MP BTech admission 2025 is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Madhya Pradesh. You have to clear the JEE Main exam and appear in the counselling process to secure admission.
Registration for the 2025 session can start from June 2025. Choice filling for the first round can be conducted in July 2025 with the allotment letter releasing in August 2025. College reporting can also be conducted in the same month.
BTech is a 4-year undergraduate engineering program preparing you for jobs in industries like IT, manufacturing, healthcare, research and more. You must have cleared class 12 with 45% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics (other subjects as per the stream) to be eligible for the MP BTech admission.

Who is eligible for MP BTech admission?
DTE, MP sets the qualifications for BTech admission in the MP state. You must meet the eligibility criteria before applying for the BTech course. You can check the eligibility below.
- You must be an Indian citizen.
- You must have a domicile of MP.
- You must have passed class 12 with physics, mathematics, chemistry or other subjects as mentioned by the DTE.
- You must have scored 45% marks in the three main subjects taken together in class 12.
- SC, ST or OBC (excluding creamy layer) candidates of MP must have scored 40% marks.
- Candidates who have passed class 12 in the agriculture stream are eligible for admission only to the agriculture engineering branch.
- Candidates passing with grace marks are eligible, but the minimum required percentage excludes grace marks.
- You must have secured a positive composite score in the JEE Main exam.
How do I apply for MP BTech admission?
MP BTech admission is conducted by the DTE through their official website. You should fulfil the eligibility criteria before applying for the BTech course. You can check the general admission process below.
- Register on the DTE MP official website by creating an account.
- Provide your entrance exam roll number. Using it, all the data will be fetched to the application form.
- Fill out the application form and provide personal, educational and other details.
- Upload the necessary documents as asked in the application form.
- Pay the application fee and download the fee receipt.
- Submit your application form and download it for future reference.
- After the document verification, you will be provided an e-verification receipt. The status can also be checked online on the portal.
Institutions administered by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, administrative, financial and university institutions have 90% seats for MP candidates and 5% for all India and NRI seats. University Institute of Technology, RGPV Shivpuri and Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Mahavishwavidyalaya have 85% seats for MP candidates and 5% for all India and NRI seats.

Can other state students get admission to MP engineering colleges?
Students from other states can also apply for admission to engineering courses in MP. Their selection is based on the JEE Main scores. 5% of the total seats of the approved admission capacity in all institutions as approved by the AICTE are reserved for all India candidates. You have to participate in the DTE counselling to get a seat.

What is the reservation policy for BTech in MP?

How to apply for Counselling for MP BTech?
DTE MP conducts a centralised counselling process for admission to BTech courses in government engineering colleges, state universities and private/ unaided engineering colleges. After the application submission, you have to appear in the counselling process based on the merit list. The general steps involved in MP BTech counselling are as follows.
- After the registration completion, you will receive a password for choice filling.
- Log in to the portal and make choice filling during the scheduled dates.
- If you are sure of your choices, you can lock and submit them.
- You also have the option of editing your filled choices by paying INR 100 as portal charges.
- If you do not pay the counselling fee, your choices will not be considered.
- A common merit list is released with the names of candidates and allocated institutions.
- You must download the allotment letter, report at the allocated college with documents for securing the seat. After document verification, you will be given an admission slip confirming your admission.
MP BTech counselling is held in 2 rounds. In round 1, candidates are called in order - ST, SC, ST, OBC, ST/SC. Vacant reserved seats, if any, are merged with the UR seats for round 2 counselling.
An upgrade option is also available in round 1. You have to the upgradation and portal fee. Your previous allotment will be cancelled and you will have to print the new allotment letter. First-preference allotments are not eligible for upgrades.
If some of your documents are missing/unavailable, you will marked as not eligible during the document verification process. You can appear again to get admission and remove the not eligible status. If you cannot attend the verification due to medical reasons, your parents/guardian can attend with a valid medical certificate.
You can appear in CLC rounds if you have not registered for any previous counselling rounds, if you have not paid the fee after choice filling in previous rounds or if you have not completed the document verification process, all resulting in cancellation. You can also cancel your present CLC level allotment and appear in the next CLC level round.
