL) Chemical Engineering 6 LPA 16.8 LPA (AB InBev) Production 7.2 LPA 22 LPA (Goldman Sachs) Another good thing at Jadavpur University is that most of the big IT/ Analytics firms do not discriminate between the branches and allow them to sit for their placements. This way, you can grab a job in any field that you would like if you develop an interest in it in your college tenure. Read more

Ques. What is the difference between BE and B.Tech?

● Top Answer By Deepika Roy on 26 Aug 22

Ans. The fundamental difference between BE and BTech is the way these courses are delivered. Contrary to the popular misconception, BE isn’t just theory oriented. Both BE and BTech coursework includes theory as well as practicals. But a BTech offers a more in-depth and advanced level study of a particular field. While BE covers the fundaments.  There are no such differences between BE and BTech, other than the course pattern. These two courses are considered equivalent. In terms of preference, your institute will matter more compared to your degree. IIT students certainly enjoy some advantages in terms of placements and higher studies.    Read more

Ques. Is Lucknow University good for B Tech?

● Top Answer By Vishal Rajput on 30 Sept 21

Ans. Lucknow University is renowned to offer a bunch of different courses, within which B.Tech is a freshly inaugurated branch that started anew in the year 2017.  Since it is extremely new in cases alike, the placements are not highly fruitful at present. In light of this fact, there is currently no alumni network as well.  Unlike many other universities, you are expected to work harder than anticipated, so as to grab a position in the job sector. Your career essentially depends upon how ready you are to prepare in the best way possible.  No amount of external guidance can assist you in gaining a fruitful career prospect, let alone the university. Prepare thoroughly while pursuing any course you are inclined towards.  You can also choose to prepare for either of the major competitive exams, GATE, CAT, IES among others. Moreover, only choose Lucknow University if you are devoid of any options. Other than that, there is absolutely no issue in joining Lucknow University. Read more

Ques. Is Amrita University good for a B.Tech? I got 2800 in the entrance exam. Is going to VIT or Amrita better?

● Top Answer By Parambrata Chatterjee on 23 Oct 23

Ans. Amrita and VIT are very different from each other. Amrita University has a controlled environment, high focus on academics, and good placements. For a bright career, Amrita is a great place. But its campus life is very dull. One has to find a source of entertainment and growth on our own. VIT offers a vibrant and lively campus. But one has to mostly rely on self study.  Both the colleges are good for a B.Tech. Make a choice based on your own caliber and priorities. Read more

Ques. How is Reva University in Banglore for B.Tech?

● Top Answer By Prarthana Gupta on 04 Oct 21

Ans. Your chances of growth get lowered at Reva University. If you have a good rank, consider other colleges. The university has invested a lot in marketing and that is why there’s hype outside.  Opt for colleges that have a lot of clubs and committees and focus gives importance to cultural activities as well. REVA University lacks this. This will not only develop your personality but also improves your CV. It is a deemed university and the curriculum is not much updated. You will get less opportunities at the university The student crowd is not good, and the people of the college are not cooperative at all. Categories REVA University Course Fee 2.25 lakh (1st year) Highest CTC 10 LPA Average CTC 4 LPA Recruiting Companies TCS and Infosys If you take admission here, you will regret your decision for sure. This is coming after all the frustration of the students due to lack of exposure, and the education it failed to provide. Read more

Ques. Is there anything good about IEM, Kolkata for a BTech? Will we get any extra advantage studying in IEM?

● Top Answer By Subhashree Nath on 22 Mar 21

Ans. A friend of mine did her BTech from IEM Kolkata and now she is working as a Cyber Security Analyst in a big firm. Here are a few things that she experienced in her duration at the college.  Unnecessary Rules: Students often complain about the unnecessary discipline enforced by the college to attend all of the lectures and seminars irrespective of their choice and usefulness. Faculty: In terms of faculty, there is a mix of average and good professors. But most of the good professors are moving to different colleges.  Placements: In the terms of placement, the data may show it as amazing but in reality, most of the students of IEM end up in mass recruiting jobs offered by any IT company. Only a few of the students end up in good companies.  If you are choosing IEM try to make the most of it. Other than college learning, try and take up some extra courses such as coding or hacking and security, it will help a lot. There are a handful of helpful faculties at IEM. Interacting and working with those professors will help a lot in going good places. Learn to utilize their time and learn new things. Learn something new and read as much as possible. If you are not happy with campus placements then you should look for off-campus placements as well.Read more

Ques. What is the fee structure of Jadavpur University B Tech?

● Top Answer By Pankaj Roy Chowdhury on 05 Oct 21

Ans. Pursuing a course at Jadavpur University is quite affordable, as opposed to other universities. It is incredible to believe that a university that ranks among the top 15 engineering colleges of India, costs less than most universities around the nation.  Here is a brief highlight of different fees in JU.  Tuition fees: Rs. 2400 per year Refundable Caution Deposit: Rs 2500 (One time) Hostel fees: Rs. 1000 per month (It includes different kinds of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals as well) Examination fees: Rs. 60 to Rs. 70 per semester Library Fine (if a book is submitted late): 6 Paisa per day for some books and 50 Paisa per day for others. This was the typical fee structure followed a few years back. Recently, there can be a 5% - 10% increment regarding the same. As per the recent update, the 1st year course fee for B.Tech at JU is 2,400.
