The faculty to students ratio is quite good.. there are around 15-16 faculties in our department moreover there are guest lecturer assigned for some subjects like SEC, VAC etc. Professors like Dr. Anand Sonkar, Dr. Vijay Rani Rajpal, Dr. Monika Kaul, Dr. Satyakam Guha, Dr. ishwar singh, Dr. Romila Rani Bisth, Dr. Pooja Jha Maity, Dr. Maheshwata Saikia, Dr. Sahil Mehta are Best. There are only single internal exam and the final end term examination

Course Curriculum Overview

The main syllabus is provided by the Delhi University and on the basis of UGC curriculum. The syllabus for both theory and practice are beautifully designed by the prominent professors of DU. And they give equal weightage to the both theory and practicals. More over research projects are also included Minimum no. Of exams. Difficulty level is low to moderate

As this is a government college the fees are very low comparison to other colleges . for general caste its aeound 3735 and for other castes I don't know the exact amount but its even lesser than this. Also the fee structure vary depending upon the program of course u've choosen. At our college, the fee structure is designed to be transparent and flexible, catering to a diverse student body. Tuition fees vary depending on the program of study, with undergraduate programs typically costing less than graduate programs. In addition to tuition, students may be responsible for additional fees, including those for laboratory use, library access, and student activities. Detailed information is provided in the official website of the college.

Faculty

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is 1:50, it gets higher in case of subjects like AEC, SEC and VAC I am from Botany Department and the best teacher I've met here is Prof. Pooja Maity, Prof. Arti Mishra and Prof. Vijay Rani, they all are so polite and good professors Others are also good but these are my favourite I didn't like the faculty of SEC and VAC as they are the teachers who teach some others subject but they are alloted these subject because of few matches, eg. Prof teaching us Digital Empowernment wasn't even aware of how to scroll in the laptop When it comes to exam pattern, for first two years its same (I'm talking about science subjects only of hons) There are total 7 subjects each sem 3 DSC, which is core subjects SEC, Skill enhancement VAC, Value addition course GE, Generic elective AEC, Language subject Exams for easy to moderate, you can easily pass the exams with the help of pyqs

So I was admitted to Hansraj College in the Year 2022, the fee for the 1st year was 24k Other than this we need to pay each sem examination fee which varies from course to course for courses including practical subjects, additional 250 rupees are taken as a fee, hence, if you opt for more around 4 practical subjects it includes 1000 practical fees and 150 for theory exam for each subject, which is 150x7 i.e. 1050 So, you'll pay a total 2050 as examination fees each sem, which may vary for BA and BCom students Also, for students under reserved category like SC, ST or OBC-NCL will get different scholarships under which 50% tuition fee is waived off if the annual income of the family is less then 5lac and 100% waiver if the annual income is less than 2lac

For the oeralll experience in the campus life at Guru Ghasidas University Bilaspur is sort of mixed with pros and cons . One aspect of the university might give you a feeling of proudness to be a part of the university while another aspect might upset you. No University in the world is perfect and same goes with the Guru Ghasidas Univerdity also. various students run gtoup are also present and funtioning inthe university which provide help to the needy and also provide information about the various aspects related about the university.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum including plant name quiz and planting trees on time make me choose this field which enhance me to take that course so I can improve my knowledge regarding plants that help me in my future if I pursue research field. Every year departmental trip is planned by the teachers to enhance the students knowledge regarding their perspective course. The semester is completed with 4 months I think this is a major drawback of college as the duration must be for 6 months to complete one semester. The projector must be there in each class so students easily understand through visual methods which is more effective methods to understand the topics .The labs need more improvement i.e.microscope , lab projectors etc should be of good quality.

Campus Life

The departmental fest of botany is samara which is held in March every year .The annual college fest is Mosaic which is also held in March month of every year. The library provides enough books of every course .The infrastructure of library is much more good having ac and computers and is well lighted library .The previous year question paper is also available in library. The peaceful environment of Libra make every student to study properly. The classrooms needs to be projector in every class . Time time many sports turnaments are held in sports ground of college . The student portal is active provides notification on time.

