Online off-campus counselling is conducted by the HSTES for BTech admission. After successful registration, you can participate in the process.

The seats in BTech courses in all Government/Private Technical Institutes/ State Universities are filled against 15% RoHC up to round 2. After round 2, all the vacant seats are made to the general category for all candidates. For supernumerary seats, the counselling is conducted in parallel based on JEE Main rank.

Counselling is conducted in 2 rounds for BTech admission for all the seats of university departments, government/government-aided institutes and 75% of seats of self-financing institutes.

Counselling Round Category
1 RoHC, HOGC, HGST, SC, SC-D, BC-A, BC-B, PH, ESM, FF with 25% horizontal female reservation
2 RoHC, HOGC, HGST, SC (by merging SC and SC-D in SC), BC (by merging BC-A and BC-B in BC) and merging all ESM and FF with 25% horizontal female reservation

You can check the general steps involved in the counselling process listed below.

  • Log in on the official website and submit course details, PPP ID and Registration ID (as per JEE Main admit card).
  • Make choice filling as per your preference and lock them.
  • If you do not lock your choices, the last filled choice would be considered as final.
  • You can also edit your choices.
  • Seat allotment results will be made available on the official website.
  • Download your provisional seat allotment letter and report physically at the allocated college for admission.
  • Failing to report at the allocated college will result in the cancellation of the allotment.
  • After document verification, you will be provided a provisional admission slip by the institute confirming your admission.
  • If documents are incorrect/unavailable, the institute will issue a deficiency message. You have to again submit the correct documents to get the provisional admission slip.
  • For the upgradation of the allotted seat, you have to participate in the next counselling round.
  • If you upgrade to a new institute in the next counselling round, you will have to again deposit the admission fee for the newly allotted seat.

Private institutes fill 25% of seats at their level. They will make these admissions before the final cut-off date and can also schedule institute-level counselling events at their own level.

If the admission in government engineering colleges (SIETs) is less than 25%, the students of that college will be shifted to another government engineering college or branch as per the vacancies and directions issued by the DTE, Haryana.

Ques. What are the minimum passing marks at RGPV University for the BE program?

● Top Answer By Naveen Pillai on 01 May 26

Ans. RGPV (Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya) minimum passing marks for BE: Theory papers: minimum 40 out of 100 (40%) to pass each subject Sessional/Internal marks: minimum 40% to pass the internal component Practical/lab: minimum 40% to pass practicals Combined: for passing a subject, you need minimum marks in both theory and internal separately — you cannot compensate one with the other for promotion to the next year: you need to clear all subjects of previous year(s) or stay within ATKT rules (max 4 backlogs allowed for promotion under RGPV's scheme). check the latest RGPV examination ordinance on rgpv.ac.in for your specific batch's rules as passing criteria can vary by exam scheme.Read more

Ques. What happens if you fail in a subject in the final year of engineering at VTU?

● Top Answer By Sangeeta Vyas on 29 Apr 26

Ans. failing a subject in final year at VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University): under VTU's CBCS scheme: if you fail a subject in the final year (7th or 8th semester), you get an 'F' grade in that subject under CBCS, you are not detained — there is no year back. you can still be issued a provisional completion certificate after completing other semesters if only 7th/8th sem subjects remain you must clear the backlog(s) by appearing in subsequent attempts at the supplementary exams VTU conducts Degree not awarded until all required credits are cleared — you cannot convocate with pending backlogs you can attempt backlogs as many times as needed within the maximum 8-year program duration practical impact: if you fail 1-2 subjects in final year, you'll get your degree a semester or two later than your batchmates. for campus placements, you might be excluded from final placement drives if results are pending. address it quickly to minimize delay.Read more
