Yeah, that's kind of the thing with research... You need a very very good rank if you want to do any kind of research in science (not looking at you, biology). And there's not much scope of research in India. You'll love your job but your life will be miserable. They pay like 70k/month to scientists. Even in private institutions, you'll be earning peanuts. It's best if you go abroad and try there, IMO. If you're still not convinced...

Aspiring Student Seeking Guidance After High School
Hey everyone!
I'm a 16-year-old student with a deep passion for astrophysics, and I'm determined to pursue this path at one of the world's top universities. I'll be graduating from high school next year, and right now, I'm focusing on 11 subjects in total.
But I'm looking for some clarity:
What should I study after high school to make it easier for me to achieve my goal of becoming an astrophysicist?
I've always been inspired by the legacies of great astrophysicists throughout history, and I want to one day reach their level — not just academically, but in terms of contribution to the field.
Any guidance on what steps I should take from here would mean a lot! Ive posted here because I think I would have to be AIR 1 in JEE TO guarantee admission