Course Curriculum Overview

With the introduction of NEP the whole system of the syllabus was changed which was made clear to us by the university during the course of admission and I think this was a good opportunity for me and my future so I decided to take the admission and since there is scopes for botanist in my state decided to take up Botany course. The curriculums provided by the university for my course is overall very good i would say it's a mixed of subjects with allied papers combined and changing every semester it's really good . I think the university can make more improvementts on allied papers which is needing more focus and importance . The timings for the exam is 50/50 I'll say ,during the internal examination the timings are not very healthy since classes are taken after the exam in the morning which is stressful for the students as they couldn't get enough time to prepare for next paper else during the End semester examinations it's fine the timings are well planned and followed accordingly

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The tuition fees at our university so far is neutral but it also differs from which course you are taking. B.tech, science department, MBA are higher in terms of tuition fees as compared to others but it's neutral For me as B.sc students my tuition fees is 22000 per semester and also we pays exam fees before end of semester examinations which is dependent on the number of papers a student is taking for that particular semester for eg I paid 2500 for 6 papers in my first year. The transportation fees are high as compared to the tuition fees and also the hostel fees. The university also provides scholarship based on merit and attendance percentage at least 80% percentage which is disbursed through twice instalments. Arts students receive around 4-5 k per instalment and science students around 5-6 k per instalment. The university also provides employment opportunities to the neighbourhood for selling fast food, opening cafes, transportation like rickshaws etc.

I think PWC is the best college in patna if you want to do normal graduation courses. The teachers are very well qualified. Some of them are ugc net qualified and almost every teacher of my department is a PHD degree holder. The teacher to student ratio is pretty good . In our class there are 54 students so the ratio is 1:54 which is really good comparatively. We can interact with our teachers any time . They are always available. The teaching method here is also innovative. We have one blackboard and one smartboard in our class. Teachers use both the methods to teach us. The college classes are regular and 75% attendance is mandatory at any cost.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The very big demerit of this college is it's fees because it's an autonomous body but the facilities it provides is worth it for the fees. It will cost around 1.5 lakh for me to complete my bsc degree including all the semesters fees. The college provides some scholarships for the financially weaker students . They have to apply for it and their issue will be addressed.

The fee of the course is pretty reasonable as compared to the teaching quality provided. One needs to submit the fee only during eacb years admission. There is no much hike in the fee policy. The admission fee for each semester was 12000 and the complete cost of the 3 year degree course is approximately 50000 or less. They also have government scholarship opportunities for students on merit basis. One can get a good amount of scholarship each year during the graduation period.

Campus Life

There are many programs that are conducted by the college each year they include the freshers after the admission process . It usually happens in august-october. Farewell programs are held department wise after the course completion for the final year. Other festivals like Saraswati puja, Eid e milad etc are held during their specific timings. Course Curriculum Overview

To be honest ,iwasnt sure for this course but i have keen interest in astrobiology and neuroscience or bioinformatics.i think professors here should more focus on experimental based studies with some current data ,they should review their strategy, they should involve some camputer tools for learning.the frequency of exam is good but I think there should be some oral tests rather than written as we are already sucking by making practicals.

Campus Life

College holds various societies and clubs like I was into ramjas Debating society, ramjas literary society no doubt it boost your overall personality and skill. Library is overall good but just needs to have more no of seats , the good part is we have e journals and e books. We have two big grounds and a good sports complex and the students holds alliance with many NGO and they create their own clubs and societies.

Tuition fees are free as it is an govt.institution but the admission fees are around 8000 nearly 9000 which is nearly the same when compared to private institutes. So that rises a problem for some of the students obviously due to various reasons. No job roles or internships yet in our college. Scholarships are the ones given by the state only.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is average cause there's not much outdoor activities lacking funds. However there are also sometimes few activities that do help us improve and prepares us for the real world. Improvements are largely needed for professors to be more interactive as well as in their teaching.

