Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees for students irrespective of their department is approximately 140000 per semester. You can surely avail various scholarships and also get reduced based on your financial situation. You will also get paid in your final year of study by working as teaching assistant.

IIT Kharagpur - The dream college of JEE Aspirants | Detailed and Comprehensive Review

The total fees here at IIT Kharagpur is divided into 2 portions - semester fees and hostel fees. Semester fees is approximately 120000 per semester i.e, 240000 per year for genearl students and semester fees is zero for SC/ST students or PWD students. There is an option for fee waiver scholarship for economically waeker students. Those who lie in the income range slab - under 1 lakh per annum, will be completely waived off the semester fees and they only have to give the hostel fees. The second group which lie in the income slab - between 1 lakh and 5 lakhs per annum have to pay only one-thirds of their semester fees, while those above 5 lakhs per annum have to give full fees without any waiver. There are other scholarships available here - like MCM scholarship available for meritorious students. The hostel fees here is 40000 per semester. Meritirious and economically weaker students can avail benefits of scholarship.

My course geology has enormous opportunities abroad and even in India and the placement scenario is quite pleasing.So yeah happy to choose IIT kgp.

Fees per year is around 3.1Lakh .For general category,tution fee is around 1 lakh per semester.Caution fee is 4k.Admission fee is 20k .Registration fee is 10k.My friend from ST category has paid 35 k in total.

Reality of IIT's

The yearly fee structure for a general category student is 2 lakh as tution fees and 90000 for hostel fees. But for categories like scheduled caste and scheduled tribe, they only have to pay hostel fees around 90000 per year, their tution fees is 0. And for economically weaker section in general category only 33% of tution fees is taken and hostel fees is also required.

Tuition fees for the semester are 1 lakh and other fees for the semester is 40,000 Through obc certificate, we get fee reimbursement of 1 lakh per sem For sc, st, no fees. Also for oc, there is fee reimbursement Total fees are 12 lakh per four years

IIT kharagpur is the best

Fee structure varies year to year I guess For us it's 154000 per semester. Their will be so many scholarships given by the institute based on your cg and there are many other scholarships that we can opt to...from online websites. Their are scholarships for below 1lakh income families and minorities.

Long hourse of classes and labs due to which we get really tired

The affordability of the course is not a big problem as even for students from a eager economic background there are scholarships which they can avail, for eg scholarships for students enrolled in a Bs course and have cleared NTSE or KVPY along side student loans is also easily available

IIT KHARGPUR- WORTH IT?

Usually depends on the program you want to apply for...as far as my knowledge for btech 4yr course is overall 11 to 12 lakhs and for dual degree course is 14-15 lakhs Indian rupees for general category students, there are some fee relief for reserved categories as well. there are many scholarship offered by the institute for students based on merit and financial condition which can be availed by the students...(generally it is a tedious).

The Truth from my Heart

The tuition fees per semester is around 100000. We can get fee waiver here too because MCM scholarship is available here where you can get your 2/3 fee forgiven. The campus placement here is very good. Big companies like Google Microsoft come every year and take so many students from my College.
