IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Students are been eligible for placement in the 4th year of the B.Tech course. Companies like Microsoft, Google, and Wipro visit the campus. The placement cell is great. Many students try for civil services too.

Only final-year students are eligible for campus placement. All the tech giants come to kn campus placement and hire a good number of students. For Examples:- Google, Microsoft, Uber, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, etc. The highest packages are between 1.5cr to 2cr And the average is 12 to 14 lacs. Above 70 percent of students gets placement on campus. My plan is to be a data analyst after getting the degree and placement from my college

Campus placements are one of the major sources through which most of the students get placed. With an ever-improving Career Development Cell, there is an increase in the number of students getting placed through the cell before December. The placement packages can start anywhere from 10L and go as high as 1Cr+ with companies from foreign countries looking for the best talent on this campus. After getting a degree, there are multiple avenues such as Masters Abroad, MBA, UPSC, etc., with most students preferring for going to a job.

If you are B. Tech students, eligibility for campus Placements is in the seventh semester and if you are dual degree m.tech students, eligibility is in the ninth semester. There are a lot of companies visiting our campus like Google, Microsoft, Apple, DE shaw, JP Morgan, Goldmann Sachs, American Express, Alphonso, Walmart, ABinBev, Honeywell, HCL, Wipro, TCS, Infosys etc. No. Of offers made is approx 2000. The highest package is 2 crore from Facebook as a software engineer. An average package is 15 lacs. There are many profiles offered like software, Data science, MT, ET, finance, management, core etc. Approx more than 80% of students get placements and the rest are not sit in placement because of going for higher studies like MS, doing startups, preparing civil services, or engaging in other things.

From 4th year students can apply for placement. There are lots of companies that visited campus in the past year. There is a CDC center for this placement and internship. Though a small bunch of people goes for higher studies.

Most of the teachers are qualified enough to become professors at IIT Kharagpur which is a good reason for the facilities to be that great. Faculty members are highly educated in their respective fields and have taught most of the students who became alumni. They keep changing the course content to adapt to the industry trends but are not very frequent.

I cleared CAT, which was a required examination here. My CAT score was enough to get admission here and I soon received a call letter after filling application form. I had to show all my academic transcripts for verification, which included my class 10th and 12th score card, graduation degree, and relevant internship certificates.

Campuses placement of IIT Kharagpur is probably one of the best in India with over 300 companies visit campus last year and over 1600 student places in 1st phase of placement with average pacage was 16 lac and highest offer given was 2.5 crore

In terms of placement, the college is one of the most popular. The highest salary offer at the college was 1 CPA, while the average income offer was roughly 20 LPA. The college has a very good track record of 100% placement. The members of the college placement committee are very knowledgeable, and they assist us in every way possible during the college placement rounds. The return on investment in education is excellent.

Course for B.Tech in chemical engineering is of 4 years. It is the same as a normal engineering course. The 1st year is common for all students. Then segregation starts from the 2nd year and onwards. The faculty are highly educated and cooperative. There is one professor for each batch appointed as a mentor who guides the students in careers and any other problems.
