Bethune college from a student's perspective

There were no instances of ragging so you don't have to worry about all that. Also, there is no dress code or any restriction regarding students' clothing. Final year students are provided with placement opportunities. Our package range was 4-5 LPA.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from semester 5. A few local companies conducted placement drives in our college but they failed to grasp our attention as they were offering salary on the basis of performance and weren't clear about their job profile. TCS was the biggest company that invited students from our college for job opportunities in 2023. The salary package was low ranging from 4 to 5LPA. Most of the students preferred continuing with their studies as they wanted to become counsellors or clinical psychologists because these professions offer a better pay and more perks (independent nature of work, ability to provide better help to people etc).

Placement Experience:

Placements at the graduation level are comparatively much better at Bethune College. All departments are open to sit for placements during their final year. Companies like TCS, WIPRO and other big companies offer placements to the final-year students. Professors help you through the process and the Placement committee is active in this matter which makes it easier for students. The highest package offered to the bachelor students is 3.6lpa with a median salary of 2.4lpa. Placements are roughly 50% as most students opt for PG courses which is actually a better option if someone doesn't have an urgency to get a job. Personally, I feel a master's degree in a respective course will fetch a high salary in the company. Economics graduates can opt for MSc, MBA, CFA and many other respective PG courses.

Placements are available for the final year students. Companies like TCS and Wipro come to our college with avg package of 3.3lpa. Most students opt for higher education such master's degree in their respective majors. I would be opting for an MBA after my graduation.

Companies like TCS, HDFC BANK, Haldia Petrochemicals, WB Electrical Department visit our college and recruit students at the time of campus placements. The highest package offered is 9.7 lakhs per annum and the lowest package offered is 3.3 lakhs per annum. Around 70% of the total final year students get placed during the campus placements.
