Haryana BTech admission 2025 is conducted by the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES). For admission, you have to appear in the HSTES counselling after clearing the JEE Main exam.
Registration for the 2025 session can be conducted between May - July 2025. The choice filling and seat allotment for round 1 can be done in July 2025. College reporting can be scheduled for August 2025.

What are the Haryana BTech eligibility criteria?
The eligibility criteria for the Haryana BTech admission are set by the HSTES. The general eligibility criteria are as follows.
- You should have passed class 12 with physics/ mathematics/ chemistry or other subjects as mentioned by the HSTES.
- You should have obtained 45% marks in the subjects taken together.
- Candidates belonging to the reserved category should score 40% marks.
- You are also eligible if you have passed the DVoc stream in the same or allied sector.
- Candidates with a 3-year Diploma and 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) can also apply.
- For KM, relaxation in the cut-off percentage up to 10% is subject to the minimum eligibility requirement.
- The minimum academic qualification for KM, HGST, TFW and EWS candidates is the same as mentioned above.
How can I get admission to BTech in Haryana?
HSTES conducts BTech admission in a completely online mode. You can check the general admission steps below.
- You have to sign up on the HSTES website and provide your PPP ID (Haryana state) or Aadhar number.
- Data will be fetched from the PPP ID in the application form. Haryana candidates should get their details verified or updated on the PPP portal before applying.
- Other state candidates have to provide their Aadhar number. If it is in the PPP database, they cannot register as other state candidates.
- Note the unique application number generated during sign-up.
- Fill out the application form. Details must be the same as registered in the qualifying exam.
- Upload the required documents asked during the application process.
- After submission of the online application form, pay the registration fee.
- You can also visit the CSC or government polytechnics/HSTES for application filling and fee payment.
KM seats are supernumerary and are filled based on JEE Main scores. HGST seats are also filled based on JEE Main scores out of each topper of Government Senior Secondary School offering a science stream, subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.
TFW seats are available for up to 5% of approved intake and are supernumerary. EWS seats are filled separately based on JEE Main scores. These seats are 10% of the sanctioned intake and are supernumerary.
HARIHAR candidates with EWS status approved by the District Approval Committee are considered under the EWS category for admission to technical institutes for all government/ society mode and government-aided institutes. For institute-level admission, the committee for EWS/TFW also look into the admission of such candidates.
What are the fees for Haryana BTech admission 2025?
You can only deposit the Haryana BTech registration fee through online modes like debit card, credit card, net banking and UPI. The registration fee once paid, will not be refunded (full or partial) under any circumstances. You can check the fee amount in the following table.

What is the Haryana BTech admission reservation policy?
The reservation policy notified by the Government of Haryana is applicable to the Btech admission in the state. It is only applicable to Haryana candidates. You can check the reservation percentage for different categories for government/ self-financing colleges in the following table.

For private unaided institutes, 75% of sanctioned intake is through HSTES. The remaining 25% (management quota) is based on JEE Main scores. For private unaided minority institutes, RoHC seats including NRI are 15%. 42.5% of sanctioned intake is fixed by the state government for the minority quota. The remaining 42.5% is for HOGC and the reserved categories of Haryana.

What is the Haryana BTech Counselling Process?
Online off-campus counselling is conducted by the HSTES for BTech admission. After successful registration, you can participate in the process.
The seats in BTech courses in all Government/Private Technical Institutes/ State Universities are filled against 15% RoHC up to round 2. After round 2, all the vacant seats are made to the general category for all candidates. For supernumerary seats, the counselling is conducted in parallel based on JEE Main rank.
Counselling is conducted in 2 rounds for BTech admission for all the seats of university departments, government/government-aided institutes and 75% of seats of self-financing institutes.

You can check the general steps involved in the counselling process listed below.
- Log in on the official website and submit course details, PPP ID and Registration ID (as per JEE Main admit card).
- Make choice filling as per your preference and lock them.
- If you do not lock your choices, the last filled choice would be considered as final.
- You can also edit your choices.
- Seat allotment results will be made available on the official website.
- Download your provisional seat allotment letter and report physically at the allocated college for admission.
- Failing to report at the allocated college will result in the cancellation of the allotment.
- After document verification, you will be provided a provisional admission slip by the institute confirming your admission.
- If documents are incorrect/unavailable, the institute will issue a deficiency message. You have to again submit the correct documents to get the provisional admission slip.
- For the upgradation of the allotted seat, you have to participate in the next counselling round.
- If you upgrade to a new institute in the next counselling round, you will have to again deposit the admission fee for the newly allotted seat.
Private institutes fill 25% of seats at their level. They will make these admissions before the final cut-off date and can also schedule institute-level counselling events at their own level.
If the admission in government engineering colleges (SIETs) is less than 25%, the students of that college will be shifted to another government engineering college or branch as per the vacancies and directions issued by the DTE, Haryana.

What are the required documents for Haryana BTech counselling?

- Character Certificate.
- Resident Certificate (if applicable).
- Medical Fitness Certificate.
- Undertaking of Anti-Ragging by a candidate and his/her parents.
- Aadhar Card.
- Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID) for Haryana candidates.

You have to bring original documents along with three sets of attested photocopies at the time of reporting.
Is there any exam for HSTES counselling?
HSTES do not conduct any exams for the counselling process. You are required to clear the JEE Main exam for admission to engineering courses, including BTech in government and private engineering colleges in Haryana. You will allocated a seat based on your exam score and your preference.

Ques. Can I take direct admission in BTech after 12th in Haryana?
Ans. You cannot take direct admission to BTech courses after class 12 in Haryana. You have to clear the JEE Main exam and appear in the counselling process conducted by the HSTES. You will be allotted a seat based on your JEE Main score and preference. However, some colleges provide direct admission based on class 12 marks. You should check the eligibility of the specific college you are interested in.
Ques. I want to take admission in BTech in Haryana but I do not have 45% marks in class 12 in PCM. What should I do?
Ans. 45% marks in class 12 is the minimum educational qualification that is required for admission to BTech courses in Haryana. It is set by the HSTES.
