- Calcutta University Online PG Registration Process has started. Students admitted to the PG courses must upload the relevant documents from Nov 6 to Dec 31, 2024. Further, Migrating Students must submit a hardcopy of the Students’ Registration Form at the Registrar’s Office from Nov 11 along with other required documents.
- The last date to apply for M.Music Courses 2024-2025 is Nov 11, 2024. The entrance test is scheduled for Nov 14, 2024. To check the complete schedule, click here.
- Applications are invited for admission to LLM/MSc/MA in Human Rights (Self-Financing Course). Aspirants can submit the online application forms through the university’s website (caluniv.ac.in) from Oct 25 to Nov 8, 2024. Entrance Test for the course is scheduled on Dec 1, 2024.

About Women's College
Established in 1937, Women’s College, Kolkata has been one of the popular Women’s Colleges under University of Calcutta. Women’s College provides both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree programs. In the UG program, both General and Honors streams are offered.
Also, it serves as a Distance Education Study Centre for three Distance Learning Universities: Vidyasagar University, Netaji Subhas Open University, and Indira Gandhi Open University offering UG, PG, Certificate, Diploma, and PG Diploma for Arts, Science, Commerce subjects. Women's College Kolkata Courses
The Women’s College, Kolkata offers UG and PG courses in a variety of streams and modes. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the UG courses are a valid score in 10+2 in relevant streams with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to PG courses are Graduation in relevant subjects.

- The Student’s Aid Fund By the Principal: The College offers up to 100% tuition fee concession for meritorious students.
- Kanyashree Scheme by the WB Government: As per the rules of government of West Bengal, Kanyashree Scheme is functional in the College.
- Sponsored Student scholarship: it is given by Prof. Arun Kumar Mukherjee & other retired professors.
- Student Aid by Usha- Ajay Foundation India: It is offered to the students as per the Principal’s Nominations.

- Laboratories: The College has 5 well-equipped laboratories for Chemistry, Geography, Food & Nutrition, Journalism and Psychology subjects.
- Library: Central Library of Women’s College is located on the 1st floor of the main building of College. It contains around 28000 books, 340 bound periodicals, and 12 journals. Every department of College has a Departmental Seminar Library headed by respective Departmental faculties. E-Resources are available for students. They can avail PubMed, Shodhganga, National Digital Library of India, American Libraries, etc.
- NSS: Women’s College, Kolkata has dedicated NSS wings. Cadets have successfully participated in various occasions like Kerala flood relief, Independence Day Celebration, Republic Day Celebration, etc.
- Spoken English Course: The College conducts Spoken English Course, every Saturday. An annual certificate is given upon successful completion of the course.
- Srijan Centre for Community Welfare: As a part of Social Responsibility, Srijan, an initiative by Women’s College Kolkata provides various cultural training like dance, music, painting, etc. to the children of the nearby slums. Srijan arranges their books, stationery, school uniforms, and refreshments. Regular health awareness and health checkups of the children and their mothers are done by the College with the help of proper medical practitioners.
- Psychological Counselling: The Departments of Psychology, Sociology, and Education jointly run the Psychological Counselling Cell for the help of students suffering from academic stress-related disorders or issues of domestic violence.

- Extremely Interactive cultural events in campus.
- Faculty/Professors are always available for any kind of assistance
Dislikes
- No decent canteen in campus. Food is nowhere near.
- Very difficult commute. Long walk from the nearest metro.
Admission:
Classes are more regular. The college follows strict discipline. The faculty members are very nice and most importantly the college ambience is very suitable for learning. With regular classes professors here also provide relevant notes and materials for better preparation for exams compared to other colleges.

- The official people are a better bitter natured
- The outside environment is a bit filthy need maintenance.
Admission:
The student must have acquired 60 percent in 10+2 standard. The application form is available in the college website. There is no application fees. The application is given out in July . There is 10 percent reservation for OBC SC and ST. The semester exams takes place every 6 months along with internal exams every 2 months. The exams are moderate in difficulty level. The forms should be available in the West Bengal government college admission portal.

- The marks given by the college to the university which is very less than what we actually write

The admission is based on the students 10th and 12th marks. The application form and the fees structure can be easily found on the college website. Reservations are there as instructed by the government. Nothing as such as most of the procedure is done online

- Less placement opportunities college should arrange placement and work shop for student training.
- Campus size is not very big college doesn't have a play ground.

For addmission is Baghbazar women's the addmission is strictly based on Merit basis of class 12th result.Female students have to apply from college website for admission in this college. Yes there are reserved for sc st obc and other reserved students

- I like my college faculties. They are very helpful and supportive.
- The college has air conditioner in every rooms.
Dislikes
- The most annoying thing of my college is that it doesn't provide any placement and scholarship opportunities.
- I didn't like my campus life, well it's too boring.
Admission:
The eligibility for the course is the student should be graduated in geography. The student must have scored 55 to 60 percentile. The student will get the application form, application fees, and application dates updated on the college website. The college doesn't provide any reservation benefit to outstation people, this benefit can only be availed by people who graduated from Kolkata.

- Canteen food is nice and we also have a printout and photocopy shop in the college itself

- Not every room is air conditioner. It's unbearable during summer
- Not enough books in library to go through
Admission:
Eligibility for general students is 50 percent in BA and there was no entrance exam as such. I got admitted through the CU counselling process. Yes, there is benefits for reservation category students.
Admission:
90% marks in the particular subject are required to get a chance. The application form is given on the website of the college. Reservation benefits are there. No need for improvement on the admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I am very happy with my course, faculties are really good the academics are adorable and the curriculum is huge, your attendant should be 75% in this college, and you don't get many options in pass subjects. They have limited subjects option.

I would definitely say that the quality of teaching is good. We are grateful to our teachers as the way they teach us is really blissful and happening. The faculty members are good. But the modern-day equipment is not used for teaching and learning. Teachers only teach us with the help of books and no other means of study. The faculty to student ratio is getting low day by day. We don't really get industry exposure, and the curriculum is also not useful. We don't properly get what other students get from their colleges. The college is not worthy, and I am not happy with it. The college must improve in many things.

The curriculum of every course is different as they have some variations in them. The exam structure of every course is same as there will be two exams per subject in a semester, first inside the college and the other is outside the college.
