Remarks
My GATE score was between 500 to 600 and I wanted to be part of IIT so I have to look for an institute according to my score so that I can meet the cutoff of IIT. In my research, I found IIT Palakkad guided by IIT Madras(one of the most popular and top-rated colleges in IIT), and the college also provides opportunities for research work and I was also looking college as per my budget. So I decided to be part of IIT Palakkad and to be part of IIT Palakkad I have to qualify GATE exam that I already did and must secure a minimum of 55% marks in my bachelor's degree.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of the program is like IIT Madras which means the curriculum is according to the latest international industrial standards and norms. The labs are equipped with the latest and modern technology which helps a lot during our project work. The faculty and the student ratio is 1:9 which gives us an opportunity to interact with faculty a lot.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is part of the curriculum but it is optional whoever wants to skip the internship can skip it. The college placement cell helps us a lot to identify companies for internships according to our interests. But the stipend depends according to the company and tenure so the stipend for an internship starts from Rs. 20000/- to Rs. 2,00,000/-.
Placement Experience
The college has a good placement record and the college provides a good return on investment. The college has a 100% placement record. The placement cell not only attract market leader for placement drive but also helps us and guides us during the placement drive of the college. The highest package for our batch was around 26 LPA and the average package went up to 15 LPA. Google, Arista Network, TCS Research, McKinsey, Honeywell, Texas Instruments, Microsoft, etc are the companies that participated in the college placement drive. Around 75+ companies took part in the college placement drive.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides scholarships on a merit basis. I was able to pay my college expense so I did not apply for the scholarship. The college also provides scholarships for SC/ST/PWD. To know more about the college scholarship and eligibility you can visit the college official website.
Campus Life
Petrichor is the college annual fest that we all are excited about. The college campus life is good and fine. The faculty, seniors and the administrative staff of the college are very friendly and cooperative. The labs are equipped with all kinds of modern equipment for research and project activities. The college library is big and all types of academic and non-academic books are available. The college also has students run clubs like Robotics Club, Data Analysis Club, Drama Club, Dance Club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is well maintained and cleaned. The hostel room is shared by 2-3 students. The rooms are equipped with beds, study tables for every student and almirahs. The rooms are spacious and properly ventilated. The mess food quality is very good. Every hostel rooms have an attached bathroom. The hostel provides us with 24 hours of high-speed internet connectivity through WiFi. The hostel is equipped with every kind of facility for us.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is of PhD level and with good research experience. The faculty is very cooperative and friendly they guide a lot during the research work and any project activity. The motivates us to take part in research and projects so that our analytical and decision, making skills can be enhanced.
