Political Science as a discipline is quite a bigger domain, which has a huge area to cover, so in terms of comprehensiveness, it was enough to build ones understanding on the subject fully, provided the immense support of the faculty was an add on. The faculties made use of every possible Teaching method starting from Lecture, Discussion, also engaged students in PPT Presentation, Oral Presentation, made us watch documataries, made us visit libraries and read various books, made us write notes from the other reference books. In short, it was enough to build an overall understanding as well as helped me a lot further to go ahead with Masters course.

There are four staff members in my department. I belong to the department of Political science. Apart from academics other curriculum activities are also taken place very often in college which ensures that students get wider knowledge of other subjects apart from their own courses.

The courses offered in this college are at par with the present need. The curriculum aligns with the masters of different universities around the world or the industries one would want to enter in. However the curriculum lacks some practicality.

There are College Placements. A Placement Cell has been made . Companies like ICICI Bank, Wipro and TCS do come for placements but the number of employment is relatively less and the package is 8lakh per annum highest which is rare.

This curriculum is enriched with literature works by British and American writers which is really enjoyable to read and the Teachers make it more exciting. Teachers are really good at explaining every single point in the syllabus. In the history of literature part they give us notes about each and every write a and there works so that we are familiar with most of the part of our syllabus. They does not teach only for the exams but they make sure that we learn everything with depth. We have a semester exams in every 6 month but sometimes it becomes 7 or 5. But the teachers are really supportive so that we don't panic in our exams.

I'm pursuing English Honours which is a four-year undergraduate course. I am an aspiring teacher which made me choose this specific course. English is a medium through which we can bring about certain changes in society. A good teacher must have efficient communication skills which is possible through English. Every field demands that professionals must have effective communication skills which is possible through English. We have eight semesters altogether each of six months. We are required to sit for end-sem exams every six months which evaluate the knowledge we gained in those six months.

I chose history honours because i want to take history as my optional in upsc preparations and the faculty of History department of loreto college is great and in Idc i have geography and minor as political science so all these subjects going to help me in my competitive exam which i am targeting in future. No improvement is required as sich in the curriculum and the teaching method could be a little innovative although the teachers in my college try their best to make us the topic understand. In my second i find that we have been given a little less time although first semester was awesome.

the course that i have opted for is Political science hons, i took it for career benefits like civil services exam, SSC exams and more. It awares you about what is happening around the world with proper concept behind it, with different schools of studies and more. As it is under CU, Calcutta University the difficulty and study pressure is really high and the exam dates depend on CU. and as it is said no one can really predict CU.

The college follows the curriculum laid down by the University Grants Commission as adopted by the University of Calcutta. The syllabus is extensive and focused. Although the CBCS curriculum of Psychology is a bit theoretical in nature, it prepares students for course-appropriate career options or further studies in the field. The curriculum is divided into specific papers that help students explore their interests. There is room for improvement in the amount of time provided to complete a semester. Although ideally, a semester is supposed to be 6 months long, it is usually reduced in reality to 3-4 months and sometimes even a little over 2 months. The college professors do a wonderful job at teaching, although this dearth of time available often hinders them from exploring topics of interest in greater detail at the risk of not being able to cover the entire syllabus in the short time available. For the CBCS system, examinations are held at the end of every semester.

The course and curriculum is a bit strict. The faculty members are great. They are very co-operative. English honours is comparatively tough for CBSE students because there is a lot more to study with respect to literature.
