Students also ask

Ques. I am confused between the BA (Hons.) and the BA programme at PGDAV College, which one is better for future study and job options?

Ans. A BA (Hons.) is more focused on one subject, so students study that subject in depth. The BA programme has many subjects, but not at a deep level. For higher studies like MA or competitive exams, an honours course is more helpful. Job depend on skill, not only on a degree. Both are okay, but honours give a little more advantage.

Ques. I am a science student, but not very strong in maths. Can I still choose B.Sc (Hons.) or should I avoid it in PGDAV College?

Ans. A B.Sc (Hons.) need good understanding of maths and logic, especially in Computer Science and Statistics. If maths is very weak, a student can face problems in starting year. But with regular class, practice and help from friends, many students manage slowly. Avoid only if there is no interest at all. Interest is very important.

Students also ask

Ques. I want to know if the MA Political Science from PGDAV College is good for UPSC or state PSC preparation, along with regular classes?

Ans. MA Political Science help student in the UPSC and state PSC syllabus because many topics are the same. Regular classes give basic theory, but self-study is very important. College gives notes and discussion, but students also need extra reading. Many students prepare side by side, but time management is a big challenge. Discipline and regular study make a big difference.

Ques. I am planning M.Com or M.Sc Mathematics, but worried about the workload. Is the PGDAV College PG course very tough to manage for an average student?

Ans. PG courses have more syllabus and pressure compared to UG. M.Com need understanding of accounts and theory, M.Sc Maths needs strong concepts and practice. An average student can manage if they attend class and study daily. Problem start when students skip class and study only before the exam. Regular effort make course manageable.

PGDAV College Admission Process

1. Register on DU CSAS Portal + Pay Fee
First student have to register on the DU CSAS portal (UG or PG) after CUET registration. They need to create an account and fill in personal and academic details correctly. The required document also needs to be uploaded. If the CSAS fee is not paid, then the form will not be completed.

2. Appear for CUET Exam (UG / PG)
For UG admission, students must givethe CUET-UG exam with the subject according to the course, like BA, B.Com or B.Sc.
For PG admission, students need to appear inthe CUET-PG exam in the related subject.
Admission in PGDAV College is fully entrance-based, and only the CUET score is considered.

3. Check CUET Result and Seat Allotment List
After the CUET result is declared, Delhi release CSAS seat allotment list round-wise. Students should check the portal again and again to see if mark match the PGDAV College cutoff. Cutoff changes every round.

4. Accept PGDAV College and Course
If the seat is allotted, students need to login on CSAS portal and accept PGDAV College with the given course. It must accept in given time, otherwise the seat can be cancelled.

5. Upload Required Documents
Students have to upload scan copy of required document, such as:

  • Class 10 certificate
  • Class 12 marksheet (for UG)
  • Graduation marksheet (for PG)
  • CUET scorecard
  • Category certificate (if applicable)

The document should be clear, if not, then the student may get a chance upload again.

6. Document Verification and Fee Payment
PGDAV College check uploaded document online. After approval, students need to pay the admission fee to confirm a seat. Later student may call the college for original document checking.

How to Check PGDAV College Admission Status?

You can check your PGDAV College admission status through Delhi University’s CSAS portal by following these steps.

Step Process
1 Visit the DU CSAS admission portal.
2 Sign in using your registered email ID and CUET application number.
3 Access your dashboard after logging in.
4 Review your admission status to see if a seat is allotted, you are on the waiting list, or an upgrade option is available.
5 Check whether any document submission or fee payment is pending.
6 Visit the portal regularly during each CSAS round to stay updated.

Students also ask

Ques. I missed one counselling round on the DU CSAS portal. Will I still get a chance for PGDAV College admission in the next round, or is my admission fully gone?

Ans. Missing one counselling round does not always mean admission is gone. If the student is still registered on the CSAS portal and seats are available, then the next round allotment can happen. Cutoff usually goes down in later rounds. But students must stay active and check the portal daily. If many round missed, the chances become low slowly.

Ques. I accepted the PGDAV College seat but did not pay the fee on the same day. Will the seat remain safe or get cancelled automatically by the system?

Ans. Fee payment time is very important. If students do not pay the fee within the given deadline, the system can auto-cancel the seat without warning. Colleges do not hold seats for anyone. Some time short extension is given, but not always. Students should pay as soon as possible to avoid losing seat and problems later.

Students also ask

Ques. I uploaded all documents on the DU CSAS portal, but later foundthat one certificate is wrong. Will PGDAV College allow me to correct the document or reject admission?

