I got this IIT Palakkad based on JEE rank. I preferred Civil engg branch bcoz this is my passion. I thought to get some good College on this rank but I failed to get it as my rank was not so good. I got admitted in the clg after JOSAA counseling in the month of August. Not much information was available on internet when I opted for this college.
This college first of all being new is under guidance of IIT Madras which is well known for its research and studies. Also it has Data science which being one of the best branch one-can choose today. Faculties are also expert in their domain and ready to help always. Course is well designed. All the required labs are there. As it is new IIT so construction is going on with good pace towards full fledge campus.Admission took place on the basis of GATE score. Admission took Place by COAP portal. Due to current pandemic admission process was delayed from usual dates of COAP.Yourpedia helped in selecting this college.
I have a passion for space tech and electrodynamics. This made me prioritise on Electrical Engineering branch. The EE Department of IIT Palakkad has good faculty mentors who can guide you in a research-orientated way. Apart from that, it is closer to my hometown than the rest of the 3rd generation IITs. This made to conclude on IIT Palakkad as the first choice. The admission process is conducted by Josaa. For the freshers, the usual admission date will be during the last week of July and the orientation programme will be starting from the 1st week of August(not applicable to online sem).
Since the college is closer to my home town I chose this institute. The admission is through COAP. The college is located near the western ghats mountains. The construction of the college is now going on.
1. Computer Science Branch2. Among one of the newly established premier institutes 3. Lot of opportunities to take initiatives and lead by the example4. Being not much crowded results in a better communication between faculties and students5. Many young faculties who are quite helpful and supportive6. Competitive 100% placements for computer science branch7. Amazing campus spread by hillside8. Nice Weather most of the time of the year
I chose this college because I was allotted this college according to my rank in the joint entrance examination advanced exam. There is no other specific or particular reason behind it. One advantage I have considered is the environment it is situated in. This college is in Kerala, and this state is also kind of near to my home state. Negative aspect is that it is one of the newly established IITs. At the time I joined the college, there was not a single batch that passed out. So I was not sure about the placements. But I don't regret my decision of joining this college. The faculty is good and even the placements and internships are also good. However the infrastructure and the facilities are not like those of old IITs. These are still under development. But as of now the facilities are good.
The admission process is only through the rank you secure in the JEE Advanced Examination.
My experience till now at IIT Palakkad has been full of adventures. The quality of the education I am receiving is remarkable. The faculty and staff are always there to make the journey smooth. The facilities and infrastructure of the college is satisfying.
I sat for JEE advanced according to the dates by the institute. I had PCMB for 10+2 and scored above 90% but my JEE advanced scores is what mattered the most. JEE mains are also not applicable. It is just the advanced scores.
I got access by breaking the JEE Advanced entrance exam, but hard work helps anyway. I got a 14000 rank, so I got civil engineering here. After selection visit the college and fill the admission form and also submit some documents.
Based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams, I got into my program. I went through counseling with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. There are 7 different types of counseling. Later after selection college calls you for filling the admission form and submit some necessary documents.
