IIT Palakkad Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

In a very short period of time the college us able to match the standards of IIT. Few of my batchmates received pre-placement offers during the college internship program. The college was able to provide the highest package of around 30 LPA and the average package was 11 LPA. Arista Network, Google, TCS Research, Mckinsey, Honeywell, Texas instruments and Larson and Toubro were the top recruiters. Almost more than 65+ companies participated in the college placement drive.

The college is new but that does not mean that college placement is not good. The college placement is as per the IITs norms and standard means the placement quality of the colleges is very good. In the placement process, the placement committee plays a very important role as the placement programs are organised by the committee so the committee is responsible for inviting good company. The committee was able to invite good companies and they also helped us during the placement rounds so that we can receive good placement offers. The highest package for our batch was around 35 LPA and the average salary package was around 12 LPA.

IIT Palakkad successfully bagged the highest package of INR 31.5 lakh and average package of INR 11.42 Lakh. 90% of the students were placed and the most of the remaining went on for higher studies. Recruiting companies from R&D, IT and analytics visited the institution. These companies included Arista Network, Google, TCS Research, Mckinsey, Honeywell, Texas instruments and Larson and Toubro. According to the placement data provided, it was observed that the people who did internships and live projects during their academic year of study were given a placement preference above those who missed out on these experiences. The second criteria was soft skills.

The college has a good placement record and the college provides a good return on investment. The college has a 100% placement record. The placement cell not only attract market leader for placement drive but also helps us and guides us during the placement drive of the college. IIT Palakkad is a new member in IIT and the placement record of the college are similar to all IIT you won't feel disappointed at all. the placement cell is able to attract good companies for placement. JEE Rank was the main factor. The facilities like hostel, labs, etc mentioned in the IIT Palakkad website. During the allotment process, one senior girl student of my branch contacted me and cleared all my doubts whether it was small or big, placement details, etc. After the rankings were released, based on the previous years cut-off ranks, I was able to get a fair idea about the colleges I would be able to join among all the IITs, NITs, IIITs. Based on JEE Mains rankings, NIT or IIITs can be chosen. Based on JEE Advance ranking, IIT can be chosen. Also, 2 mock allotment will take place which gives a fair idea of which allotment we will get. These mock allotment will be based on our preferences. We can change them after the mock. Then the actual allotment will start. Once we finalise our preferences and lock them, there will be 7 rounds of allocation. 3 options will be given in each round-Float, Freeze,Slide (details will be clearly mentioned in the website). Once you are allocated a seat in any round, document verification will take place (seat acceptance fee must be paid at this stage).

IIT Palakkad is from the new tier of IITs. I got in touch with the female students and Professors through the Jee Helpdesk. I asked them, why they joined this place. I was scared that I won't get good experience as it's one of the new IITs. Their answers and their youtube page confirmed that they have a lot of opportunities for students. After the result of Jee advanced, I enroll myself with JOSAA website. On the website, I have to fill up my list of preferences which involved College Name and the course. Before IIT Palakkad - Electrical Engineering, I had IIT Dhanbad - Electronics Engineering. After that, I had lined up Electrical Engineering at other new IITs. My name reason to choose IIT Palakkad over those was because through the pictures and news available at the college website, campus looked well established and very beautiful.I have spent four years studying in IIT Palakkad and it has completely transformed me. When you're studying for JEE Mains or Advanced, sometimes you give up your hobbies or maybe everything and focus on studies. This place gave me a chance to rewrite myself, nurture my talents. I am a part of the technical clubs, the annual techno-cultural fest and manage my studies. If I chose an old well established IIT, I might have never got these many chances to explore. In terms of academics, I am so glad that I chose the Department of Electrical Engineering here because they have such vast variety of courses to choose from and it has been so much easier to work in interdisciplinary fields like Robotics. I got to work on projects with brilliant professors from different streams as well.
