Remarks

The eligibility criteria are 10+2. Students who pass off the cut off provide the college get through the merit list and finally a personal interview round is taken by the professors of that particular department and by the principal of the college. In the PI round, a few background questions are asked, nothing to worry about.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I was in the Psychology honours course. The faculty consisted of 5 teachers, all of whom were highly qualified with 2 having PhD and the others having an MPhil degree. The teaching method was excellent putting emphasis on topics inside as well as outside the course curriculum. We were also made to watch interesting video clips, movies to help us understand any particular topic.

Internships Opportunities

5

I worked as a Social Worker intern at The Missionaries Of Charity. There was no stipend available. We mainly had to select an organization wherein we had to work for a month and make a daily report at the end of the internship. It was a wonderful internship and I am grateful that Loreto College provided me with this opportunity.

Placement Experience

3

Placement opportunities are not that much. It is mainly for students from the Economics Course. A few companies which have come for providing employment opportunities to students are ICICI, Indigo. I feel more placement opportunities are provided to students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees policy is good and costs to study is also good. The scholarship is provided to the meritorious candidate, financial assistance is provided to those who need it and job placement opportunities are there like Indigo, ICICI.

Campus Life

5

Loreto College has a lot of clubs like Literary Society, Psychology Society, Eastern Cultural Society, Western Cultural Society, Drama Society, etc. Each society conducts events throughout the year and also participates in events conducted by other colleges. Every year we have an annual fest- SAMAGAM wherein all the societies gather together to showcase their talent and invite other colleges to participate as well. Loreto also gives a lot of emphasis on social work. It is compulsory for the 3rd Year students to participate in any kind of social work and make a report of it.

Interview Experience

5

There was no group discussion. Just a personal interview round conducted by the faculty members of the department and the principal of the college. In the PI round, they asked about my background, hobbies, interests and why did I want to take up Psychology as the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
