Remarks

First, you have to qualify JEE Main then have to get decent rank in JEE Advanced. On the basis of your rank in JEE advanced you can apply for counseling through JOSAA. Application fee for JEE Advanced is 3000 and for counseling it is 2000. You can get the branch according to the seat availability.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am interested in Electronics circuits, VLSI, robotics, etc. There is a good ratio of faculty: student ratio. All the professors are well qualified and very friendly and helpful. There are two exams, mid-term, and end-term as well as class tests depending on the requirements of the course.

Internships Opportunities

You can apply for an internship in 3rd year.you have to apply through CDC centre. You can apply for any field you want. Most of the commpany visit the campus for hiring the interns. Some companies put the CGPA barrier too. There is a need of project to get good intership.

Placement Experience

From 4th year students can apply for placement. There are lots of companies that visited campus in the past year. There is a CDC center for this placement and internship. Though a small bunch of people goes for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a variety of scholarship on the basis of annual income of your family and your skill. You can also avail for loan. There are two banks in the campus which will provide the loan easily. If the family income is below 1 lakh annually then you will get 100 percent scholarship on tuition fee. If it's between 1 to 5 lakh then you have to pay only 1/3rd of the tuition fee. There is also MCM scholarship.

Campus Life

There are two fests namely Kshitij (technical fest) and Spring fest(cultural fest). These fests are conducted in January and February. The institution has a national library where you can get access of most of the books . There is also digital library. Technology student Gymkhana conducts all the extra curricular activities. There is also inter iit competition, general championship.

Hostel Facilities

There is a high-Speed lan connection. The room has a bed, fan, table, etc. The food is also good. You can easily get registered once you get enrolled in any courses. In IIT KGP hostels are called Hall.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

Clg Review

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More
