- There is no politics in this college and the environment is pretty peaceful .
- The teachers here in my college are really supportive sometimes they scold but still they are helpful and they helps in studies a lot.
- There is a gym in the college, a huge common room where we can chill, and huge library full of books.
Dislikes
- The canteen food its really bad and they give it in very less quantity according to the price.
- They dont give placments as such and will have to be too much perfect then only we can survive coz sometimes the environment gets too much competitive.
- The fest of our college which is Samagam is not really a high budget and the auditorium is very compact.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose history honours because i want to take history as my optional in upsc preparations and the faculty of History department of loreto college is great and in Idc i have geography and minor as political science so all these subjects going to help me in my competitive exam which i am targeting in future. No improvement is required as sich in the curriculum and the teaching method could be a little innovative although the teachers in my college try their best to make us the topic understand. In my second i find that we have been given a little less time although first semester was awesome.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees is pretty much decent in our college no comments on that .The cost per semester varies because per semester we choose different subjects have their practicals , so for that reason subjects keeps on varying . Information were given about scholarships but they did not provide us scholarship name kanyashree. No stipends they provide they want free volunteers .
Campus Life
So the annual fest which happens in our college is Samagam, typically happens in the month of December. O the library in my college is huge and it has a lot of books in it , one can find the place of the book by just knowing the name of the book and typing it into the computer and one can know the exact location of the book. The classrooms have projectors and speakers set and class rooms are spacious,we have a computer lab as well . Well there are various soceities for various co curricular activities like, dance society, Nss society, history society, library society, games society and the list goes on . Ummm yes there is a social grp like cyber cell where one can go to the president of the college and directly ask for help if anyone is bullying or anything as such.
Admission
The eligibility is that u must have pass class 12 with a decent percent so that u can make in the cutoff list of the college. One can find the application form from the website of loreto college, have to pay 400 rupees for the application by submitting all the documents they will ask and then wait till u find your name and registration no. Into the list they release . They will mail u come for Kyc(konw your college) where u choose your subjects for rest of the years under the guidance of the proffessors .My college is a Christian minority college so they reserve seats for christian girls.The admission process and payment of fees is absolutely online , and there is no complain as such in the admission process.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 1:6 and all the faculty members are well spoken they are highly qualified and have done phd in their subjects .They teach really well and always asks for doubts to get clarify. In our interactions with our professors are pretty often , despite from the fact we can approach during the class and during the lunch breaks , we have mentoring session 2-3 times each semester, which is the great thing. During this mentoring session we can share our problems we face in academics or any other problem , it may be regarding career counselling, settling in the environment of college ,they will provide solutions.
