Loreto College Kolkata Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The college follows the curriculum laid down by the University Grants Commission as adopted by the University of Calcutta. The syllabus is extensive and focused. Although the CBCS curriculum of Psychology is a bit theoretical in nature, it prepares students for course-appropriate career options or further studies in the field. The curriculum is divided into specific papers that help students explore their interests. There is room for improvement in the amount of time provided to complete a semester. Although ideally, a semester is supposed to be 6 months long, it is usually reduced in reality to 3-4 months and sometimes even a little over 2 months. The college professors do a wonderful job at teaching, although this dearth of time available often hinders them from exploring topics of interest in greater detail at the risk of not being able to cover the entire syllabus in the short time available. For the CBCS system, examinations are held at the end of every semester.

Placement opportunities are not that much. It is mainly for students from the Economics Course. A few companies which have come for providing employment opportunities to students are ICICI, Indigo. I feel more placement opportunities are provided to students.

The Environment of the college is safe for girls and the college takes great care in terms of academics. The faculty is more or less good and I've been hearing good things about the college and it's excellence from its seniors. The only drawback is it's very conservative in it's nature, thoughts and actions. There are some useless events that occur in the name of religious sentiments. Otherwise it is aided with good libraries and also good and working instruments for lab support. Overall a good college to take admission to.

Usually, there are placements from Loreto College. However, the batch of 2020 suffered bad luck due to Covid and everything becoming online. Other than those who were interested in placements, the majority chose to pursue higher studies in different institutions here and all over India.

The Economics department had great results in the past years. So wanted to study economics due to its excellent teaching staff in economics department in Loreto College. Also Loreto College has had the reputation for its discipline maintained in college.

We have a good placement cell that was recently formed in the year 2012, to help students get a job in a reputed company. Over the past few years, students were successfully placed in various MNCs with a good salary package.

We have a newly formed placement cell in our college. It was formed in 2012 for the recruitment of fresh graduates from the college. Many big corporate companies are the recruiters in our placement cell and have recruited numerous students in the past few years.

Loreto College is one of the most reputed colleges in Kolkata. It is well known for its Academics and overall grooming of the students. Also the there is no problem related to transportation. Placement cell is also present in the college.
