Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because I like plants and trees very much. I like to study about them and their uses. You will get knowledge about plants, their evolution function etc, and many real world applications like measuring soil nutrition, pH level and mushroom production are also available. There no need to improve teaching methods because we are getting smart claases, experienced faculty and scholars.in every year there is 2 semesters each of 6 months. Per subject there are 3 exams 2 internal and 1 end semester. In the starting of semester first internal is taken within 2 months and second in other 2 month and for end sem we get 2 months more to prepare so frequency is good and not much difficult to prepare for all exams in every 2 month

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is semester wise.when I was taking admission 7050 Rupees was admission + caution money. Then in second semester 4500 is fees for second semester.so on an average 11000 is average fees per year.Fees for all categories is same. Scholarship is also available for sc/st/obc students which cover almost all the fees(chattisgarh post matric scholarship program) and also central scholarship program is also available but for some reason we didn't get any information about that.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is well designed so that it can help you for M. Sc preparation and CUET PG and GATE B. There is SEC i.e. skill enhancement course that hones on skills of particular. We has nursery and gardening and teaches us so many skills of how and when plant can be harvaested. They take us for field trips to different places. We visited Sikkim and got to know about orchids and how to harvest it amd many more. We even visited BSI SIKKIM and the collection of herbarium was awesome. We had the talk with the director of BSI too. The curriculum can be a bit improved if there were more practicals included that hones the skills more. The exam is not that difficult you ca clear it if you study regularly for 2 hours atleast. The exams occir twice a semester. One is sessional for 30 marks and finals for 80.

Fees and Financial Aid

So the total fees is about 20000 rupees per year at the starting you have to give the admission fees which also includes lab fees, development fees or any other fees ; and the admission fees is around 10000 to 15000 and every odd semesters you need to renew registration and every semester you have to apply for your examination the examination application charge around 2000 rupees registration is also around 2 to 3000 they are lots of scholarships you can apply which is Nijut Moina Ishan Uday. There is no exemption of fees for other categories; everyone is same but in case if you are able to provide a low income certificate and some other documents you are exempted from fees like you do not have to pay admission fees but you do have to pay the exam application fees

As a campus Hindu has everything you need thanks to the quality individuals that gets into the college and to the base of administration. As far as I can conclude there are 4 or 5 social groups for eany student of any interest to get into and be productive The library indeed is the biggest of them as it's such a attractive place intellectually Sports extracurricular activities all those have a space. The student running societies of Hindu college are well known in the Delhi student circle . From the historic abstractions to Alankar everything keeps standards MECCA "the Hajj tu Hindu college" Or "kwabon ka karwa " Is the biggest fest of Hindu college being part of this in two years were proud Post COVID event of 2023 was one of the best college fest in DU even though 2024 event couldn't keep the graph high it was still packed

No such annual fest that took place in other colleges are celebrated in this college... Only few departmental ones... And Saraswati pujo is being celebrated besides the id. extra curricular activities are being witnesses of a better environment such as ncc, steps for improvement of environmental issues are also practiced. A major part have been the students union which have potentially supported by the political ruling party. This have been enough disturbing few times due to their fights inside the campus... This often created an unhealthy atmosphere

Fees and Financial Aid

For the entire academic session the fee structure is 2 thousand rupees including lab and other infrastructure maintainance fees... However, the students belonging to below poverty level has the advantage of paying lesser amount. Also, we needed to pay university fees separately during examination per semester... There were scholarships that students could avail during their course both private and government such as kanyashree, svscm etc. however, presently the fees amount has been increased.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a 1st year student there , from the batch 24-28, I id nearly 18630 INR as my 1st year tution fees which is obviously quite affordable for most of the students. There are registration charges that we'll have to pay during counseling time , no extra charges after enrollment in the college, obviously for own preferences like gym or other extra activities, we have to pay separately. There are various types of scholarships available, you have to check these over and over on your student profile page.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is very well due to many reasons, one being that the new education policy though which there are 7 subjects to be taught every sem, 3 elective core subjects which are our main subjects, and one GE (General elective) which can be any subject no matter which stream are you from, one is AEC , one is SEC and one is VAC, again we can choose any subjects in these extra minor subjects like even if you are a biology major student, you can opt out physics or mathematics or anything .

So I was admitted to Hansraj College in the Year 2022, the fee for the 1st year was 24k Other than this we need to pay each sem examination fee which varies from course to course for courses including practical subjects, additional 250 rupees are taken as a fee, hence, if you opt for more around 4 practical subjects it includes 1000 practical fees and 150 for theory exam for each subject, which is 150x7 i.e. 1050 So, you'll pay a total 2050 as examination fees each sem, which may vary for BA and BCom students Also, for students under reserved category like SC, ST or OBC-NCL will get different scholarships under which 50% tuition fee is waived off if the annual income of the family is less then 5lac and 100% waiver if the annual income is less than 2lac

Ques. What is the admission process for B.Sc. Hons. Botany in Ravenshaw university and what is the cutoff?

● Top Answer By Rati Singh, on 16 Nov 21

Ans. Admission to Ravenshaw University (RU) is done purely on a merit basis. Your scores in class 10+2 examinations will determine your selection. First, fill-up the form and wait for the merit list. If you are selected in the first round, you will be needed to submit the documents with a demand draft of the amount mentioned.  If you are in the waiting list then also you will have to come to the college to submit the demand draft, showing your interest in taking admission. If you do not get selected, your draft will be returned. The cut-off marks usually change, so nothing could be said for sure. To get some idea about it you can check the previous year's cut off marks in the admission brochure.Read more

Ques. Which DU college should I opt SVC or KMC for B.Sc. Hons. Botany?

● Top Answer By Ahana Ghosh, on 21 Oct 21

Ans. Both colleges have their fair share of similarities and dissimilarities. Let me provide some facts about both of them, analyzing which you can move ahead with your decision. Both the colleges are excellent in their own way. The infrastructure of Science blocks is very good in both the colleges. Both colleges have diverse cultural societies. Players -The Dramatics Society of KMC, is one of the best in DU All colleges of DU have similar faculty. Some of them are exceptionally good, while others are average. KMC, being almost in the centre of North Campus, has its own perks. It is said to have better placements than South Campus colleges. The laboratories in the Botany and Zoology Departments of KMC are newly built.. The student crowd of KMC, however, is not as good as that of SVC.  The administration of KMC is pathetic.  The hostels of KMC aren't as good as those of SVC. However, they are Renovating to make it more attractive. Therefore, you can analyze these factors and compare the colleges, see what best suits your requirements, and finally go for it.Read more

Ques. Which is a better college for a B.Sc. in botany Ramjas or SVC?

● Top Answer By Milind Sen, on 21 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at Ramjas College, so my answer might be a bit inclined towards it. But SVC is also a good institution, so the choice basically depends on that particular individual. Ramjas is located in the North campus while SVC is in the South campus. Ramjas is known to have the best faculty for Botany at Delhi University. They have a dedicated greenhouse for botany students in Ramjas. Both SVC and Ramjas have really good lab facilities.  ECA participation is almost the same in both colleges.  Ramjas has its own Model United Nations society, which SVC does not.  Also, Enactus Ramjas, which has been second in the nationals for 2 consecutive years, is far better than its SVC counterpart. Categories B.Sc. in Botany at Ramjas College B.Sc. in Botany at SVC Course Fee INR 80,895 INR 37,098 Highest CTC 12 LPA - Average CTC 6-7 LPA 4.4 LPA So, it all comes down to the fact where you want to live, grow and explore. Choose the one that suits your requirements the best.Read more
