Sastra (Thanjavur) or SRM KTR for BTech Biotechnology
I am getting btech biotechnology in both of them. Which one would be better with good roi. Also biotechnology is my personal interest and i am well aware about placement and scope. I just wanted to know which one would be better for a seniors perspective. Qualifications 12th pass

I have got 16k rank in jee mains ( gen male). I have been allotted SPIT comp in mhtcet cap round. Can anyone suggest me a good NIT/IIIT with placement and coding culture better than SPIT. I am opting for only CSE and its related branches (AI, DS, MNC) in NIT and IIIT

Help me
96.9% in boards. Dropped a year for JEE Mains and failed. I have no interest in BTech tbh but can't move forward with what I have interest in due to personal reasons. So I've some plans 1) Take BTech Mechanical —> then GME / MTech or MBA from abroad/Top Indian schools 2) CSE BTech —> MBA from abroad or top Indian schools I might get Govt engineering college of Kerala for Mech or CSE in not so bad aided colleges. Or the option I've left is LPU and other private universities. On the basis of my 12 score, I'm able to get BTech in Mech at LPU for 42k/sem and CSE for 56k/sem which seems so cheap compared to any other private colleges. I'm really stuck here. What should I do? Apart from placement, I really need startup exposure and great college life

From IIT dreams to job struggle just needed to vent.
Back in 10th grade, I had one dream — to get into IIT. I worked really hard and scored 80% in JEE Main (2020). That was during the COVID lockdown. Our board exams were about to end — just one last paper left — and then the government announced a sudden lockdown. Later, we wrote our PU exams. Since I got 80% in JEE, I considered taking a drop to try again. But I kept thinking, What if I don’t make it next time? So I joined a government diploma college in Computer Science, thinking it would be more affordable. During my 3rd and 4th semesters, I had college from 9 AM to 5 PM. After that, I used to prepare for JEE again, barely sleeping 4 hours a day —. It took a toll. I couldn’t balance both, and that’s when I came to know about GATE. During diploma, I stayed in a hostel where I met final-year B.Tech students from a reputed college. They were well-focused, motivated, and had strong placements. Some of them even landed jobs at companies like Mastercard, EY, etc. I looked up to them and thought — one day I’ll also be like them. But life had different plans. After completing diploma, I got into RV College for Electrical —. But it wasn’t in my hometown, and I was afraid I'd lose focus on GATE prep. So I stayed in my hometown and joined a local college in the ISE department. I worked hard again. But honestly, during my B.Tech, most of the students around me were very small-minded. None of them were serious about their career or future. Many just wanted to pass and leave — no passion, no ambition. It was hard to stay motivated in that environment. In my 3rd year, I qualified GATE — but the score wasn’t good enough to get into any IIT. So I decided to prepare again during my final year. But this time, I was mentally exhausted. I lacked consistency and unfortunately missed qualifying by just 1 mark —. My college had no real placements. The highest package was just 6 LPA, and the average was around 3 LPA. I didn’t get a good GATE score, and I didn’t get placed either. Every day, I feel like I made a mistake choosing this college. Most of my classmates got in through management quota, and here I am — still struggling, still hustling. From dreaming of IIT… To fighting through diploma… To qualifying GATE once… To missing it by 1 mark again… To watching placement opportunities slip away… Once a guy who dreamt big… is now struggling to get a job.

Starting out with DSA, help your junior out please!
Hey, I got 99.5%ile in mains which gets me cs/ece in a decent NIT.. I am planning to pursue DSA in c++. I know the basics of c++, sorting, bitwise operations etc.. I was wondering whether i should join a DSA oriented batch such as ALPHA 7.0 or should I just learn from youtube (I like a structured approach slightly inclined towards a batch). It would be really awesome if you guys could drop some good resources and tips for me, thanks!!

Choosing Between Oriental, LNCT, ITER, and KIIT for CSE – Need Honest Advice on ROI, Exposure & Family Situation
I’m helping my younger sister choose between a few colleges for CSE/CSDS, her qualifications are 12th passed out and I’d really appreciate honest advice from anyone who’s been in a similar situation especially when it comes to balancing cost, college reputation, and long-term career outcomes.Options:* Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal – CSDS branch through regular counseling. Around ?4–5L total cost. We own a house in Bhopal, so housing and living costs would be minimal.* LNCT, Bhopal – Stronger reputation and better placement stats, but it requires a ?6L donation for the seat, making the total cost approximately ?12L.* ITER (SOA), Bhubaneswar – Around ?12L. Good placements and they promote industry collaborations and offer internships with companies like Fidelity, Samsung PRISM, and HighRadius.* KIIT, Bhubaneswar – Known for its placement network and brand value. Total cost is approximately ?18.5L for 4 years. Background:We’re originally from Bhopal, but we’ve lived most of our lives in Bhubaneswar. I was raised by a single mother who managed both the household and our small business on her own. Because she had to handle everything alone, the business never really grew, and we struggled financially for a long time. Now I’m working in Pune and can support my mom and sister financially even if they don’t earn anything for a few years. If my sister chooses a Bhopal college, my mom can relocate into our own home there, potentially restart a business, and finally have some stability. What I’m Struggling With:* Do ITER or KIIT offer significantly better internship/placement exposure that would justify their higher cost?* Will choosing Oriental or LNCT in Bhopal limit her chances of landing product-based roles or top internships?* Is it smarter to save money and rely on off-campus efforts (DSA, GitHub, dev projects, LinkedIn) or to pay more for a better brand/network?* Has anyone here chosen a low-cost college and still made it to a good role? Or regretted paying for a premium college?I’m trying to make a decision that balances financial sanity, long-term ROI, career opportunity, and family stability. Would love to hear from anyone who’s faced similar choices or seen how these colleges actually perform. Thanks a lot in advance.I have rephrased it with GPT, too burned out to write all by myself.

Is MAC in IGDTUW a good engineering branch?
I'm getting mac for the past 3 rounds in igdtuw without any upgradation (jac delhi). Pls tell me if its a cool branch I mean I'm not really comfortable with mathematics and haven't scored the best (around 90-92%) even in high school. I thought that most of it would be cs and you know prolly 50-50% of both cs and math but you tubers are saying its mostly maths and might be tough for someone not very familiar with the sub. Pls guide Also, I don't think the upgradation would be to the best of branches in the upcoming rounds. I'm really upset pls help. Without flair ho nhi raha tha isliye cse IT daalna pada
