The Political Science department at the college caters to around 625 students with support from about 20 faculty members. First-year students attend lectures on both the north and south campuses, whereas second-year lectures are held exclusively on the north campus. The first-year curriculum features four core subjects in the first semester and a mix of two core and two optional subjects in the second semester. In the second year, students choose all eight papers from optional subjects.
The department does not facilitate internships, so students are encouraged to independently seek opportunities, such as working with NGOs, engaging in election surveys, or exploring journalism. Many students pursue a master's degree as a fallback while preparing for civil service exams, while those interested in academia attend lectures regularly. The annual college fee is Rs. 13,741, with no variation across different student categories, and the college does not offer scholarships.
