- As a student of Arya Vidyapeeth College, it is very difficult to be part of our college, as the department is very popular.
- Due to high popularity, the college campus is very crowded, which sometimes leads to overcrowding.
- There is very limited seats in the hostel, the outstation students faces many difficulties to stay nearby the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course i.e department of Botany because the department ensuring a strong theoretical foundations along with the practical experience. The course prepares well for studies as the academic results is always good which will make graduates well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and internships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which releases unnecessary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Iam pursuing my graduation in botany from Arya vidyapeeth college with and minimum fees of yearly 8000(approx).The college provides various education freely to the poor student's also it inculdes various excursion on every semester, moreover the admission is done regarding the merit list which comes out on the basis of caste and percentage too in your last exam which you performed. The fee's structure's varies from one other regarding the parent's annual income say basically those who are in BPL there fees might the different from the APL.
Campus Life
The College hosts several programs every year, firstly from the starting month of January to February i.e college week which is for ten days which includes cultural rally, sports and cultural program and Freshers which is a welcome program to the juniors which is held in the month of August to September, which includes departmental program, College Program and other parties Program which are held in the College Campus. The college library has minimum 20000 to maximum 50000 or 60000 text books and reference material across different subjects. The library also provide free wifi for the students. As our college has been upgrading its infrastructure for the digitally setup in the classroom. Facilities for major games such as cricket, football, badminton etc are available which is accessible to all students. The College has a dynamic NCC wing .
Admission
I had applied to 5 to 6 colleges and fortunately I had got my name in every college merit, I choose this college i.e Arya Vidyapeeth College because one of my family member already taken admission in this college and also I heard from my friends that the college is accredited grade 'A' and our college got listed under CUET for undergraduate programs. And also our former HoD Mr.Dilip Chandra Sharma has been declared as fellow of Botanical Society of Assam held at Rangia College. No, i didn't got any rejection from other colleges in which I had applied for. The admission process of Arya Vidyapeeth College is based on the merit. The minimum eligibility is every student passed 12 with minimum 50%. At present, if anyone wants to be part of this college he/she might have to clear the CUET examination.
Faculty
The Head of the Department (HoD) is Dr.Deepika Devi, the educators specialized in various sub-disciplines of botany, ensuring a better learning experience for the students. I like Dr.Nabin Saikia because he teaches us very friendly and give help financial to the students who can't afford his fees. There is no teacher that I don't I like about ,we are very grateful for the teachers in our department. The exam conducted per semester i.e in every six months in which sessional exam is conducted as a unit test which is for 30 marks. The final exam is for 50 marks and practical is for 50 marks.
Night Life
The College has provided separate boys hostel and girls hostel. In summer, winter and festival season the hostel are remain closed . The library of the college is opened till 4 pm. The College offers free gymnasium facilities to the students of the college