The college website has a list of scholarships which they offer which I think is a really great thing.

Campus Life

The overall infrastructure is okay. Delhi University is known for fests which I also think is really great. The fests evening are mesmerizing. Another advantage of being a student from Delhi University is the clubs and societies as it develops and enhances the personality of students.

The social events are commendable which is known within the whole state. Events invite numerous renowned figures from various fields to be a part of the programs. The sports quota is also available which is in accordance with the Assam government and also further with the Indian government. These events allow interactions between students and social figures with encourages them. Only a bit lacking is the infrastructure, it's compact and small.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The university itself is not money minded. The faculty members are also supportive of the financial background one comes from. About tution and mentorship, one could go to professors who provide one on one facilities with minimum fees. The scholarship availability is top notch even within the university and in collaboration with the government. I myself is studying with the help of numerous scholarships.

Course Curriculum Overview

The inclusion of courses such as ability enhancement course and generic elective helped me as a student to broaden my knowledge. There used to be monthly conferences on various topics that helped me improve myself as an orator. The classes were very much on time so the amount of break that we got was a bit less. Exams were designed according to average and above average student and had the same topics that our teachers made us focus on.

Ques. What is the admission process for B.Sc. Hons. Botany in Ravenshaw university and what is the cutoff?

● Top Answer By Rati Singh, on 16 Nov 21

Ans. Admission to Ravenshaw University (RU) is done purely on a merit basis. Your scores in class 10+2 examinations will determine your selection. First, fill-up the form and wait for the merit list. If you are selected in the first round, you will be needed to submit the documents with a demand draft of the amount mentioned.  If you are in the waiting list then also you will have to come to the college to submit the demand draft, showing your interest in taking admission. If you do not get selected, your draft will be returned. The cut-off marks usually change, so nothing could be said for sure. To get some idea about it you can check the previous year's cut off marks in the admission brochure.Read more

Ques. Which DU college should I opt SVC or KMC for B.Sc. Hons. Botany?

● Top Answer By Ahana Ghosh, on 21 Oct 21

Ans. Both colleges have their fair share of similarities and dissimilarities. Let me provide some facts about both of them, analyzing which you can move ahead with your decision. Both the colleges are excellent in their own way. The infrastructure of Science blocks is very good in both the colleges. Both colleges have diverse cultural societies. Players -The Dramatics Society of KMC, is one of the best in DU All colleges of DU have similar faculty. Some of them are exceptionally good, while others are average. KMC, being almost in the centre of North Campus, has its own perks. It is said to have better placements than South Campus colleges. The laboratories in the Botany and Zoology Departments of KMC are newly built.. The student crowd of KMC, however, is not as good as that of SVC.  The administration of KMC is pathetic.  The hostels of KMC aren't as good as those of SVC. However, they are Renovating to make it more attractive. Therefore, you can analyze these factors and compare the colleges, see what best suits your requirements, and finally go for it.Read more

Ques. Which is a better college for a B.Sc. in botany Ramjas or SVC?

● Top Answer By Milind Sen, on 21 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at Ramjas College, so my answer might be a bit inclined towards it. But SVC is also a good institution, so the choice basically depends on that particular individual. Ramjas is located in the North campus while SVC is in the South campus. Ramjas is known to have the best faculty for Botany at Delhi University. They have a dedicated greenhouse for botany students in Ramjas. Both SVC and Ramjas have really good lab facilities.  ECA participation is almost the same in both colleges.  Ramjas has its own Model United Nations society, which SVC does not.  Also, Enactus Ramjas, which has been second in the nationals for 2 consecutive years, is far better than its SVC counterpart. Categories B.Sc. in Botany at Ramjas College B.Sc. in Botany at SVC Course Fee INR 80,895 INR 37,098 Highest CTC 12 LPA - Average CTC 6-7 LPA 4.4 LPA So, it all comes down to the fact where you want to live, grow and explore. Choose the one that suits your requirements the best.Read more
