Course Curriculum Overview

3

Well, choosing this course was accidental but you'll get to know about life in a different way. Your perception towards your life will change for sure. This subject isn't that much relevant in case of further academic pursuits but their logical reasonings will be helpful if you enroll in government exams. In teaching methods, if they start lecuring in English then it'll be great for the students who can't understand Bengali. As a English medium student I have to study from YouTube and Chatgpt. In every six months exams are conducted. As per the university's notice they'll take internals of 10 marks, you have to give assignment of 15 marks, and 10 marks is on your attendance.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is same for everyone. It's 1950 per year and during admission it may take more. Also, you have to pay examination per semseter which will cost you 350 and if your attendance is low then you have to pay 100 rs extra. Here you'll get many scholarship opportunities so if you are eligible you may apply. However, I wasn't eligible but my classmates got the amount. They intorduce scholarships that government has launched for students.

Campus Life

3

Here you'll get to attend many seminars. They celebrate only their annual fest called Aalap that takes place in the end of every year in December. In the library, you'll only get educational books. They have two libraries: one is the common one and the other is departmental. Well, they provide the required technologies as per the course. Every year, they conduct annual sports so if you are interested you can participate. It takes plave in the campus only. There are various student clubs like cultural, literature, animations, drama, anime, and many more. You can be a member as per your interest. There they conduct many programes where you can participate.

Admission

I applied many colleges under CU like Ashutosh College, Jaipuriya College, Scottish Church, Sister Nivedita, Behala. But I choose Bethune as it was convenient for me. Also, Behune is one the finest colleges during ancient times. It's very reputated college there. No, I didn't get rejected in all the mentioned ones except for the Ashutosh college. I had my family friends near Bethune College so it was convenient for me. The eligibilty criteria is same which is mentioned in their website. You must uave scored more than 60% in your intermediate. And your top three subjects will be reviewed then they'll select as per the marks. You don't have to give any exams. Once you applied from their site, your name will appear in their merit list. After final merit list, you'll be called for document verification and after verifying documents, you'll get admission. (Remember, all the admission procedure is online)

Faculty

3

The faculty relationship with students is good. I mean you can't say it's very approchable but it's good. If you are an insider, you'll like their faculties. Here only two faculties you'll get: science and arts. There's no scope for commerce students. I won't say all the faculties are bad, some good ones are history, psychology, english. They take exams every six months as per the university's notice. They take internal of 10 marks, the questions are easy. If you study well you can score good marks. Still students fail but that's very rare like 2,3 every semester. They are most likely to pass everyone in the internal exams. You'll fail only if you don't score in your external.

Night Life

3

Here, you'll get a gym which is air conditioned. In summer, we used to sit there mostly as it was the only AC room in our college. There's a small canteen that you can see while entering, it's good. The foods and prices are affordable and healthy. You can sit in the library too and can read or do your stuff. Well, I haven't opted for hostel as it was far from the college. It was situated in Salt lake. So I opted PG which was 10 min walking distance from the college. The locality is nice and it's in the North side so there's not many places you can hang. But if you walk little bit, you can visit haathibagan Or you acn visit college street where you can visit the coffee house, it's very popular there.

Other Applied Colleges

Sister Nivedita University - [SNU] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Mass Communication and Journalism)

Due to personal reasons I have to cancel this college. Actually one of the reason was I wanted to study mass communication but seats were not there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always wanted to persue English as a career. I love studying English but not a big fan of the new curriculum by NEP that includes a lot pf irrelevant papers. The semesters are not consistent. Odd semesters usually have a lot of time like 6-8 months but even semesters barely consist of 2-3 months.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I used to read so many novels from my childhood and that inspired me in getting attracted to this field. We used to have the fecility of having seminar in the end of every month after compleating of each lessons. And this process helped us in true education. After every year professors from differnt parts of the country used to come for a seminer for overall groth of the students. Actually is theory teaching style is followed in the college, according to me some developments in the practical teaching can be used. Semister is held at the end of every six months and the exams are used to be moderate in nature.
