All the big brands and big tech giants come to the campus for great opportunity opportunity for students you can apply for placements from the fifth semester itself.
College provides a lot of scholarships like merit cum means scholarship, inspire scholarship, and fee waiver scheme.
The faculty members are really good as they are great researchers in their respective fields.

Dislikes

But, if we talk about scholarship then it's a bad news that there is no institute scholarship for unreserved students but u can get it for other organisations like nsp.
The hostel rooms are also not good enough and lack cleanliness sometimes and have broken chairs/ tables, etc. at times.
The academic workload can be sometimes demanding, not always but sometimes, leading to stress and pressure among students.

Reality of IIT's

Likes

The campus is so green and beutifull, it feels great to roam around.
There are specific courts, fields for every sport.
Friends we make in the college here are great.

Dislikes

Kharagpur is village, so outside of campus, there is nothing to go to.
Intake of students is huge, the competition is too much in everything.
Professors here are too strict, only 10 minutes of delay in a laboratory of 3 hours make the so mad.

Placement Experience:

In the final year, a student is eligible for campus placements, 75% of the registered students are placed and the others have to go for off campus placements. also here if you are in a good branch, you will get good package otherwise, you will get w=very low package.

Basic building life

Likes

I like the facilities they provide in the college
We have more than 100 clubs in they college that's good
Students have freedom and they can do whatever they want

Dislikes

We should change class room per every period
College starts sometimes at early morning 8 am

Course Curriculum Overview:

We have a total 8-semester exams and also from this year we can opt for a double major in any other course so that's a great chance to follow our passion and also we have a chance of taking a dual degree in 3rd year

The well developed ,lush green campus, started in the higli detention camp so that students remember the sacrifice of our great leaders , and take motivation from them and make a great career. The Hostels , which are called Halls of residence are ama
The faculty here is the country's best . Some are great scientist holding many records and published njmbers of paper. They tech the robust and rigrous curriculum at IIT in a great manner. Students get all facilities and ammenities they require.
The peer group here is the best. You got an opportunity to talk with the best mind of the country. Hou get immense knowledge and experience in peer group

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum followed here is the latest/upgraded after NEP 2020 which helps students to get acquainted with the industry and real-time world. Here we have 1 mid-sem, 1 end-sem, and 2-3 quizzes, every semester, and our course is for 8 semesters. Exams are not that easy for a normal person from a normal college, and also not for IITians, the exams are such level that IITians also scorch their head during exams. But with regular studies, one can get good grades at IIT.

The IIT Kharagpur campus fits the description of an old Indian ashram with countless trees, green fields, birds, amazing lakes and beautiful gardens. There are several parks. The vast expanse and the pure air provide an ideal setting for the sadhana

Dislikes

I hate most is the institutes' library also having the resrvation system in issuing the books.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am new to this curriculum but I am happy with my decision. Median package of this year is 21 lakhs in this course and faculty are too friendly. Exams are a little on the tougher side. We will have field trips for the research purpose overall it's a very underrated branch And we can try non core if we want to...since there is a lot of free time

Likes

The professors are really good and knowledgeable
The campus is really big and has a lot of entertainment things to do
We get to explore a lot of different fields and can get guidance from seniors as well as alumni

Dislikes

Outside the campus there is not much to do cuz its in the outskirts of bengal
The rooms of old hostels are really small and the food is not that great
Long hourse of classes and labs due to which we get really tired

Placement Experience:

The placements record is good of our college, in 4rth year student are eligible for placements , all the major giants visit the campus like Google, Microsoft, Facebook,jp Morgan, Goldman Sachs and qualcomn

Life in KGP

Likes

Great socult culture, the socult societies are well developed and structured like a professional groups
Amazing fest, especially if you are a part of organising team, you get a lot of exposures and experience
Amazing hall culture, elections and illu of kgp are once in a life time experience

Dislikes

It is very much disconnected with any city

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is offered by CDC. After completing 2 years you get to sit in CDC interviews for internships, all the top companies for example google, BCG, McKinskey, and may others visits the college. And after 7th semesters you get to sit for placements. The highest packages goes around 2Cr. You opt for any profile SDE, data, consulting, product. I plan to get placed in product management after my degree.

Likes

I like the environments and ecosystem is elite here.
I like my Hall of residence Nehru Hall where we perform many activities
I like the socs cell culture of IIT Kharagpur

Dislikes

I dont like the huge campus area and Nalanda
I hate to cycle for 10-10 kms everyday in campus
I dont like some professors who give very less grades

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but you have to put a lot of efforts during the time of recession. Thus is the worst phase of the college life where you become stressed, selfish, and nervous. This is the tough scenario to get high packages.

IIT KHARGPUR- WORTH IT?

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester (for btech students), 9th semester (for dual degree students) students are eligible for campus placements. there are numerous companies which visit the campus...and generally nearly all students get placed during the placement season, but recently there has been recession and companies are not taking less number of the students than they usually do.
