On the other hand, the dual degree curriculum gives more importance to research and specialisation in electrical engineering. IIT Roorkee/Kharagpur is ranked 5th/6th in the NIRFranking while IIT Gandhinagar/Mandi is Ranked 18th/33rd. IIT Roorkee Metallurgical branch has an Average Package of 21 LPA with IIT Gandhinagar/Mandi EE branch at 24 LPA. Old IITs have better infrastructure and college life as compared to new IITs.

Should I take Chemical Engineering at IIT Roorkee, ECE at IIT Bhubaneswar or EEE at IIT Mandi ?

Good and important courses good method of teaching

Tution fees 200000. Maintanence + full mess and hostel fee is 86000. Scholarships like fee waiver is provided by college on base of parents income . Those of have income less than 100000 are fully rewarded tution fees . Thode who have between 1 to 5 lkh are are rewarded with 2/3 of tution fees . My many friends pay full fee many are rewarded by fee waiver

My semester 1 fees is153000 rupees including hostel charges tuition fee mess charges and other facilities 100000 as tuition fee and 53000 as mess,hostel,and other facilities tuition fee for obc,sc,st category is 0 and they only have to give 53000 as overall fee

For fee it was 1.16 lakhs per semester , it was just 29k the year before i joined but suddenly there was a spike in fee and this fee included everything from hostels to tution fee to gym and food and so on

Life at IIT Roorkee

As such there no such huge hikes in fees in our college because this is government college. So the complete fee of my college including tution fee, mess fee, hostel fee is nearly about 11.5 lakhs. There are many scholarships programs runs in the campus like MCM(Merit Cum Scholarship), Fee waiver depending on the criteria a student is eligible for that scholarship. As such there are no employment in the campus one thing is you do that is an internship under an professor that will give you a stipend of 10000 per month

IIT ROORKEE - Campus review

Tuition fee is free for ST / SC students and the policy for increasing other tuition fee I dont remember it precisely but it is well maintained and no hikes in the fee policy. No everything is included in fee structure no extra charges will be taken from students scholarships are provided to the students who are belonging to NED families and some of the scholarships like NSP

IIT ROORKEE IS REALLY GOOD

The tution fee is around 1 lakh rupees per semester.However if you belong to the financially backward classes you can avail fee waiver.The complete cost of education is around 11-12 lakh rupees for the entire four years.There is an sc sp cell which provides financial aid to the students who are not well to do financially.