Ans. If the document is wrong or not clear, the college usually raise query on the CSAS portal. Students get a limited time to upload the correct document again. If students do not fix mistakes on time, admission can cancel automatic. College does not reject the first time directly, but delaying is risky. Better check the document carefully before uploading to avoid problems.

Ques. I do not have a migration or transfer certificate at admission. Can PGDAV College give extra time to submit it later?

Ans. Many times, students do not get migration or TC on time from the school or board. The college may give some extra days to submit pending documents if the student informs early. But this is not confirmed for all cases. The student should contact the college office quickly. Without submitting the final document, admission can face problems later.

PGDAV College Admission FAQs

Ques. I want to know if changing the college preference order in CSAS can affect my chances for PGDAV College admission?

Ans. Yes, preference order matters a lot in CSAS counselling. If PGDAV College is kept very low, then even a good score may not get a seat. System allot seat based on preference first, then score. The student should place PGDAV College in the correct order according to priority. Wrong order creates regret later because once locked, change is not allowed.

Ques. I am from a small town and worried about teaching quality. Are PGDAV College teachers supportive of average students?

Ans. Most teachers in PGDAV College are supportive if students attend class regularly and ask doubts. Average students also get help, but they need to show interest. Teacher explain topic in a simple way many times. But students should not fully depend on class. Self study also important for understanding and exam performance.

Ques. I want to do internships during UG at PGDAV College. Will regular classes allow time for internships, or will attendance create a problem?

Ans. Doing an internship with regular classes is possible, but you need time management. The attendance rule is strict around 75 per cent, so students must plan carefully. Some internships are part-time or online,e which helps. If a student misses many classes, a problem can arise. Balance both study and internship slowly, not at the same time fully.

Ques. I am confused about the upgrade option in CSAS. Will accepting a PGDAV College seat block my chance for a better course or college later?

Ans. Accepting a seat does not always block the upgrade option. If the upgrade is open and the student choose upgrade, then the system can allot better preference in the next round. But if the student freeze seat, then the upgrade stops. Many students confuse and freeze early. Read the option carefully before clicking because a wrong click create issue later.

Ques. I want to know if PGDAV College's degree value is the same as that of other DU colleges for higher studies outside India?

Ans. PGDAV College's degree comes under the University of Delhi, so the value is the same for all DU colleges. For abroad study, the university name matters more than the college name. Marks, skills, SOP and exam like IELTS matter more. College rankingis less important. Students should focus on profile building rather than worrying only about the college name.

Ques. I belong to the reserved category, but my score is close to the general cutoff. Should I apply asa general or category student for PGDAV College admission?

Ans. Student should always apply under their correct category because reservations give benefits in cutoff and seat availability. Applying asa general removal category, the competition becomes high. Even if marks are near the general cutoff, category seats give more chances in the later rounds. Wrong category choice can reduce the chance and create a problem during document verification, also.

Ques. I saw a cutoff increase for some categories in later rounds. Does that mean waiting for the next round is risky for PGDAV College admission?

Ans. Yes, waiting always has risk because the cutoff does not always go down. Some category cutoff increases when seat are less or more students apply. Many students think the later round eas,y but not true every time. Students should accept a seat when available. Waiting without backup can lead to losing the admission chance fully.

AI-Generated Summary based on 142 Reviews

Admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) program at PGDAV College is determined through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and coordinated by Delhi University. Applicants must choose one language and three domain subjects for the CUET. Students generally require high marks, with cutoffs ranging from 683-703 out of 800. The university utilizes a reservation system for different categories like OBC, SC, and EWS, affecting admission cutoffs accordingly.

The admission process, including choice filling and document submission, is entirely online through the Delhi University portal. The competitive examination runs once a year and is medium to high in difficulty due to the large number of applicants, approximately ten lakh students. Cutoffs are higher for courses like B.Com (Hons.) and BA (Hons.) Economics. Eligibility criteria include being a 12th pass student with a minimum 50% in board exams. Some students prefer PGDAV due to its location, placement opportunities, and academic reputation, despite its off-campus classification.

The admission process is largely smooth, though improvements in choice filling duration are noted. Reservation policies sometimes result in differing admission prospects among candidates with varying CUET scores. Overall, PGDAV offers a robust educational environment under the reputed University of Delhi.

I was given this college on the basis of the score in the CUET Exam which i gave after my 12th. It was a tough exam i would say because compiting with 20 Lac plus students for just a seat in DU is not an easy task. While preparing the prefference sheet and combinations for the college in the admission process was a confusing task. So i select all the cobinations of courses and colleges which i was eligible and then i also select my course and college, but i never thought that i would get it, still though i was happy that i get to study in one of the DU college. I applied to a lot of DU colleges and there courses. I would say it was'nt an easy one, bt still get to study here is a great opportunity.
