Boards 75% criteria
What are the subjects required for 75% criteria for boards? Is pcm + english + optional subject compulsory or we can choose our best 5 subjects?(excluding p/c/m) the sources online are confusing as well. Has anyone taken admission in NIT/IIIT/IIT with his preference of subjects for 75% criteria?
  • TerraDrifterTerraDrifter
    Pcm+English+optional subject is the criteria

Should I go for NEET after spending 2 years in B.Tech at an IIT?
I'm currently in my second year of [B.Tech](http://B.Tech) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at an IIT. Recently, I've been seriously thinking about preparing for NEET to pursue MBBS,(mainly due to concerns around job security)I'm feeling increasingly unsure about the future prospects of my current degree. The job market for engineers (especially specialized branches like bioengineering, seems quite unstable and limited)I'm unsure whether switching paths now is the right decision or if I should try to make the most out of my current program. What should I do? Any advice would be really helpful. My qualifications: 2nd year [B.Tech](http://B.Tech) student

Bioengineering is gonna boom bro, have you seen neuralink sales? Once elon comes to India do you think he wont capitalize on biotech here?

ECE (IIEST Shibpur) or CS (New IITs) or Civil, IIEST Shibpur (would save my year). I'm stuck in this situation
Firstly a little background on me. I am a 2024 pass-out. I was amongst the state toppers in my X CBSE with 98.8%. I have done my schooling from DPS Ruby Park. I got 94.6% in XII CBSE (PCM Computer Science). My father had passed away from blood cancer while I was appearing for my board exams and my jee didn't really go well. I got into IIEST Shibpur Civil Engineering in 2024. I am really interested in Computer Sciences so I thought would be able to change my branch. I missed 3 of my 2nd sem exams for dengue fever and they won't allow me to appear for the branch change. (1st Sem SGPA 8.6/ would be able to easily get a CGPA of 8.8 if they allow me to sit for the exams before branch change) Since I had to study for my college, couldn't really focus on JEE, but can get into ECE, IIEST Shibpur and start afresh. I request your help in choosing what I should be pursuing now, CS in newer IITS like sonepat, kottayam etc..( I do have financial constraints) or ECE in IIEST Shibpur (can i pursue MS in CS abroad?) or Civil Engineering in IIEST (would save my year/can I move into CS later?). I just want to remind that I am really into computer science and have good knowledge in Python, DBMS, OOPS, HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT. My peers whom I mentored once are targeting the FAANG so there is that FOMO.

Help, need advice/guidance on dropping after not meeting 75% criteria
i only have 72% in my 12th boards (so NIT/lIT are not possible) and if i take a drop this year and give JEE mains 2026 and say score something decent. What are my options? Should i give improvement exam? or look forward to other colleges? if yes which colleges would you recommend
  • StaticSurgeStaticSurge
I suggest u give improvement exam, because u are very close to 75, since syllabus is same, it won't be a time waste, plus u will get chance for iit and not in drop. So Imo improvement exam and preparation is best option for you. Don't hurry to take a college, good college late is better than bad college early. Give improvement and take drop

in need of some serious guidance regarding college
Okay so I did my 11th and 12th in PCM, didn't take any coaching, coz my family and I agreed that we did not want to do the whole IIT thing (huge respect for everyone who does it's just not my cup of tea)qualifications - Now boards r out and I got 88.4, which is honestly fine by meJee didn't give obv and cuet I gave aise hi and got math+phys= 85 percentile, mass media-94, English-98, and chem= 90perceentilepls recommend some college for [B.Tech](http://b.tech/), preferably (biotech/cse/environmental/ece), preferably in Delhi/Bombay/Pune/Bangalore, anywhere where there are a lot of different types of people and lots of exposureI'm getting seats in some colleges here and there in Dehradun and Jaipur with decent packages (average out to 12-15), but I don't wanna go there as one of my top priorities is exposure.I've lived pretty secluded my whole life in the army cantts, so I need to go somewhere I can experience a lot of new things and learn a lot.I've given my srmjee and we'll see what the result holdsIf you guys have any reccs, for colleges that take without JEE/ by boards marks/entrance test that's still open, please help a girl out.PS would prefer Delhi. will get some college in DU but idt they offer B .Tech (only BSc)And I'm fine with an okay-ish college as long as it gives me the exposure, + I'll go for higher studies later on.thank you bhai

Help needed (College Selection)
# JEE Mains 2025 – 98.7%ile (~20,000 CRL) | Need Help Shortlisting Colleges Hi everyone, I recently appeared for **JEE Mains 2025** and secured a **percentile of \~98.7**, which gives me a **CRL rank around 20,000** (± a few ranks). I’m trying to figure out the best possible options I have, especially after **JoSAA** and **CSAB** rounds, and would love to hear your thoughts. # Branch Preferences * I don’t have a strict branch preference, but I’d **prefer a 4-year circuital branch** (CSE, ECE, EE, etc.). * **Not keen on non-core branches** like Civil or Mining for various reasons (interest, placements, etc.). * Open to flexible or interdisciplinary options if the college reputation and peer group are strong. Colleges I’ve Shortlisted So Far 1. **IIITs** – Mixed opinions here. Some (like IIIT Gwalior, Jabalpur, etc.) seem promising, but I’m unsure about long-term value vs. NITs. 2. **DTU (EE)** and **NSUT (ECE)** – Hoping for upgradations here through later rounds. 3. **NITs** – I want to avoid most North Eastern ones due to location concerns, but **NIT Silchar** is still under consideration. 4. **BIT Mesra** – Again, mixed reviews. Good brand but varied placement reports. # Not Considering * **VITEEE** – Got around 7,000 rank but not planning to join (too many concerns around transparency, fees, and value). * **Private Tier-2 colleges** unless absolutely necessary. # What I Need Help With * Which **IIITs/NITs are worth it** at this rank? Any hidden gems? * Should I **prefer DTU/NSUT over newer IIITs/NITs**? * Any colleges I might have **missed** that are **underrated but great** for ECE/EE/CSE? * Is **BIT Mesra** worth considering for CSE in 2025? * Would it be smarter to **wait for CSAB** rounds or lock in something safer early? Any genuine feedback, suggestions, or personal experiences are appreciated. Thanks in advance (Speaking of it, it was a disaster not feeling good about advanced, not much expectations) and best of luck to everyone out there!

imo getting a cse/ece in an homestate NIT would be best.just check acc to or-cr of josaa and make your bucket list. Except top IIITs(H,B,A,D) not advisable to go for IIITs. Prefer an NIT
