Vivekananda College Admission 2025 FAQs

Ques. What are the ECA and sports quota admission eligibility criteria?

Ans. Admissions through ECA and sports quota in Vivekananda College are based on merit and involve trials or auditions along with CUET. 2.5% of overall UG intake is reserved by the college for both ECA and sports categories, so competition is very selective. In case of sports, hockey, handball, kabaddi, basketball, and archery are the categories that are provided. For ECA, options such as theater, music (vocal/instrumental), creative writing, photography, animation, debate, and yoga are offered.

Ques. Is there any entrance test for certain courses at Vivekananda College?

Ans. No, all undergraduate admissions in Vivekananda College are done through CUET-UG.

There are no independent entrance examinations carried out by the college for any course. The candidates have to take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The admissions are purely merit-based and centrally managed through Delhi University's CSAS portal, where the students choose the desired courses and colleges. CUET scores specific to the subjects (depending on the requirement for the course) are taken into consideration, and cutoffs are course and competition-dependent.

Ques. What student learning and well-being facilities does the college provide?

Ans. Vivekananda College offers a variety of core facilities for educational and personal growth.

They have a well-established library, specialized computer labs, an auditorium, and basic medical facilities. There is also a canteen offering affordable food and snacks. Wi-Fi connection exists in designated areas on the campus, and there are lifts and ramps for accessibility. While the infrastructure is neither too modern nor vast, it is neat, efficient, and well-preserved. The lack of a hostel within the campus is a downer, but the campus makes up for it with a secure and student-friendly setting, so day scholars find it easy to stay there.

Hindi Hons are not offered by all DU colleges, as though my parents warned me for a girls college and top level girls colleges like the Gargi, LSR or KNC. So, with a score of 600 in UG CUET available girls college was ours. That is the procedure not just for our college but all the DU colleges. I tried for an upgradation too but still couldn't find any seats in any top DU college.

Now, I'm better versed in this so I'd suggest try going for a specific field if you can. But, if you want diversity and have enterpreneurship as a long-term goal then these types of courses are better.
