The application form of the course is available on the college website. Eligibility criteria for BA Psychology (honours) was just passing class 12th examinations from a recognised board. There was no entrance test and the merit list was released considering the marks secured in class 12th only. If you have scored above 92% (for general category) you'll surely be able to get admission in the college. The cut off for reserved category candidates is lower. There were only like 8-12 seats available for general category candidates. Once the merit list is released you are required to make an online payment of admission fee via the college portal and then the college provides you with date of document verification. For that you need to visit the campus and get all the required documents (specified by the college) verified. Hence, completing your admission process. The whole process takes about a month of time.

You'll have to score 55% to be able to fill out the form and then based on the merit list you'll be selected but keep in mind your score should be above 80% because Bethune is a highly demanding college and as far as my knowledge goes only toppers study here and I am not joking at all I have friends who are West Bengal rankers so be thankful if you get your chance here

They take admission with the marks of 12th board exam. In my time around 85-90 percentage was sufficient for admission. Yes reservation benefits are available. Timing of exams were super hectic and the difficulty level wasn't easy at all in my subject it was moderate to tough sometimes.

The admission process was smooth especially the faculty members are extremely cooperative and as off cut off for my subject which is BA psychology it goes a little high if you do not have reservation facilities, it is around ?80-90% and for BA course there is no entrance exam as such it is completely based of your HS percentage

The admission process overall was quite smooth. The application form and the details were available in the website of the college. The cut offs were around 92 percent considering the best of 4 subjects. The only problem encountered was we did not receive notifications of any sort and we had to keep checking the websites every now and then. And the notices were very sudden, here I mean the display of merit lists and the time given for admissions were very close and if u miss to check the website for one day, u might cross the deadline. The course I enrolled is a good one and has a good faculty in the college. Teachers are very helpful. The difficulty level is moderate and the course requires consistency in studies.

The admission process to my dream college " Bethune college" was awaiting and took a lot of patience of mine. I waited the whole 1.5 months to take admission in this college, meanwhile I was studying in Bagbazar women's college in same BSc psychology honours but I was not happy with it, cause I was thinking that I maybe do not deserve to be studying in such a good college. I believed in god's plan and let him do what's best for me. I'm SC with my father holding income certificate of Rs. 8000 but I do not have any scholarship facilities because I studied from a complete private school. In the month of September, my name came in the admission list, I was in the top of the world and in 23rd of September I got admitted to Bethune college. I'm so grateful for this life that I have got.

Eligibility was quite moderate for my course a student was needed to score atleast 85% for Biology and 65% for other science subjects. Cut off mostly was within (>=95 to 80<) percentage secured by a student in their 12th Boards. Reserved seats were also there in each course. Frequency and timing of exams totally depend upon the Calcutta University quite challenging and were on the difficult side. Overall Bethune College is a quite good college, better than most other colleges in Kolkata with some improvements required in some departments.

Detailed information is updated on the college website. I took admission based on my H.S. result. No entrance exam was held for admission. I just filled out the form gave my details and waited for the merit list. And yes one can get reservation benefits if they belong to the categories.
It will depend on the cut-off marks as set up by the college. It differs from year to year. If you score above 85 your chances of getting selected in the first round will be easier.
Later it will gradually drop down to 75-80. This will also vary among students of reserved and unreserved categories. Students belonging to reserved categories might require a lower score like 70-75, which can drop down to 60-65, depending on the course and the college’s set cut off.
Yes, you can get admission in B.Sc Psychology at Bethune College as a number of students leave their seats for better colleges. You can then try to get a seat during the second, third or fourth cut-off list.
Bethune College has highly qualified faculty members but the classes are not conducted regularly. Sometimes they even fail to complete the syllabus. But if we ignore these flaws, they are quite brilliant as educators.
If you're joining this college, make sure you can study by yourself because you will not get constant attention from teachers. Bethune College will provide you with a better experience. In Bethune, you will develop both academically and holistically. Overall it is a great institution to be a part of.
