Vibrant and safe campus life with an amazing infrastructure.
academic excellence: institute is known for its academic rigor and excellence in engineering, technology, research, etc.
Organisation of various cultural events and existence of numerous students clubs and societies catering to various interests of students, offering overall personal and social growth.

Dislikes

the academic workload can be sometimes demanding, not always but sometimes, leading to stress and pressure among students.
the institutes remote location can make students feel isolated from urban centres, leading to limited access to entertainment etc found in larger cities.
while IIT Kharagpur has quite a modern infrastructure, but students often face challenges majorly of internet connectivity and network issues.

Course Curriculum Overview

My course is BS Exploration Geophysics, 4 years and I did not exactly choose this course, I got it based on my rank in JEE Advanced in the general category which was 19398. I have not been properly introduced to the course faculty yet as in the first year no specific branch-related subjects are taught like every student studies the same subjects and appears for the same examinations in the first two semesters irrespective of the branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

the fee structure at IIT Kharagpur can vary depending on the program and the category of the student (General, SC/ST, OBC, etc). generally, for undergraduate programs, the fee ranges from Rs. 2-3 lakhs per year for Indian students. international students usually have higher fees. IIT Kharagpur provides various scholarships based on merit and financial need. some sponsorships may also be sponsored by corporate entities, alumni or government agencies. Financial assistance comes in the form of fee waivers, loans or special grants.

Campus Life

Life at IIT Kharagpur campus is vibrant and dynamic, offering students a rich experience both academically and socially. Socially, there are plenty of cultural events, festivals, and student clubs to engage in. Two annual fests are conducted by the institute, both in January within a gap of a week. the annual tech fest is called Kshitj which is usually conducted a week before the annual socio-cultural fest i.e. the Spring fest. Extra Academic Activities has been divided into four sections: NSO (sports and games), NCA (fine arts, music, and dance), NSS (national social service), and NCC (national cadet corps). a student gets allotted one of the above four at the beginning of the first semester based on his/her skills and seat availability. Almost all the societies and clubs catering to the different interests of students are run by students of IIT Kharagpur.

Admission

I was admitted into this college by taking two entrance examinations, JEE Mains and then JEE Advanced. To sit for JEE Advanced, one has to qualify for JEE Mains by clearing a particular cut off which varies yearly depending on numerous factors like difficulty level of examination, number of students appearing, etc. The application form of EE Mains can be found on the official websites of NTA and on the official website of JEE Advanced for the same. The application fees and dates can be found on brochures released on respective websites.

For placement and internship we have CCD ( Career development center ) and it ensure that students are getting all the opportunities for interview with top companies like Microsoft, google, Goldman Sache amazon and so on. students can apply for internship in 5th semester and can sit for placement in their 8th semester, other than campus placement students can apply anywhere for off campus placement if they are meeting thier crieteria.

I choose my course that chemistry because of the fact that I had got the rank that came under it and another reason is chemistry department is quite old here even if kanpur chemistry department is better for core, you will get chance for non core too here. Life at IIT KGP

Placement Experience:

The placement is good in IIT KGP in comparison to other colleges. People are eligible to sit for placements in their fourth year can sit for placements through CDC. The placements are held in two phases. In session 24-25, we have seen 1000+ offers to students in first phase. After getting degree, I would also go for doing job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course for the first year is easy overall , maybe challenging for biology students because involvement of Maths in the curriculum but they can decrease their load by practicing Maths problems, asking doubts, approaching the instructors or their personal mentors. Otherwise the course is mixed in a good way with theoretical and practical part. Labs are conducted of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and CS in first year. You can choose CS as an minor in higher classes.

In the final year, a student is eligible for campus placements, 75% of the registered students are placed and the others have to go for off campus placements. also here if you are in a good branch, you will get good package otherwise, you will get w=very low package.

I was preparing for the medical exam in 2014-2016, i appeared in 2016 AIPMT exam 2016, but did not get better college and so i heard about IISER exam that we can we go for higher study from here. i was interested that i can go to the medical research after completing my degree from IISER. yes we can go to ICMR and research field in any department if you have qualified from IISER with your dedication. you can go foreign for higher study like Phd. There shoud be more laboratry so that it easy for individual practices. The exam taken in IISER is semester wise with fraction like mid sem and end sem. with the perfect schedule. The exam of IISER is good level in each deparments.

Other colleges I applied for is IIT Delhi because it is nearer to my home and is well reputed college and have a great field in Tech.I opt this college because I am interested in Tech field. I finally chose IIT KGP beacuse it is providing me better branch than IIT Delhi and I got interested in this college beacuse my teacher in myh senior schoo is also from IIT KGP they taught me a lot of stories of there college time and I talked to some seniors of college for admissionb regarding prespective so they advised for IIT KGP.Therefore I chose IIT KGP over IIT Delhi.
