IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Fifth semesterstudents become eligible for campus placements .Coal India, Bharat Aluminium Company Limited ,Microsoft etc.companies are visited and highest package 2.5 crore and twenty six lakh average package.Around 80% of students getting placements

From 7 th semester of ug students become eligible for placement. Companies like Unacademy, intel, hp, google etc visited this year. Highest package goes up to 1.2 crore and average is around 25 lakh . Every year around 70-75%students got placed on campus.

Around 80-90% of students get placements through campus placement. Others who are left will apply for placement on their own, they apply through LinkedIn and online messaging to the companies, which requires a lot of hard work. Students in their final year are eligible for placements.

The students in semester 7 for 4 year course and for 5 year dual degree 9th semester are eligible for campus placements. There were 1600 offers made in the first phase of campus placements with 90% students being placed. The highest package offer made was 2.4 Crores on campus, where as for off campus it was 4Crores. The average package is around 30-35Lakh where as the median varies department wise with the average being 19-20LPA. Some of the companies that visited , Google, Microsoft, Mc Kinsey, Goldman Sachs, Master Card etc.

CDC conducts the placements and internships in IIT kharagpur. Mostly 200 + companies visit IIT for placements. Every student in their final year are eligible for campus placement. Highest package around 2 cr and average package is around 17 lakhs. Approx 70 percent student get placed. Those students who got Internships get PPOs in the companies and they get placed.I want to do job after my degree.

The placements at my college are pretty talked about and popular. Every year such news headlines are heard like "A student from IIT Kharagpur got a 4cr offer from XYZ company." If someone doesn't get placed then he has to look for off-campus offers, the institute doesn't help with off-campus offers. My plan after getting the degree is to sit for placements and hope for the best.

Course curriculum is amazing.And the faculty is very knowledgable (Classic IIT Professor). Most of the faculty are the top most professors and researchers of the country. They are amazing proffesors and generally very friendly with students (expect 1 or 2).

My course is BS Exploration Geophysics, 4 years and I did not exactly choose this course, I got it based on my rank in JEE Advanced in the general category which was 19398. I have not been properly introduced to the course faculty yet as in the first year no specific branch-related subjects are taught like every student studies the same subjects and appears for the same examinations in the first two semesters irrespective of the branch.

Students are eligible for campus placement from 7th semester. Big companies like Google, Microsoft, Samsung elc visit the campus every year. Almost 80-85 percent students get placed every year. My plans after getting the degree is to live a normal life with my job.

Placements are good. Top companies like Apple, Microsoft and Google do offer placements and PPOs to students. Students are eligible for placements in their final year. Highest offers go up to as high as Rs. 2 Cr or 4 Cr. About 750+ offers including PPOs were made during first few days of the start of the placement season this year in IIT Kharagpur. Overall placement percentage as been above 85%. Profiles of placements vary, including a good mix of both core companies and tech companies. I intend to pursue MS in Economics or MBA, depending on future interests.
