Course Curriculum Overview

3

The botany course have 3 subjects in each semester for which u have to give both practical and theory exam. In practical exam u have setups, spots, preparation and viva , i believe these things are really important as it gives a good insight of what we are studing in theory class . Overall practical classes are really nice and relevant wherase i find theory class not that relevant as some professors just give lecture from ppt which can be boring. There are 4 hrs dedicated to each practical class and 2 hr for each theory class in a week. The curriculum is not that hectic but its very fast paced so you have to keep up with it . Exams only happens at the end of semester and can last upto a month . There are only class test, assignments and vivas in between the semester .

Fees and Financial Aid

The program fee for bsc botany course at gargi college is 18765rs for the general category for first year but it varies from course to course , college to college ,reservation and year wise . You also have to pay examination fee when u fill examination form which is required to filled every semester in order to appear for exam . It depends on what courses you are studying in a semester as practical courses cost more than theoretical course . I paid 1900 rs for 1st sem and it varies semester to semester. Other than this no additional fees is charged. Also government offers various scholorships for students like pmsss etc . I am not aware of scholorships provided by Delhi university itself.

Campus Life

5

I say with no hesitation that campus , social life of DU is the best !! DU colleges offers variety of societies for students to join and explore their interests and new learn new things . I am also in a society (wdc) and i have the best time in it . There are many sports and extracurricular activities . Every college organises an annual sports day. In Gargi college, 1 hr is given to ECA (extracurricular activity) every Tuesday for societies to organise their events. So every week there is something happening in the campus which is super fun . There also many events like PJ day , fashion designing and ramp walk. Taking about Annual fest !! Best time of the year . Gargi college annula fest is called Reverie and it happens in February/march . Its a 3 day fest where every societies participant from all colleges of du for various competitions. There are many food , game , cool stalls.

Admission

I applied to various colleges around india but i mainly focused of three cities - Delhi, mumbai and jammu (my hometown). I got selected in Jammu university but did not get admission because i wanted to move out of my city to get exposure. I also got selected into big institutes of Mumbai like st Xaviers , mithibai and nmims . I also confirmed my admission in st Xaviers college in the course zoology. Admission in Delhi university happens in 3 phases through csas portal . You have to give CUET exam and pass your 12 examinations . After your cuet exam you have to fill your personal details in 1 st phase , in 2nd phase which happens after cuet results ,u have to fill in your preferences of your colleges and course.

Faculty

4

Faculty of botany dept in my college is great ! I have never felt any toxic behaviour from them . They are always ready to help you whenever u need them . They are approachable and always clears your doubt be it about the course or any other personal doubt . You can ALWAYS go to them without any hesitation. There are certain professors who are not that friendly that u should have to see for yourself . Non teaching staff is also very helpful and they know eveything about labs and other thing so well . So u can always thake their help as well.

Night Life

1

There is NO night life in gargi college . As it is a girl college in Delhi its not at all safe to roam around in night. North campus have many hangout spots which can we enjoyed in night time also but in south campus there is no such thing like night life.

I will rate the course curriculum 8/10. I like the labs specially they are modern with well equiped systems. According to me I suggest to improve the course structure to include more practical based learning instead of theory. Overall course is good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

The average package is around 6.5-7 LPA and the highest usually varies from 13-15 LPA L. Usually 50 percent of the students get placed directly from campus and rest usually pursue some other academic programs or even off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
